Important Announcement from Sky...
York Canary replied to First Wazzock's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Nah, not for me. -
Slightly off the original question but should we go up as Champions...anyone know if a civic reception would take place and if so, when it would likely take place? Iād naturally assume Monday 7th May however the Legend game (Wes vs Russ) is on that day.

Philip Heise
York Canary replied to GJL Mid-Norfolk Canary's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Only seen him a handful of times but reminds me of the lad Dijks we had a couple of years ago. For a full back heās a unit but has the pace and intelligence to be rather effective. Great to have some genuine competition in that position.- 45 replies

Until 2023. Always nice to have some positive contract news during the international break.

We could well be seeing this type of headline if we don't act soon and get Farke and his coaching staff signed up with new deals. With every win and movement up the table, Farke's stock gets bigger and better. Good teams will be watching and monitoring his time in England. It's time to get him signed up for the next 2-3 years, he's more than earned it - let's get it sorted while our club is on the crest of a wave. Come on, Webber! (PS. apologies if the title of this thread caused any stress...!)

Starting XI for Sheffield Wednesday (a)
York Canary posted a topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
There were some excellent individual performances at Bournemouth on Tuesday night, also some injury doubts for the weekend. Based on what we know, whatās your predicted line up for tomorrow? Mine is: Krul Aarons Zimbo Klose Lewis Leitner Tettey Buendia Vrancic Stiepermann Pukki Subs: McCracken, Godfrey, Trybull, Marshall, Srbeny, Hernandez, Idah (taking homegrown rules into account) -
āIt would be an abject failure...ā

I would give this a listen but I canāt stand tweedle dee and tweedle dum from TNC š« -

ā...if we didnāt make the play offs at the end of the season from this positionā Mick Dennis on the AlongComeNorwich podcast. Thoughts? Personally I think thatās rubbish. Iād be disappointed, donāt get me wrong, but weāre not even half way into the season, the league is tight as anything and in perspective, this season is promising to be a huge improvement compared to last. Donāt get me wrong, the play offs (at least!) should be our aim, I just donāt think a well known fan who has links to the board should be putting pressure on with these sorts of statements.

Culverhouse Returns To Kings Lynn As Manager !!
York Canary replied to TIL 1010's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
There were rumours he could be set to join East Angliaās second biggest club, turns out it was true! š -
Pete and team, Iāve been reading these forums since 2003 but have seldom contributed due to the forums being dated for some time. This latest facelift has made it more than usable, particularly on my mobile. Thanks for the hard works thatās been put in, I hope to be contributing regularly going forward š

Fingers crossed he continues the managerial form heās had since he left us - for me the first 3 games are crucial. Preston at home is an absolute must win, no doubt.

If he is given the boot after 360 minutes of league football then that is a new low and Steve Parish needs to have a good look at himself. Do clubs expect a brand new philosophy and approach to bring immediate success? Hodgson would be such an underwhelming appointment for Palace.
I''ll answer your question with a question, have you read this board recently?"
As I typed it, I knew someone would draw parallels to our situation and so they should - success won''t happen overnight. I bet Farke will be looking over his shoulder having seen a British clubs decisive action so early on in the season, not that I think our board would be so decisive (and nor should they be!)

Thanks Til and Diane. Til, I''ll be sure to check the PUP thread, thank you. I guess the influx of foreign players comes with the territory of the new regime, so many players still in the bedding in process of English (and Championship) football - I''m looking forward to a month or two down the line once these players have bedded in.
-
You could argue he''s been in our top three players of the season so far, which for a young player who has hardly touched the Championship prior to this season is a fantastic start. I agree that patience is required with him and other youngsters, quiet games are inevitable but he''s had more good games than he''s had average.

Leon McKenzie retires from Boxing
York Canary replied to Crabbycanary3's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
True Champ, I''m sure his involvement in being a positive force in promoting the importance of mental health will spur him on. Hell of an achievement to do as well as he has in football and boxing respectively. -
Hi all, long term reader of the forum, thought I''d finally take the plunge and get involved. Just an observation from Saturday''s team sheet - Gunn, Maddison and Murphy were our only British players involved from the start with the rest from overseas. Has there ever been so few starting a competitive game for City? This isn''t a criticism as such, merely an observation - whilst I enjoy seeing British (and where possible, local players) pull on the jersey, I ultimately want to see a winning Norwich City side.
