  1. I suspect DF instructed a few of our players to be careful out there yesterday, and good advice too. Watching the game, there is no doubt Pukki was not at it 100%, but he still anticipates the final pass with lightening speed over the first few yards. Cleaver player.
  2. I met Justin Fashanu by chance when playing a five a side in Attleborough. He was still a youth team member but very encouraging and nice to talk to. Also met Spencer Prior when here, again a very nice chap indeed.
  3. City played well throughout this game against a skilful Toulouse who liked to keep possession. Had this been a league game we would have won by a few more such was our balance and general progressive play. Toulouse did not just turn up, they wanted this have no doubt. Pukki's chance first half was at my end and he was closed down quick. I suspect if this was not a friendly he may have got a goal as he pulled out of a few challenges. Stand out performer was Todd Cantwell, he looked superb the whole game, trying various tricks to move the ball forward and then winning possession when needed. If he keeps his place for Liverpool I would not be surprised. Just need the halfwits to keep off his back (which will not happen) this season and we may have an excellent player on our hands. Hanley should have had a couple and is back to his best. However, we will need out back 4/5 to be at their best this season. Our front 4 look really effective and I say wait till MOTD starts to notice and comments on them. Hernandez (one of my favourite players) came on and won everything. We have a good set of 14/5 players but unfortunately our weakness is our centre back positions, especially with the injuries. Only Hanley and Godfrey played the whole game!
  4. If they play like they did at the leeds away game then with the assistance of VAR (who will be a friend to us this season overall), I believe we could scrape a draw, or provide a scintillating display and great result. If more like Forest at home after the lights came back on then just run for cover...……. They have the ability to deliver to us our first serious spanking. Something hoped by MOTD and other biased based reporters out there. However, despite the fixture list which threw up this 'random' match as the first of the season for the European champions to mount their challenge against a much weaker team, it may just go our way.
  5. I've seen every promoted team to the top flight play in City colours since the early 80s and this is in my humble opinion the best collective one we have had. With that in mind I will go with an optimistic 10th - 15th place. However, we are going to get spanked on a number of occasions, of that there is no doubt in my mind. Bring it on!
  6. It would not surprise me if after two years in that league the plans to sell off part of that training ground for housing will be revealed.
  7. Can't see it myself. He's hardly in the same class as Godfrey, Lewis, Aarons or a Cantwell is he? Besides, he has been brought up on the one dimensional, long ball game there so would struggle with our style.
  8. If attempting to ridicule one of our current stripes is the height of their temerity, then they really have sunk to a new low. The amount of sour grapes and bitterness swilling around Portaloo road has obviously reach bursting point. It must stick in their throats to see our current level compared to theirs and over the last 15-20 years, and it has hardly changed. Think about that for a moment, over the near last two decades your nearest rivals are constantly coming up smelling of roses , but you (ipswich for the dim witted folk from there looking at this) just bob along with a wiff of sh1te about you in everything you do or undertake. Must be difficult to watch for them. However, the Op is correct they are literally now irrelevant in the footballing world and I suspect quite a few of them realise this. It could get worse for them yet, I have absolutely no idea about their squad or who's in it, but I suspect 'Marcus the saviour' is not the generous type he once was. I bet they think they are going to storm the league. Bless...
  9. Saw it today in one of the club shops. Not too bad. My son loved it.
  10. I can see them surviving (with us). I liked what I saw of them last season and they were, in my opinion, probably the best team to come to Carrow Road. They have a noisy passionate crowd behind them and have recently popped up from L1 which will provide incentive. They had few players on loan and similar to us a number keen to show the footballing world what they can achieve. Wilder, whether you like him or not is clearly a motivator and with a good wind behind them they could push on. A proper team. However, I am really looking forward to seeing how our season unravels and secretly expect us to finish comfortably in mid table with some really eye catching displays. I honestly can not wait. Our style of football (which has been the hall mark of NCFC for years) will be lauded. Mark my words.
  11. Neil was usually spotted patrolling majestically between the areas of 'deep lying sweeper and goal line technology placement point'
  12. Before one of his injuries a few years ago which kept him out for nearly two seasons, if I recall correctly, I saw him play a few times and on some occasions he literally looked like the best player on the field. Really like the player he could be but very, very unlucky with injuries, for us and particularly himself. If fit, he would probably have been in and around our first team I'm absolutely convinced. Difficult question to answer now of course.
  13. Indeed. And Gods help will be needed in safe guarding a good number of our main players from injury this season, if we are to survive.
  14. For every Sunderland or Fulham, there's a Wovles or Watford. Perhaps it a alphabet thing?
  15. Be fun if we made the final. Unlikely of course, but fun never the less.
  16. He was part of that successful loan trio and I for one was bitterly disappointed we did not sign him up. Usual moronic comments at the time from those who never went to games stating he was only good in a long ball team when he was superb with the ball at his feet in the penalty area. I believe he was another who was snapped up by Southampton for a low price when we could have made a bit more effort to have him back. One we missed in my opinion.
  17. Be good business if they received £30m for him. Can't see it happening, unless they really hype him up!
  18. I remember him well. After a rather unimpressive start he warmed to the crowd and in fact if I recall correctly he became a bit of a fans favourite. A player who tried hard and put the effort in when others appeared to take the easy option. His piece reads that he felt he was underappreciated here a smidgeon, but I'm not sure that was actually the case?
  19. I remembering it being free and busy, as my younger son and friend use to love playing their before a game. It is very disappointing that the price is now so much considering the weather, less home games and it not being open during cup games (I may be mistaken there) makes that opportunity much more limited. Very disappointing indeed.
  20. If this is a true statement by one of the deluded that follow them, then they have a shock coming their way. Look at our brief stop in that division. Had the Colchester result not been dealt with swiftly we could have suffered a very uncomfortable ride that year. Despite us having several 'championship standard players.' I suspect their season will depend a lot on their pre season team gelling, or not! Upsets galore to follow for them...….. Anyway in spite of my comments, who really cares about them anymore, apart from a cursory glance now and then. Is anyone really going to look at their result against Fleetwood/Rochdale hoping they have lost when we have just struggled a draw against Arsenal? Envious is not a word I would associate with ipswich right now! There are other words that would be more appropriate for them I'm sure...…...
  21. I would be surprised as we need 4 CB and he is quite capable. Had he managed that tackle better against Portsmouth, we may have seen more of Grant Hanley last season. However, he is certainly 4th choice at the moment
  22. Has he rather cryptically uncovered you as a secret Train spotter Tilly. And you're just in denial, trying to throw him off the scent?🤔 Does the Trans Siberian Express pass through either of those stations? 🚂
  23. Spot on. When I started going many, many years ago, we could all go as a group and rock up and in we went, apart from the big games when we had to go in the away part of the Barclay and ask to be allowed through . Whilst I would not wish to see parts empty and do understand the supply and demand aspects here, our support is getting older (including me) and younger ones are needed. We should as a club look to do the modern equivalent of the kids of a quid with the expansion plans or target the extra season ticket holders whilst the going is good. I suspect in all honesty it will be a long wait.
  24. I had the pleasure of meeting them both together in the City by chance a few months ago. Both very pleasant and polite, albeit a very brief chat. Congratulations to them both and here's hoping his luck and performance continues
