1.
m sure he is happy with his lotto lucky dip, can play again when new coach Hecingbottom is announced.
You can have as many new Managers, new structures as you like until this Club rids itself of it''s autocratic owner nothing will change.

This Club is famous for converting Managers and players that have been successful elsewhere into rank ordinary performers! As soon as they move on they again become revitalised.

  2.
Good joke Zipper! This is football remember with ''loads of money'' where the priority (as we learnt to our cost) last year is to have key people in place earliest.

I also predict that after half a dozen matches of the new season Irvine will take over on a temp basis pending hunting down new Manager - by end of season?
Admit guys that I was about 15 games adrift but I can''t resist reminding you that I told you so last July!

  3.
Being called an ''old lad'' has seriously impacted on my feelings.
Cheer up TC! Maybe you''ll get one from Morty for having such dubious ''mates''. Obviously their misinformation spread around the internet is about as accurate as most of his comments on here!

  4.
It was a bit of nonsense to see which idiots would desperately grab it as a stick to beat the club with.

    Ahem....
Just a little sad that (like you) he has not got something better to do with his time than purposely trying to spread misinformation. There''s already too many ''real'' issues to concern us, no need to look for trash from idiots trying to cause trouble!

  5.

They also invited Bowkett to join the board, seems that they have a track record of appointing good people to help them run the club.

nephew Tom (and his sponsorship efforts,
What sponsorship efforts? You really don''t know what you''re talking about.
You don''t seem to have your finger on the pulse of the day to day goings on at our Club old lad. I suggest you update yourself so that you don''t appear a little silly when you are throwing around insults!

......who mysteriously resigned a couple of weeks after mapping out the Club''s future at the AGM!

Have you forgotten Ed Balls, nephew Tom (and his sponsorship efforts, and Stephen Fry. As well as the several inexperienced managerial appointments. Plus the various appointments that have come/gone within weeks! I think selecting and making appointments with this board has hardly been a success story.

The point is Morty that the CURRENT members have done little right (apart from of course Delia''s original investment).

Our success in recent years came from McNally''s appointment of Lambert and then was funded by the financial rewards of Lambert''s success.

Unless of course you can prove otherwise.
Didn''t they appoint McNally?
I thought somebody would raise that. Yes they did but under Alan Bowkett''s stewardship/guidance and you know what happened to him!

But Morty our Board/Management are paid to get it right more times than otherwise. I am now (and I am sure you are) getting bored with citing endless examples of decisions that they have made that fit the latter, and nothing that I see encourages me that things will change!
Nope, you seem firmly entrenched in your misery.Enjoy[Y]
Interesting Morty that this is your usual (and only) reaction to facts that you cannot dispute!
We can carry on all day if you like, you can quote failures and I can quote things that the board have done right. What the actual truth is that they are somewhere in the middle. Pretty much exactly where every single board , at every single football club in the land, are.

  11.

All the independent press were hailing wolfie as the bargain buy of the season!

    Before he played, obviously!
Yes. Just another example where the board lurched into a knee jerk decision, based on the recommendation, no doubt, of a scout with about the same ability to carry out his job as they have. Minus of course, again, the aforementioned ''due diligence''.
Its not though, is it?He was being hailed, by independent journalists, as the absolute bargain of the season. That happened.
Yes it is. Journalists were probably listening to our fans eulogising over this ''dutch wonderkid'' and probably watched the same youtube video. When investing what was then a record investment for our Club far deeper research was required. I will forever remember him in his first presser reply to a sycophantic reporter that ''not everybody loved him''. How right he was, he was one of, if not the most inept player I ever saw pull on a City shirt and I have been following them since 1962!

  13.
Delia did the right Thing getting Moxey out of the club !

people who do not know facts of things that go on at the club are quick to jump all over Delia but if you really knew what went on you would understand she did was right for the club !

Ok she Hired him but you Never know what a employee is like until they work with you

She found out the rest is history
It''s called ''due diligence'' old lad. Close scrutiny of his record spoke for itself. There were, we are told, excellent candidates ''queuing up'' for the highly paid role. But just like many other things....our board got it wrong!

  14. Be quite interesting to hear the following people''s views as to where the problem lies:

    Paul Lambert

    Alan Bowkett

    David McNally

    Jez Moxey

Lambert took so much stick for jumping ship due to his ''ambition''.

Think it was more that he had identified that we simply did n''t have any and that we already had a nose bleed at the level we were at! Risk can be a very dangerous thing (particularly in this industry) but just like in life you will not get far without calculated risk!

  15.
Money of course does matter Derby, our owners, compared to the majority of clubs in the two top tiers these days, have a modest amount, but the money that Delia has put into the club has more often been vital, combine that with her decision making, we have enjoyed many seasons in the top flight, which in turn, has given the club the Premier riches.Just simply take the last 20 years as a whole, the club has enjoyed many highs and lows, ups and downs, but i have enjoyed it immensely, and i would imagine  so has the majority of City fans, im thankful that Delia has been at the helm and wish her many more seasons in her role. You dont have to go far down the road, 40 miles or so, to see a rival, stuck in limbo year after year. They could argue they have solid steadiness, but my goodness, it  comes with a boredom factor off the scale.
Fair comment Essjayess. I think my frustration in the main is caused by our failure to capitalise when we have worked so hard to achieve PL status, often due to blindingly obvious poor decisions.

That wonderful Derby team who ''played Newcastle off the park'' yesterday - were they the same Derby team who Norwich murdered 3-0 just a few weeks ago? Just checking because it seems odd.
It was indeed Thirsty, playing the same Newcastle team that put 9(nine) past us in the last two fixtures!
Sorry thirsty slight typo there it was of course 10 (ten) goals in the last two fixtures at Newcastle

  18.
But Kingo, isn''t that what all owners to? What other football club owners don''t choose who is on the board?

I doubt you''ll find any who let the fans choose.
Of course not NN, but successful Football Clubs much like any other business choose Board members with sufficient knowledge of the business they are in to be able to make a contribution. Also a spread of knowledge to cover all scenarios. Not just because they are celebrity mates or relations!

  19.
I don''t think it is a massive leap to suggest the majority shareholders will have final decision on most things. Of course they surround themselves with directors and other board members to offer advice and expertise, how much notice they choose to take of it is up to them though.

I am a tad concerned our board is now three family members and a friend of theirs from outside of football.
Exactly my point Kingcanary!
