  1. I wasn't. I don't particularly like the PL and the monopoly established there, but I'd rather we try and improve in that league than float around the championship for ever. To change it we need to be in it.
  2. Are you seriously suggesting this was his fault? He was 'not focused' according to our manager which could mean no end of things. The obvious one is that his head was turned by some attention from another club in a deliberate ploy to do just that. It happens.............all the time People need to stop criticising every single minutia of the club and players, it's not helpful to establishing momentum and results (that's not specifically directed at you GJL)
  3. And there it is in a nutshell. Once the top 6 have the power, the competitiveness (of which there is now very little) nature and chances of success in that league, will be forever gone for anyone except that 6. It will of course happen but under a different guise. The reason? Money! Shame. We could drip down finances and retain competitiveness.
  4. Angus Gunn (albeit on loan) signing for us was pleasing. But for excitement especially in the build up the latest for me was probably RVW. Luciano Becchio was another 🤷‍♂️
  5. Agreed. Lets hope he takes the PL by storm this season. Personally I feel he has, right now gone to the perfect club for him.
  6. Must have been quite an experience being an amateur manager and seeing a world cup winner lining up against your team. Great player for us and really did the local football some good by playing for Gorleston etc.
  7. Shame. When he came here he was initially outstanding but injuries have hampered his career with us. Top chap but probably the right decision (if confirmed) for him
  8. When the scores were coming in I had exactly the same thoughts. A bidding war between the two would be great wouldn't it 🤣
  9. I think she has the look of an older celebrity chef who when the nations favourite, pioneered areas of that genre on TV whilst running a small to medium unfashionable, provincial football club. Helping to stabilise it during an extremely uncertain time and steered (and steering) it through the biggest changes football has ever seen. In addition, she has the look of an achiever in life, who despite the brickbats from various social media experts has actually been part of a unit to keep the multi million pound team NCFC, relevant through said turbulent times. She often gives off an impression of someone who with the right circumstances 'should really' consider an offer for the club if the right one came in. She certainly has not got the look of a charlatan who would sell us up the river to the many suspect suiters out there. Problems? Probably quite a few when looking at the situation. I suspect she knows exactly where we and she is though. With or without the sherry.
  10. I think your assessment on Rupp is harsh. He has been solid in partnership with Skipp over the last two games and I would go as far to say he was one of our better players yesterday. Skipp has been out standing, but is complimented by the more experienced Rupp. On another note: Some posters (not suggesting you Iharman) struggle to see past preconceived narratives regarding players and it clouds judgments. Watching Rupp yesterday play alongside Skipp was very pleasing. It's a shame about the result but that was not down to him or those two.
  11. Slagging off one of our own players is common among ignorant tw4ts who follow us. It's happened for years and it's often a sign of personal insecurity that some people have to be seen to be harsh (moronic as it is) towards an easy target, just to be with what appears to be a crowd. They will of course be first to praise him if he returned and changed our fortunes around.
  12. Totally agree with this assessment. Especially as we know that Quintlla would be putting in cross after cross as he did against Bournmouth.
  13. It was a close game which we could and probably should have won, save for a slip. Skipp and Rupp look excellent in the middle and I can see them two getting better and better. Gibson looked like he has played nearly every game for the last two years , not just a handful. Buendia was rusty and a change tactically some time after the penalty miss, may have changed the dynamic more in our favour. Hugill on before Idah may have been the answer. It was a superb Rooney free kick and other than that they had very little. We are not that far away from putting a decent run together. Again, factor in the crowd at CR and things may well have turned out better, again. Disappointed but not unduly worried.
  14. Yes, a comparable list of wealth to value would be very interesting. However the parameters would be almost impossible to set I feel. Always thought QPR would do better than they have after Tony Fernandes took them over. Lucky us?
  15. Our attacking build up play at Bournmouth was fine, it was the final effort on target that let us down and need addressing. Defensively we look a bit better than last season, though I accept we are playing against a lower standard. Looking forward to seeing Gibson in the starting 11 and Buendia at least. I would like to see us keep Skipp and Rupp in midfield with a another. Must start putting those chances away.
  16. In my mind missing out on those high profile (as they were at the time) European campaigns, did change our history in a negative direction and whilst the club those fans who caused the trouble support have bounced back, we have never really recovered (albeit we have shot ourselves in the foot a few times since)
  17. I meant to add that investment at those specific times would / may have helped us and would have directly affected our future. Whether a change of ownership now is what we need..............god only knows.
  18. Norwich are a club which have often been on the end of bad timing. And relegation from the PL just when the big money started to roll in is probably the best example of this considering we had been holding our own relatively comfortably prior to that. Nine years later we found ourselves back there and low and behold we are essentially off the pace, every time. If we had held on I firmly believe we could have established ourselves and not be the yo-yo club we are today. There are many other examples such as going up with a superb championship wining team a year ago and not dealing with the defence issues may come back to bite us firmly on the arris.
  19. Didn't think he had a great game today and with the amount of crosses we had (which he met very few if any) plus with something like 60% possession we should be getting a better return in regards to chances etc. Personally I think we should change our set up and drop one of Hernandez or Placheta, move TP away from the centre and start Idah or Pugill. Take the pressure off TP, put in a bit more directness and see how it goes. Vrancic did well with the time he had I felt. Who'd be a manager eh?
  20. Thought Rupp was good today. Always looking for the ball and worked well with Skipp.
  21. Spot on. Cantwell, with his endeavours last season has probably earned us a substantial sum this one.
  22. This is a solid midfield. I think Rupp will have a good game today with Skipp behind. Potentially a very interesting game to watch however, lets hope we don't have to chase the game otherwise we may need subs on soonest.
  23. Don't agree with this. He was superb in the Prem overall considering how poor we were. He is one of those players that drive us forward and gives us momentum, which is why we may well miss him this afternoon. It is testament to him that he put the maximum effort in and played well in the PL that we have the interest in him we have. Whilst owing us very little, we are looking at receiving the best part of 20milNot a bad return for a player who is poor, lazy and arrogant. To say he is lazy and arrogant is also below the belt. The chap is in his early 20s and is a fabulous player, he certainly is not lazy and I suspect most do not know him enough to call him arrogant (even though that can be a positive trait in a player) People should get off the backs of our young players and understand it's not always quite a straight forward as it appears. Good luck to the lad.
  24. There's no way to hide the fact that these two missing lessens our chances however, Placheta scored last week and could have had another. He will certainly be wanting to kick on. Pukki is looking sharper and often when there are big players missing, others grab their chance. OTBC
