  1. He played okay first half and possibly start of second, if we are being generous. However, Daniel Farke did not take him off despite him repeatedly making little errors later on. Was it good management by DF that he kept him on and he then delivers the winning goal? I'd like to think so. The bottom line is that if he continues to play as he did for the majority of the second half, we will not be watching too much of Marco Stiepermann this side of Christmas.
  2. I love his awkwardness on the pitch, he just creates problems (for the opposition and us at times). However, I also thought he had a poor second half up to that goal and was surprised he did not come off. I'm not sure we would have seen him with a fit Cantwell available. He does need to produce more, and I'd certainly enjoy seeing his bizarre goal celebrations a lot more often.
  3. Their confidence will be sky high after that. Winning against arguably the best if not one of the best teams at this moment in the league. That win plus the fact we have a number of players who will be getting back to fitness over the next two weeks and things are definitely looking up
  4. I think you will eventually be proved wrong Mullet. He may not be a Pukki or Grant Holt, but he does give us another option and we have been crying out for that in the past. Using him in a last ten minute panic session may not get the best out of him however, this is a long season and I suspect we will be happy he is in our team come the spring.
  5. I wondered that myself. It looks like the defender is purely focussed on trying to disrupt / foul EB as apposed to trying to clear the ball. Doubt it would have ended in a penalty though, EB had already been picked up by the ref for remonstrating against a number of decision. He certainly deserved that goal mind.
  6. Todd Cantwell was one of the very few from our squad, who came through last season (before the restart)with their head held high regarding their performance. The fact he comes from our own academy is the cherry on the top. He certainly does have the ability to change games and his name will be mentioned far more than most this season, by supporters of other clubs. Can he be criticised in respect of his game? Of course he can, and times rightly so. However, some of the childish comments regarding him due to prejudices a few have, are odd and often lack credible evidence other than a wild guess, accusation or down right spiteful. And when that happens expect to be challenged. He did not play against Bristol City, DF got the selection and tactics right. However, he will play a big part in our squad while he is with us. You can be sure of that.
  7. Struggle now a days to have even the slightest interest in ipswich, even though they are supposed to be our rivals an all that. Without sounding too condescending, Marcus evans has done so much damage to them as an entity, they are now generally irrelevant as far as we are concerned. That in my opinion is a shame for many reasons. What ever we think of them, they have for many years been competent opponents to us and it has been interesting on many occasions. However, the tide has turned so far now it has become almost stale. Our newer fans do not really see them as rivals and the loner it goes on they will be viewed as a Colchester in terms of local clubs to East Anglia. I couldn't honestly name one player in their team. that would not have been the case 20-30 years ago. I actually (and i really do) feel a bit for the support down there. It is a proper club local, non fashionable team with (whether we like it or not) a number of genuine , non glory hunting, fans and they have seriously been short changed. The stars on the shirt thing is frankly embarrassing, especially given how long it has been since anything of note came from them. However, it is all they have and the powers that be see it as a selling point. That club is in a massive depression, has been for a number of years and many, including their rivals, are keeping away.
  8. Great moment for him to come on. Liked what I saw very much.
  9. Not quite sure everyone has expressed this specific opinion RB. He is however, a superbly gifted player and would cause us no end of issues if played against us. If he does play for the rest of the season like he did today then people will start start to describe him in that manner. And rightly so
  10. He looks class. At this level anyway.
  11. Agreed. However, i suspect a lot of that was frustration (on the moaners part of course). If he is indeed back to his best, then its going to be an hell of a ride again!
  12. Excellent today and twice in the second half got himself into positions where he would have scored had the better ball been put in. Onwards and upwards
  13. Thought Alex Tettey was great as captain for us. Very loud, urging the team on and generally plays well. However, Hanley gets better each game he plays, looks superbly in shape and leads not only by example but also in encouraging others and demanding effort. Yes he certainly deserves the captaincy.
  14. Same here. Was causing problems for them and certainly adds another dimension.
  15. Spot on. They knew exactly what they were doing. Targeted our usual game changes and block out Pukki. However, there was a drive from midfield this evening that wouldn't stop.
  16. Understandable. It was hidden under the cryptic heading : 'Welcome back Todd Cantwell' πŸ˜…
  17. Agree. Deserves a post of his own, really found his feet and ran the space between defence and attack. Was the reason we scored with his tenacity and looks excellent with Skipp in midfield. perhaps our scouts do know what they are doing πŸ˜²πŸ˜…
  18. That particular halfwit has probably decided to wind his neck in. Superb display by TC, hence Birmingham targeted him. Especially second half
  19. Made me angry, just seeing this again. #showinganangletojustifythewrongdecision
  20. Big fan of Super Tommy Trybull and you know he will give his all on the pitch. However, the recent performances of Rupp and Skipp as a duo have been excellent and he would not get a chance at the moment. Just not sure we should have got rid quite so quick, he is very, very good at this level, in my opinion.
  21. If that is the Ewood park reception area, then that's him tied up as a permanent for sure!
  22. I do agree with the sentiment here. But not the delivery I'm a coach at a club and I can tell you now, virtually every player has a strop or displays a bad attitude at some point for many reasons. If we threw out any player that went into one in training or during a game even we would be reduced to 5 a side. Sensitive souls, players.
