1.
We have more internationals in our team than at any point in history. We have guys that were able to score for fun. We have three or four central midfielders who look genuinely first rate and one who can offer sublime defence splitting passes. We have a guy with one of the best left foots outside the top 6. We have a strong assertive full international supposedly shoring our defence and one of the best young England talents with genuine pace, enthusiasm and ability. We have one of the best youth teams in the country snapping at their heels. I could go on. There is nothing wrong with our squad and no reason why it is not capable of surviving with some ease.
I agree and we have not been able to get them all on the field because of injuries. I look forward to the time when we can field strong teams which are more competitive internally because strong players are challenging for places and externally against the opposition
 2. Didn''t Bowkett say that Hughton spends his time at obscure Belgian matches watching players Bowkett has never heard of? Of course Hughton knows who he wants even if the scouting network draw players to his attention

From what i understand there is a very split boardroom at the moment With McNally on one side and Foulger on there other. This started after PL left and has been brewing for some time. Even with McNally trying to force MF off the board.
McNally and Foulger have not seen eye to eye for some considerable time.
Hang on. One minute you are weeping and wailing on here because McNally won''t continue the cosy chats and there is no information about whatever it is you actually talked to the Club about. Now you claim intimate knowledge of boardroom politics and McNally''s career aspirations. I think even a Hendon trainee would be sceptical of that inconsistency in the evidence.
Whatever you have running around your head about ''weeping and wailing'' as you put it what exactly has that got to do with McNally applying for jobs away from Carrow Road or his relationship with Foulger ?
How do you know such intimate things about McNally when you are always whinging that McNally won''t meet with you like the club always did in the good old days? Either you are in the loop or you are not. It is a simple enough question. There is a gaping inconsistency here.
 4. Nothing is beyond the illiteracy of this board. After seven years, there are still those who can''t spell Hoolahan!

 6. At the risk of stating what will be obvious to some though clearly not all posters, McNally is human. He is not a superbeing nor is he a lizard as far as I believe. Humans make mistakes. You expect that. You hope they do not make big mistakes but if they do then it must be balanced against the positive. Even if we are relegated, it would be folly in the extreme to sack McNally and frankly, on his performance inconceivable. He is the best CEO we could hope for and has led this club effectively and profitably over the last four plus years. Of course, there may be some board room battle that leads to his demise but it will be a bad day for this club when he leaves.
 7. Ricky was included in World Soccer''s list of 100 Most wanted players of the summer transfer window so presumably the most prestigious English language international football magazine also rates YTS kids as international footballers.
 8.
I really detest Hughton and all he stands for.
You''ve kept that well hidden.
 9. This reminds me of the film Annie Hall After Annie and Woody Allen split up, he tries to recreate their wonderful times with various new girlfriends. It doesn''t work and is heartwrenchingly sad to watch. In this case it''s two people getting back together to recreate past glories but I suspect it will be as doomed and sad to watch as Woody.
 10. I think freeing up Howson, Fer and Redmond the way that Tettey does when fit allows us to play at our best and if Jonas does that too then he could be a very valuable player for us in the tough games ahead
 11. Easy. All the negatives are heart views on what might happen based on understandable fears and views of the manager''s character. Any rational approach looking at the season so far has to conclude that we will survive given our results, our squad and the other teams in the relegation fight.
 12.

My main concern with this signing is not so much that Gutierrez isn''t good enough per se, but it''s indicative that yet again Hughton is shying away from attacking and focusing on even more defence. His best season overall was probably close to 4 years ago, and even then he''s never been prolific from the aspect of supplying forwards with their ammunition, nor is he a consistent goalscorer either. His strengths lie in solid passing (if not spectacular levels of ability), great work rate, whilst being strong and good at helping out defensively. So when we''re in a position where our forwards are crying out for supply, do we really want a ''defensive winger'' rather than someone who can directly influence our key weakness? It really isn''t the players fault there''s a certain degree of apathy about his signing, simply that he''s not the sort of player many of us thought we needed (or indeed were looking for), and it really doesn''t address some of the main areas of concern for fans.Of course I''ll get behind the guy and hope he does a great job for us whilst on loan, but I''m just hoping that it doesn''t mean we''ve got another few months of even more defensive dross to come because of it...
I can agree with pretty much all of that
And just maybe, he can give us more defensive strength and release Howson and Fer to get forward more. It can be attacking to sign a defensive player if he can free up others. It''s no coincidence that our best performances came when Tettey plays because Howson can push up with more freedom knowing his back is covered.
 13.

