  1. We didn't pass the ball around with any pace on it and were slow to switch or move it, especially compared to how we have been since he came in. Disappointing.

And secondly, I'm struggling to understand how we didn't get a penalty first half?

Unfortunately, I'm not sure we deserved much more than a draw

  2. They will attempt to absolutly muller us initially and EH will have pulled out all the stops to make this as difficult for us as he can (temporary changing room, no hot water, light failure etc etc 😉).

However,  IF we can keep them out for the first 20-25 minutes we may have a chance.

A tight, hard won win for us.

I fact as manager of Villa, he has faced them twice this year winning in August at VP and drawing up there in March.

It does appear a little opportunistic as Farke was sacked before Smith. But hey, an attribute of a good leader is to be able to spot a good opportunity and exploit it. The icing on the cake is that you didn't have to pay any compensation

Yes a definitely opportunistic appointment.  SW is a straight talking chap and if he says he saw the chance once he knew DS was available, then any other probable was probably pushed down the pecking order immediately, despite what they may say.

Good appointment and I can see him being a city favourite.

  4. Rupp, McLean and Rashica all played superb today and anyone of those could have been MOTM for me.

I have always like Rupp, a neat, tidy and efficient footballer who does a job and in my humble opinion is quite underated. Chap next to me today asked what Mclean brings to the party. He saw what it was, in bucket loads by the end.

Quite revealing Hanleys post match interview talking about Gilmour saying in training he is the best player on the pitch and therefore in games so he should be the best player on the pitch and destined for great things. For the captain to say that says a lot about confusion for the players under Farkes leadership that he hasn’t played in 2 months.

He (Gilmour) will have his chance now so lets hope he delivers for us.

Pukki? could be a good season for him after all.

It seems quite attractive to me, TBH, but I'm not sure that it is the best preparation for athletes. If domestic flights were banned' it would be City that lost out, as we have longer journeys (by time) than most other clubs.

They should have been made to go by public transport until they won a game this season. Bonding and real world problems may have galvanised them a bit more.

Especially if they had to stand up on the train, all the way back from the smoke.

    No win no seat policy.
