1. I am sometimes stunned by headlines on this site for ''headlines sake''. Our excellent Manager apparently is deeply indebted to the supporters of our Club! While we do of course in general have a loyal following of which we can be proud, Paul comments regularly on this, let us be realistic. He has provided a level of entertainment that only three years ago we could only dream about! I think I know where the debt lies!
2. Think you''re probably right Hannibal. Our man has it all, tactical awareness, excellent man manager/motivator, eye for potential in a player. A rare breed. If he continues to succeed and be unphaised by any challenge whatsoever he will be well worthy of a top top job.May it be a long time in the future for our sake!
3. Sunderland would no doubt see PL as an excellent replacement for SB! Hope we''re not ''repaid'' for the Colchester episode!
4. Please be realistic! Grant Holt will go in The January window, the purpose of the new contract was to extract max possible fee + by then us fans will have come round to the idea!
5. Come on lads, if you are going to start threads like this, do your research! Any ''best'' Norwich X1 without Ron Davies - the finest striker of his day and probably since is a joke. GH whilst he has done a fine job for us is not in the same class!
6.
if he EVER turned up at Carrow Road as our manager I would run onto the pitch and punch him. He''s a horrible 2-faced snake! Can you honestly see him in the same room as Holty after what he said about him ''diving''....let alone the club getting special treatment from the FA!
Can you imagine Marc Tierney in the Canaries side after what he said? I think that''s your answer!
7. Just occurred to me - Bernie and Flavio may realise where the best manager in the land resides. Neil W does n''t seem too sure of his tenure at Loftus road next year and in view of a possible swap he may be warming his seat for his arrival by comments like: Queens Park Rangers boss Neil Warnock says he is delighted the Canaries have been promoted to the Premier League. I love Delia and her mother Are we ready for another manager with initials NW?
8. We are right not to ''count our chickens''. Reading look to have a very straight forward run in, our record is not good when expectations are high - ref Preston, Doncaster & Palace!
9. Cheers Herman! Let''s hope we all feel this good on May 8th - I''m sure we will!
10. I was probably supporting Norwich before you were born Herman!
11. How long will it be before the ''Lambert to Villa'' rumours start?
12. I suspect that there will be little more spent this season (on loans ie). I cannot imagine circumstances where the Club (or Directors etc) would go public with the funds we have available to encourage inflated asking prices for loanees. We will see.
13. Good managers always know when they have reached the pinnacle of what can be achieved at a club and this is the time to seek pastures new. PL would have been aware that with this level of extra investment there is still some way to go at NCFC which can only look good on his CV.I have been following our Club for some 50 years now and he rates among the best. Lets hope that he feels there is more potential here at the end of this season!
14. As these funds have apparently been known about (within the Club) since early Jan I wonder whether having this level of finance available (for player recruitment)was a condition of PL staying on. Could this be the reason that his personal confirmation that he had no interest in the Burnley post was delayed for few days?Whatever the background to this it is a fantastic gesture by Mr Foulger.
15. Fear that Rob Earnshaw''s speed/style of play may cause our slowish central defenders some problems today!
16.
I fear that of late we really have not performed and have got out of jail with mediocre performances against at best average sides with goals late on. Regretfully I suspect that against a more capable side that takes its chances it may be us will be on the end of a thumping!
This is exactly what I meant. Saints decent side took their chances (could have had five). We are only a very average side under an excellent Manager that can play well only against average opposition!
17. This is exactly what I meant. Saints decent side took their chances (could have had five). We are only a very average side under an excellent Manager that can play well only against poor opposition!
18. I fear that of late we really have not performed and have got out of jail with mediocre performances against at best average sides with goals late on. Regretfully I suspect that against a more capable side that takes its chances it may be us will be on the end of a thumping!
19. Suspected ''The Man'' did not know what he was talking about;''But he’s still the greatest keeper we’ve ever had, still a club legend. It was simply time to drag him out of the pool before he drowned.''He''s talking about Gunny - obviously Ken Nethercott/Kevin Keelan were before his time!
20. Whilst Bryan Gunn has rightly taken some stick nobody has mentioned Ian Crook. Can we assume that the recruitment of this appalling keeper was based on his recommendation?
21. “I''m happy that they are considering us as one of the top teams in the division,” he said. “It is up to us to go out on the pitch and prove that now.You proved it all right Mr Gunn!!!!
22. Despite having huge respect for Bryan as a person/player, the question is, is he a motivator? I''m afraid the answer lies in the performance of Messrs Clingan, Russell etc in the last game of the season - not loan players, people whose futures depended upon success in that game. We all know what happened. I fear for the future of this Club!
23. Hope you are learning fast Bryan. As I said before you are a grand chap but I must question your judgement if you start using adjectives like ''Character and Commitment'' when describing this shower. These are enduring qualities demonstrated over a long period not earned because a load of overpaid individuals decide for once to make an effort - even in the rain. You personally personify ''Character and Commitment'' but our Club must now look for a more experienced individual to take us back to where we belong.
24. Character and commitment lasted just one game again then Bryan and it was n''t even raining!
25. “It was a horrible night and it takes character and commitment to come out here and put a performance on"No Bryan forget that old cliche ''character and commitment'' its not an option, thats what they are well paid to do week in week out - even when the weather is a little nasty.
