  1. I have to go with OTBC''s at moment, not only a great celebration, but ends up at Delias house next morning. Classic!
  2. Picture the scene... the 3rd minute of injury time, it''s 0-0 in a uninspiring game on a damp November Saturday afternoon & 3 points will take us top for the first time in the season. The ball is played forward by the Shak, & with a deft touch, you turn your man, & you are away... just you & the keeper... left or right or through the legs...you go for the right & with a sublime touch it goes inches past his left boot & into the net in front of the Barclay End. The Ground erupts, it''s chaos! Where do you run, what do you do?
  3. horrible stuff indeed. my heart goes goes out to all that are suffering. I work here in Leicester Square & have been told by the police not to leave the building. Anyway, just wanted to say to anyone that might be stuck in London, We have a spare room in our flat in Kilburn, NW6 if anyone can''t get home tonight. Just give me a call on 07887 581515
  4. Crap isn''t it?!! But I thought the local derby was on TV too? I guess they will try & get the contracted amount of games out the way in the first part of the season. Perhaps?
  5. I am also very happy with this signing for all the reasons listed above. 1st Wiz, I just can not believe your negativity, it''s good fun having you on the board & I will respect everyones opinions, but come on, these 3 players for free?!!!!! I do worry that you will only be happy when we are run by Dave Bassett & go into administration whilst facing relegation Top stuff, Worthy keep it up...
  6. cos he is young & leads the frontline of England u18''S. he must therefore have a lot of potential. Having said that, when will he ''break through'' as him & Hendo have supposed to over the last 3 years?! Looks like the average price of our squad is between 20m - 25m That is higher than at any time in the last, wel I don''t know... ever???? That surely means we are in the best possible shape to mount a campaign in the Fizzy league, especially as Doncaster has promised 100% will go back into inesting in the squad.   otbc!
  7. After all the debating on players value, I wanted to add my version on how I see our squad valued. I have tried to account for length of contract as far as I know & take their age into consideration - this is based on nothing but my own opinion: Green - £3.5m Ward - £350,000 Gallagher - £250,000 Helveg - £250,000 Doherty - £500,000 Shackell - £1.5m Charlton - £350,000 Drury - £800,000 Jonson - £500,000 Henderson - £650,000 Safri - £1m Francis - £2m Holt - £400,000 Huckerby - £1.5m Brennan - £300,000 Ashton - £5m Leon - £2m Jarvis - £1m Svenson - £500,000 This totals £22.35. What are your opinions?
  8. 1st Wiz, I''m glad you are now ok & back on the board. But please.... the rumours, the comedy, the stupid suggestions are why I log on every day at lunch - what else do you want to talk about? Worthy''s favourite restaurant? Come on, chill out & enjoy the posts whether they are right, wrong, dull or fun!
  9. but would we want Ashton going? no. Given the youngster a break!! He''s just moved home, played in the Premiership & undergone the tightest relegation battle in the top flight ever & been hailed as THE one to save us! He needs rest, he''s 21!!! Also, do you really want him being watched by all? (especially if we go down!) He''s our quiet man, lets keep it that way for a while!
  10. I''ve asked a mate who lived in Fulham... either Zoulus or the Larrick would be good. It''s gotta be Fulham!
  11. I''d like to echo the comment about Roger Munby - I have had the privilege of meeting him on a coupel of occasions & you couldn''t ask for anything more for our club - passion, pride & intelligence. Spot on. Also, I''m so Glad the way we have all forgiven Delia for her rant - she said sorry, & we all think of it as a bit of a laugh now. Can you imagine other supporters being as open minded about the bigger picture in what she & Michael have doen for the last 10 years? Her ambition of being the best football club in the world is ambitious - but whatever league we are in next year (& let''s pray it is the Premiership) I for one am very proud of the club from Delia to the stewards.
  12. So then... gutted but I am in priority group 4, therefore no ticket for me or my mates on Sunday. We all live in London & are trying to figure out where to watch the game. Our first choice was to get in a pub very near the ground & (hopefully) join in the carnival afterwards!!! Then I see the message from the Fulham police that chances of wtching in a pub near the ground are "slim"? How many other of you are in the same position as us - in London, but no tickets? We need to get together for this one like never before.... Come on then.... lets be ''avin you!
  13. After a pretty crap season, would Fergie really let their last game of the season just fizzle out? After the embarrassment of us stuffing them, surely their is a lot of pride to play for on the final game of the season in front of their own fans?
  14. Cheers buddy, presumably you are as nervous as us right now! I think all we can guarantee at this stage is that there will be goals. I do think you need the 3 points more than us, so I can see some very desparate play in the game. I hope the best team wins too - it better be us though!
  15. Fulham have Everton this weekend, tricky. Who is their next match against? Finally they play us. If we can get to within two points of them over the next two games, we can overtake them on the last game of the season. The press seem to forget about Fulham, but I would be worried if I was them. If Palace win all 3 games, overtaking Fulham is our only hope. Who is the other team Fulham have to play?
  16. Fingers x''d. But I do believe we now have the ability to win matches - in terms of skill & mental strength. 3 weeks ago, I would have not said that & had no hope. I''ll be there tomorrow & can''t wait!!
  17. The Jury is out for me, I think the current away kit gets away with the collar, i like it, but not sure on this one. But hey, you''ve got to always love the Yella & Green! Also, is anyone else slightly alarmed that Deano seems to have lost both his arms since last night? It may hamper his balance in the future...
  18. I only saw MOTD last night & they didn''t talk about why Hux went off. Is it serious? Will he be out for a while? Anyway, I am still high from last night, nothing like the Gillette Soccer Special when you win in the last minute. Why was that bloke wearing a plaster on his chin? He looked a right plonker!
  19. From Sky.com... At the behest of fans, Manchester band The Doves have put in a request to sample Delia Smith''s now infamous footie cry Let''s Be ''Avin Ya. The chef made an impromptu performance at half-time at a Norwich v Man City game, calling for a twelfth man on the pitch. The boys said: "We''re not sure if she''s a bit worried about her outburst; we''ve yet to get a reply from her office." I hear that they may get a sound-a-like to add the unique tones of La Smith, should she fail to give the lads the go-ahead. Come on, Let''s Be ''Avin Ya, Delia!
  20. Just read the entire thread & have realised how proud I am to be a City fan whether we stay up or go down. In times of strife when all looks glum, thanks god for Pompey Fan, coming on here & making us all realise just how lucky we are!
  21. The main point is to get him off the wage bill. If he is out of contract in the summer, we will hadly get a penny for him now. £50k would enable the club to give everyone who bought a shirt this season £1 off next seasons strip!
