  1. Happy with this. I like a Kenny McClean type player in our squad. Easily good enough for this league, has character and never fails to show for the ball. I also strongly suspect that given time we will see a more cultured level of performance from him whether we are in this league or PL. He will get better and better.
  2. So, with the potential arrangement of allowing a certain number of ST holders into the ground during the upcoming season and randomly placing them in various stands. Where (if you had a choice) would you: 1. Want to sit and why? 2. Not want to sit and why? 3. Specifically sit a poster on here and why? Me? I'd sit behind DF and continually shout Forrrrrrwaaaaaaard. Just so he can benefit from my insight and reading of the game.
  3. Wouldn't be surprised to see them do well next season, especially initially. It will certainly be far more difficult than many of their support realise and we have bags of experience in that area, sadly. I feel what may hurt them most, is the lack of fans allowed into the stadium. Teams that are promoted need a vocal backing and again we are the example of how effective a passionate support can be on the team. I for one will be interested to see how the likes of them and a few others get on. I can understand when supporters of other teams come on hear and defend their team ( I know Norwich have infiltrated most other forums to some degree). However, if those watching from other teams let the topics run a bit they would probably see a fairer set on comments. By biting back they just invite the torment further. As for some of their fans generally? Who cares!
  4. I'm not 100% personally convinced that the current CB situation we have is adequate for the whole season ahead. More games to undertake, a lot of very competitive games if we are the right end of the table and the conundrum that is the CDM position. It is clear we have an issue with injuries to a couple and it has been suggested many times that Ben Godfrey is being courted by other clubs. Important season for us therefore I strongly feel we will see another CB before the window closes.
  5. I would be very surprised if we don not bring in another CB. Despite the fact we have 4 named in the squad, 3 of them suffered long enough injuries to cause us issues last season and it was left to the youngest CB to be ever present. We have an obvious weakness in this area, conceded a ton of goals, and the 3-2 friendly win showed how vulnerable we can be, I felt. I would not be happy without an improvement in this area by the end of the transfer window.
  6. Tom Trybull is one of those players that instantly warms to you. His work ethic was there to see from the off and then it was apparent he was a solid 7 out of 10 minimum, nearly every match, which put him in the top performers bracket. A gentleman off the pitch and someone I thought who epitomise Norwich city for me on it. Good rapport with the fans and rightly so, as neat and tidy player with the ball we have seen for quite a while on it. However, I suspect he like a few others are seen as good by the management, but possibly not exceptional enough to be kept on at the expense of others. I'd be more than happy to have him stay but wish him well in the future.
  7. Could be a great game to watch this one with our ressies, youth and a few new ones involved. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if we won the tie. I don't blame the club for having it go ahead. We have a large squad and would have used a second team anyway in the main.
  8. Fingers crossed for him then. Would like to see him have a good season somewhere.
  9. Very few I believe, but what it did do was have Teemu Pukki focused on achieving the forward spot as his own. Which then led to an incredible return of goals. Failure to take those chances probably meant a certain J Rhodes coming on and claiming that spot as he also had a knack of chipping in. Unlike last season when TP appeared to have little competition ( I understand there were other factors). Hugill up top, Pukki as 10 may have the same effect? Who'd be a manager eh?
  10. Pukki in the number 10 role, Hugill up top would be an interesting combination. Similar to the Rhodes/Pukki situation, from which of course Pukki turned into a goal machine. Can still see three midfielders from Cantwell, Buendia, Vrancic, Steipermann and Leitner possibly going this season.
  11. It is the case (almost sadly) that itfc are an utter irrelevance to us, and have been for many years now. That they themselves furloughed staff whilst being owned by a much richer individual, and in addition have the dubious history of ripping off local businesses and health care providers, find our situation an opportunity to take the p155, speaks volumes. life at poorman road must be dull as dishwater. However, I wouldn't know how depressing it must be for them. I have little interest in them as they are sooooo far out of sight and could not even name a single player they have. Sad club, sad situation.
  12. It wouldn't surprise me if when do get him, that it drives Adam Idah on even more and he becomes our main striker towards the end of this season.