Perhaps the OP would be kind enough to remind us why he couldn''t get a game at Newcastle utd.
maybe cos newcastle united are quite a bit better than us ? doesn''t mean he can''t do a job... russell martin couldn''t get a game for bloody peterborough united but lambert knew him and the kind of character he was and i think it is fair to say that worked out quite well... nothing to say jonas couldn''t do the same for hooton
Papis Cisse can''t get a game there. Guess we wouldn''t want him here either.
 14.
So proven international players with a prem pedigree are no longer good enough to be signed by NCFC?? Guittierez is not able to compete for a starting place alongside our midfield giants of johnson, fox, howson, Tettey and snodgrass?? We need some experience and quality in the centre of the park, as recently as sat highlighted that. He is a reasonable option amongst several I suspect we are looking at. In time for Sat would be a real boost. Some city fans need to appraise the quality of both our existing staff and potential signings; increasingly we have become as fickle as newcastle and liverpool fans in demanding better.
Bang on Zipper The lack of realism is worrying and links with the belief so prevalent on here that we should be blowing other sides away especially at Carrow Road. We are a good team with good players but not more than that and we can only get better if experienced international players add their skills to what we have.
 15. Not sure why we need a second thread but anyway, I think you have to tie this signing with all the worries about getting enough points to stay up. There will be difficult matches ahead like Cardiff away where a real battler wouldbe welcome. There will also be times when we need to dig in hang on and having someone like Jonas with his skill set could be valuable. I really can''t see the problem here.
 16.

Football is now a 14 man game and Bennett brings something very different to anyone else.
Wasn''t Bennett the 5 minute sub man last season... and played out of position on the left really badly.I remember him getting a couple of starts on the right towards the end of the season, putting in an impressive performance then being dropped for the next game.I think he played about as much last season as Wes is being played this season.
I agree Foggy. I think we underused Bennett last season. He does give us a number of things especially getting to the byline at pace followed with a right footed cross
 17. Tettey is the most important if not the most skillful. It is no coincidence that our ten match run last season and our best performances this have been when he was playing. He fills that vital DM role that releases Howson and Fer to press and his passing suits the wingers. Bennett is a speedy right footed right winger. It is easy to dismiss him as an impact player but we''ve missed that especially when chasing games. Football is now a 14 man game and Bennett brings something very different to anyone else. Pilksis Pilks and when on form is a quality player. Howson. Nuff said!
 18. It''s an interesting one. Yet again we have seen that our best performances are when Tettey plays. It is partly about the best players but equally about the best blend.
 19. To have gone backwards, we must have been there in the first place. When was it that we were favourites to beat everyone but the top six or so at home? It certainly was not in the last three years.
 20.
The form guide has us in 19th and Swansea bottom so all is not rosey there either. Our last 6 matches were Swansea, Sunderland, Fulham, Man Utd, Palace and Everton. I think we have every right to be concerned and expect more than a return of 3 points from those fixtures. A manager lives and dies on results ant those are not good enough.
Why do we have every right to expect? Only against Fulham were we favourites to win. We can hope of course but the sense of entitlement on here is quite unrealistic.
 21.
Wrong - take a look at the form table over last 6 games! Only Swansea have been worse than us on goal difference but look who they have played and they''ve got Laudrup and are above us. Fulham, Palace, Sunderland all better than us!
And of those last six games, only against Fulham were we %favourites to win. I think a lot of posters have very unrealistic views of the relative strengths of teams in this league.
 22. King''s Man" Everton away was never going to be easy to get a point - look at the stats. We are getting points at those around us, although need to ensure we don''t have another Fulham result, but Hull win would put us level on points with the them who are in 10th place. It''s going to be very tight bottom half - that''s the reality this year, and Swansea are in that mix who everything thinks are wonderful but are struggling for results. City have had quite a few changes to the team - it does take time to get it to gel - this year with the way the league is going 40 points (or whatever the figure will be) will do me given where all the bottom half are at the moment. Quite right? The Fink Tank in today''s Times has home win 69%, draw 20% and away win 11%. Palace had better % odds at Spurs than we did at Everton.
 23.

Defeat next week could be time to panic and try anything...
Or of course another defeat next week and we could continue to squeeze our eyes shut, sit on our hands and hope for the best.
As as it''s known, do a Worthington
 24. No. We have good players coming back from injury and our new players are now bedding in. We will survive this season.
 25. I think you''ll find he goes for more than a couple of million.
