  1. Blimey - they must be bad then! Saints fans on their forum seem to think it will be us they play in the Play Offs.
  2. Agreed. Sooner them than Leeds or Ipswich (especially the former!)
  3. Depends which Farke team from 2019/2020 turned up. The team that beat Newcastle and, of course, Man City or the abject rubbish that we saw on our IFollow screens (or whatever it was) in that appalling Project Restart. The former may have beaten M Walkers' team but the latter most certainly wouldn't.
  4. Which is why if we play Farke we will get thrashed! Imagine Summerville v old man Duffer or the Titanic that is Gibson.
  5. Might well be a taster for Leeds away in semi final second leg!!
  6. Their two goals were simply straightforward headers from corners that we had no ability to deal with. Nothing to do with 'old Wimbledon style'.
  7. 1. The Ricoh (or whatever the latest name is) 2. Stadium of Light 3. Hillsborough 1. is easy to get to, good parking right close by, acoustics of the stadium are superb. 2. Vast amount of space round the ground, friendly fans and a capacity of 46,000 easily the highest in the Championship. Impressive stadium in many respects. 3. Love going there by tram from Meadowhall. Never had any issues with the home fans (unlike the other club!). Clearly in need of major renovation by remains iconic. Why Leppings Lane end was not demolished and rebuilt immediately after 'Hillsborough' remains a mystery. Seeing 'that tunnel' still brings back those memories and I was at Villa Park as it unfolded. Bet that end is haunted.
  8. If you intend to go to the away leg then Yes!
  9. Indeed! I thought that R Martin had blown it after that late defeat down the road but they are closing in on the top three although it still looks a gap too far with games almost done. Southampton away would be a much more 'pleasant' trip than the horrible, bear pit in West Yorkshire but are on the field chances might be better against the latter.
  10. Sara to Newcastle is by far the more likely of the two. Has Sara missed a game all season? He can score and create. A heady mix by PL standards so expect Newcastle to have some stiff competition.
  11. We don't need another carthorse in the centre of our defence thank you!
  12. I only caught the last couple of minutes on Five Live but found the result very satisfactory indeed. Perhaps the media darling will slink away with only the League Cup in his final season?
  13. Nowhere in my original post did I mention Ipswich.
  14. That's 100% irrelevant as you well know.
  15. It was a polite question that's all. 1500 is roughly our normal average travelling support (probably a bit more actually) yet the guy Pateman was hyping up the game as a 'mini semi final away leg'. For such a hyped up game played at a conventional kick off on a Saturday, I was expecting more to travel.
  16. Agreed and was something I openly acknowledged.
  17. I think this is very near the mark. Even with the tremendous points haul since Jan 1st (2nd best in the league), the 'feel good' factor has never (well until last Saturday) returned in any meaningful way. Your last two sentences are worrying. On that premise, IF we get to Wembley, would we actually shift all our tickets?
  18. I really have no idea what you're talking about! Ipswich played Birmingham away back in early November last year.
  19. You may be right and lets hope so! Have spent time this evening investigating a few days away around 17th May on the South Coast. Much as the top three are stumbling, I can't see R Martin catching them. He almost gave it away again today (after being 2-0 up and cruising)!
  20. One thing is evident to me, we haven’t had this much excitement at the business end of the season that we are able to witness first hand since Daniel Farke led us to the title in 2019. This quote was lifted from the Joe Pateman article this week hyping up the 'critical' nature of todays match and billing it as a 'mini play off semi final away leg'. Yes we know our away form and results have left much to be desired (only 5 wins on the road before today) but I was expecting a minimum of 2500 to make the trip considering just under 2000 (apparently) went to Hillsborough. Sheffield is closer than Preston of course but travelling on a Saturday for a conventional15.00 kick off is a hell of a lot easier than a midweek night game in Yorkshire. At Preston they allocate you the whole end if demand is there and it is not uncommon for away teams to take 3,000 +. Admittedly many will have far shorter journeys and cheaper expense than our fans had to endure today but for a match of this significance I was hoping for a higher following. In 2019 we took the entire away end (5,000) at Wigan for a Sunday lunchtime kick off live on Sky. Yes the atmosphere last Saturday was a 'throw back' and exceptional hence disappointing to hear only 1500 made the trip today. My last away match was QPR and I believe we took just under 3,000. London is much easier and cheaper to get to than Preston of course but (at the time) QPR was 'just another match' and carried none of todays so called 'critical' importance. I was very disappointed I couldn't make the game today (recovering from a surgical procedure on my hand) but now feel guilty I wasn't there to help out. Will we sell our allocation for, say. Leeds, Saints or Leicester based on today? This post is in no way a 'criticism' of those who spend huge amounts of time and money travelling the country to away matches. I salute each and everyone of you but I'm sure the club and team would have been anticipating a much higher travelling Yarmy today.
  21. Brilliant from Sara in the build up but what the hell was that keeper doing!!? Watch it from the camera behind the goal and I've no idea what he was thinking.
  22. Indeed and with Mackems doing a job on Albion we have a very real chance of snatching 5th. Their next two games are Leicester and Wednesday away v our two home games. It would be a far more pleasant experience going to Southampton in the away Play Off leg than Leeds!!
  23. Yes that was a seriously super strike. For that alone he deserved to be on the winning side. Wonder what happened to him?
  24. It's you who failed to read the post properly! Nowhere are the words 'fully fit' used.
  25. I can only assume you had not watched that Blackburn game highlights before posting this very intellectual reply?
