  1. He didn't change his style even though that was desperately needed. Any manager has to work with the players they have. That has always been the case. Most supporters at the time knew Farke's time was up. I remember being at the Chelsea 7-0 where they had so much room because Max and Dimi were playing as wingers often ahead of Teemu. But he didn't change it even though it was embarrassing to watch.
  2. 49 EPL games, 6 wins, conceded over 100 goals and only scored 30ish? That would take a massive change in direction to turn it around. And a completely different playing style. Great manager in the Championship, not a clue at the highest level. It will be interesting to see what happens if he gets Leeds promoted.
  3. Never quite sure why people want to live in the past. We were generally atrocious in the EPL under Farke.
  4. The Country's debt has trebled. We have electric cars. England have still not won a major trophy. We have seen the genius of Emi and the goals of Teemu in a yellow shirt. We have been to Wembley and played the opposition off the pitch and walked the final.
  5. We were on another level above Brentford in the Championship the year we both got promoted. The next season they were on another level above us. I realise we lost Emi who was the spark that made the whole team tick but they obviously learned a lot where as we didn't. It was ironic that Farke was sacked the day we beat them but they finished far above us by the end of the season. We have to be a lot more pragmatic were we to get promoted again.
  6. Too many teams, us included think that winning the Championship, often at a canter, by playing open and expansive football is the way forward. Problem is once in the EPL many teams can play that way but with better players so unsurprisingly it doesn't work for the promoted squads. Luton have given some big teams a run for their money because they have a big, strong and athletic squad of players. To my mind, if we want to have any chance of staying up we need to be looking at that way forward. Farkeball might well get Leeds promoted but i bet they don't stay up if they do.
  7. In the last 6 years the owners have 'invested' £500 million in share capital to keep the club solvent. And still not won anything. The utter madness of football.
  8. You have no idea what you are talking about. Football is cyclical for all clubs. There will always be peaks and troughs for every single club. If you expect better then maybe invest your own money in the club?
  9. I was referring to the business side of football rather than how it works on this year's version of FIFA. The continuous hiring and firing of managers is a guaranteed way for any club to disappear without trace. I think everyone knows that Wagner is not the answer but for a new DoF to dive straight in and sack him in his first week with little day to day knowledge of the club and the way it ticks would have not solved anything. The next manager needs to be a very considered appointment as it would appear the new owners have a longer term vision of where they want to club to be.
  10. Moan moan whinge whinge.... you must lead ione very happy life. Everyone knows the club is not where it needs to be but the constant moaning and whingeing on here by too many shows they have very little knowledge of football and how it works. How about suggesting new managers then? Not so easy is it especially within the financial constarinats of running a football club. Farke would have been hounded out of the club long before he achieved what he did if many on here had had their way.
  11. And not happy about it. Next fall out imminent.
  12. I've a friend who refs at lower levels where this is used and he says its very effective as often the sinner's team mates will turn on him as they suddenly have to get through a period of the game with only ten men. If its used for the right offence, and dissent is highest on this list, it woul work well.
  13. Sainz got his foot in towards the end last night. He seemed to feel he had a point to prove and rightly so. Why he has not started a game is beyond me.
  14. Obviously not seen some of the teams I have. Walker second time round, Hamilton, Roeder, Grant, Deehan, Gunn.
  15. Awful. No pattern, no aggression and no desire. Sainz did more in 8 minutes than Fassnacht did all match. Why does he not start?
  16. I believe though even the French system is starting to feel the strain on an ageing population and younger people not wanting to go in to medicine. The way we live is not sustainable and we do have to face up to that fact. Endless consumption and consumerism is just not possible. Resources of any kind are not limitless in their supply.
  17. To do that you would need to have a complete revamp of the way we produce and market food. Most people will do what they like rather than what they should. It seems nearly every other advert on TV is for fast food and restricting or banning that would need to be the first port of call. And as much as it pains me to say so, the way healthcare is provided and processed would also need a massive reset. Its obvious to anyone that a completely free healthcare service at point of service is no longer viable.
  18. If Cooper gets the sack at Forest, we should be first in the queue.
  19. Every urban area outside London and the other major cities is in deep ****. No investment and no vision on how to make them work. Supermarkets have killed pretty much all town centres as small shops can no longer make it financially viable. I suspect we are heading back to the dark days of the early 80s when some decided the best way of getting the Government to take notice was to riot and burn down what was left of their own communities.
  20. Indeed but politicians will do what is right for them personally and their Party. Rarely does that coincide with what is right for the Country and the people in it. If it costs money then the Tories will not do it as they see tax cuts as the only way forward even though 13 years has shown that as complete bollicks..it remains to be seen what the Tory-lite Labour Party will do.
  21. It's fairly obvious that Wagner is not the right way forward but Knapper needs time to send the club in the direction he wants.
  22. That’s one thing many are very good at- working the benefits system.
  23. The UK is an ageing nation that has a poor skill set. Unless we want to have very few nurses and doctors, then we have no option but to 'import' the Labour. Its the same in many industries. The reason there are a lot of unemployed is because many of these people lack not just work based skills, but life and social based skills and are very little use to many employers.
  24. Its nigh on impossible to prevent illegal immigration. The only way to do it is to help the Countries that they migrate from more stable, wealthier and such they don't want to go anywhere else where it rains much of the time and is cold for 6 months of the year and is a Nation on the decline.
