  1. Jerome has always given everything for the club, but you have to accept that nowadays he misses a lot more than he scores; I see no problem with bringing in two new strikers. Once pre season starts all the current and new players will have to learn a new style of play under Farke.
  2. I see the managing director of Ipswich does not think our new system of Webber and Farke will work, and they are going to stick with Mick McCarthy being in charge of all things football. That can only be good news for the rest of the Championship as Ipswich will be guaranteed not to finish in the top 6.
  3. Naismith along with tettey and Martin are prime examples of our older experienced players who take too long on the ball before they do anything with it, often resulting in them giving the ball away.
  4. If he wants to leave and move back north with his family that is fine. If his agent can find a northern club that will give him the security of a longer contract, and match his current wage, that is even better for him. I would not be overly worried about him going to a Championship rival either. He is a good midfielder, but he can be easily replaced with a younger player.
  5. You must have been watching a different player to me then as he was average at best.
  6. Stuart Webber has been ruthless in getting rid of those who are out of contract, or we did not take up the option to extend. He will have to pull something out of the bag to get any club to take Jarvis, especially with his injury record. The same could be said of Naismith, but who will pay the wages for someone who did nothing to set the Championship alight this season, let alone the Premiership the season before. I now see Tettey says he is looking forward to next season; too slow, dodgy knees, but great if you want at least 10 yellow cards and no shots on goal. Finally, I have always liked Howson, but maybe it is time for him to move on.
  7. I will not get too excited yet as this is similar to the Sunderland situation where Moyes wanted him, but it did not happen. I would rather keep Hoolahan who, despite his age, is in my opinion much better value for money than Naismith.
  8. I agree with changes, so why not put out the following team which includes at least seven stars that have played for their country: McGovern Martin, Bennett, Bassong, Turner, Whittaker,Tettey, Mulumbu, Wildschut, Lafferty, Naismith. We need to put these players in the shop window in the hope that some other clubs might want to buy them in the summer; as an incentive we could offer "buy one get one free".
  9. I agree he was constantly in our half, but he did as much standing around admiring the opposition as the defence did.
  10. Agree with you that none of the back 5 came out with any credit tonight. Next season we also need to get rid of Tettey and Naismith who did a lot of shouting and pointing, but not much else. Howson and Wildschutt looked average and the only 2 players who looked up for the challenge for me were Pritchard and Jerome.
  11. From the statement I assume he is talking about Lafferty, Turner, Bassong, and Whittaker. Any thoughts on who else he could be talking about?
  12. Maddison, Godfrey and Pritchard were all on the bench on Tue which suggested Neil was possibly going to give them a chance; none of them got on the pitch in a game we had to win to keep in touch with top 6 . Once again he stuck with his experienced players and he even managed to bring on Bassong to keep a point, and presumably his job. Despite saying he may have made a mistake in relying on his experienced players he continues to do so game after game. Haven only taken 1 point from 9 recently against Rotherham, Burton and Bristol City it is unlikely on that form we will bridge the 9 point gap. If we see Martin, Tettey and Naismith against Blackburn on Saturday then it tells me we will continue to get the same team and same results for the foreseeable future whilst Neil is the manager.
  13. Firstly I was not aware we had a director of football and secondly if Neil stays he will want to keep his own coaching staff. I would certainly not go for Nigel Worthington in any capacity as we have already given him a big pay off for failing.
  14. IMO the most important decision a manager has to make is deciding who should be his captain. This player should lead by example, and be the inspiration to the rest of the team. I am not sure how many of the top ten sides have a centre back as captain, but Newcastle and Brighton certainly do, and they both look like inspirational leaders on the pitch. I would move Dijks to centre back and give him the armband, he has certainly inspired me since his arrival. I also thought Howson did a good job earlier in the season, but as soon as Martin recovered from his injury he got the armband back.
  15. He is Scottish and we paid a lot of money for him.
  16. Warburton would be fine with me. he had Brentford playing really good football.
  17. It is a shame our current management team could not all go to Rangers and we can invite Warburton and his team to join Norwich.
  18. I agree 100% with Yellowbeagle in respect to the central defence concerns and Tue night against Newcastle was a classic example; again at Burton it was all too easy for the opposition. How many times have we seen the long ball or ball over the top catch our defence out this season. A captain should inspire his players and I am not sure Russell Martin is that inspiration on current form. From the current squad I would prefer someone like Howson to take the captain armband for the rest of the season, or maybe Dijks after his swashbuckling performance against Newcastle.