  13. My feelings are mixed on this. Without the home crowd I think we may find it a struggle. After all, who can forget the crowd inspired last minute wins two seasons ago? The momentum those games bring are important to teams like us who have full stadia. This season (especially the first half) will be without full houses and the backing it gives the players. Despite the occasionally mentioned negativity of Norwich fans (by Norwich fans), we are often cited as being a passionate home support. And we have seen what no crowd does for our team at CR. I also feel, unless we do get a Ben Gibson type in and with the expected loss of either or both Aarons and Lewis we could struggle defensively at times (again). So, my prediction (despite being pleased with some of our signings so far) is between 10th to 4th.
  14. We have been crying out for this type of player for a year. Great news in my book as he will see coming here as a challenge and a chance to push on with a skilful, ambitious and adventurous side. A side renowned for good football and a knack of gaining promotions. He will have seen how good Pukki can be and will understand the striker selection situation at 28yrs old. I suspect he can't wait to cause trouble in the oppos 18 yard box when he gets his chance. Just what we needed.
  15. Exhibition / friendly game pace. Sideways, sideways, sideways, back, back, lump up, lose ball, escape a chance, rinse and repeat. What happened to our incisive passing game?
  16. No not in my opinion. We may have had that 4 on the books but they certainly were not on the pitch. Klose had a season long injury and the coaching team wanted to loan out Hanley. With the money we were expecting we should have gone out for another decent CB.
  17. Yes, the bit in bold is hindsight and also correct in every sense. We can not hide from the simple fact we started this campaign with one CB who they were trying to off load on loan (Hanley), one (probably at the time our best one) who quickly obtained a season long injury (Klose) and a teenager who was moved from CDM to CB, plus Zimmermann who was instrumental in the back 4 who let in an inordinary amount of goals last season. If that does not sound like an issue and loud warning on the eve of our return to the PL, I don't know what is! I'm not saying we should have gone into the season with 6 CBs, but we should have gone in with an upgrade of sorts to take us to 4, and the facts I feel back that assumption up.
  18. I never said we needed six 'OTHER' CBs. An Additional one or two was what I said, and yes decent would have been helpful. It's not hindsight though, is it? We started the campaign with a poor defensive record from the season before. One of the CBs was clearly not wanted and was available for sale/loan (Hanley) another was injured before the transfer window shut, one was a very young, inexperienced ex midfielder, and that left Zimmermann. No hindsight necessary there. Foresight perhaps yes that may have helped. Hindsight, certainly not. No idea how much we we would have had to pay for a CB, certainly less than the loss of relegation, not sure why you're asking me that question. In fact as has been proven this campaign, another CB or even two would not have spent all season not playing and would certainly have made the bench at the very least. Are you saying we had enough CB cover at the start of the PL campaign considering how the goals against column looked in the chumps?
  19. We were indeed very unlucky with defensive injuries. However, the failure to secure one or two more decent CBs BEFORE the season commenced is not luck in any sense and that particular area has been our undoing, full stop! the restart was never going to suit us. The team relies on the home crowd and momentum during matches. Without the crowd its 11 v 11 and our 11 need a good home support to get results. Hey ho, we're relegated for the umpteenth time in my supporting city life. However, I certainly do not follow the feeling that we will simply bounce back from the most competitive league in the world.
  20. The ref is an utter home banker (excuse my spelling mistake). His constant free kicks given to arsenal gives them momentum and yet most are 50/50. Other than that I would like to see someone taking a chance and running at them a bit instead of sideways and backwards.
  21. Looking at their run in they will be targeting us for three points to put them virtually safe. Unfortunately
  22. Seeing how Brighton are performing, if we don't beat them on Saturday we deserve relegation.
  23. I believe very few have suggested a change in manager. Change/upgrade/additions to the playing staff yes, but not necessarily a change in manager. Hopefully, if we go down, he will still have the drive to get us back up and wit a few additions and not too many losses it may be possible. His style of play is superbly entertaining and was it not for a few key injuries and had we strengthened a bit more we would be calling for him to be given a Paul lamberk style contract, such as the binners did. Ha ha ha ha ha ha aha aha aa aaha ahaaahhahahaha.
