1. Clearly those who choose the players for man of the match poll didn''t think he was outstanding, as they didn''t even include him in the options.
2. Just for once It would be nice to see Farke think "outside the box" and leave 2 of our quicker players up on the halfway line when the opposition have a corner. Ipswich left one up for our corners on Sunday and straight away we kept 2 back to mark him. I am not convinced Farke ever has a plan B so it is always going to be easy for the opposition manager to know exactly how we are going to play.
3. I guess Oliveira is more than happy as he is still getting a nice monthly pay packet, isn''t playing and probably not putting much effort in on the training ground, It speaks volumes that he has not gone to any other club here because nobody is prepared to waste money on him. I really look forward to the day when we can get him and Naismith off our wage bill.
4.
Rhodes is a goal poacher nothing more and nothing less, never has been anything else and never will be but against Leeds we defended at least 3 corners in the second half that i noticed with 11 men in our box obviously that included Rhodes so when the ball was cleared we had no outlet and back into the box it came again. Now i wonder what genius gave him that tactical gem to play with ?
I cannot remember a game where Farke hasn''t had all 11 players in the box for a corner or free kick, and invariably the opposition still score. Firstly we have strikers in there who get in the way of defenders and secondly if we do head it out it comes straight back in again. Just for once I would like to see Farke leave two of our quicker players on the halfway line, at least the box would not be so congested and our defenders might stand a chance of picking up the runners.
5. In both the West Brom and Leeds games we played excellent football for the first quarter of the match, but for some unknown reason we could not sustain it for the full 90 mins. The early atmosphere in both those games was electric, just like the old days, and must surely have spurred the players on. I can''t work out whether it Is a fitness problem and we cannot play at that pace for the full game, or perhaps it is a confidence problem because we haven''t been able to put ourselves in a match winning position. What is clear is that Farke needs to sort it out soon or else the pressure for him to remain in charge might become too much. I get the impression sometimes that he treats football like a game of chess and he is trying to wait for the opposition manager to make a mistake. Unfortunately football is played on a pitch and the players don''t do what you expect them to.

7.
Yes something similar to stevenage? Mcgovern Passlack Aarons Godfrey Zimmerman Thompson Steipermann Marshall Buendia Cantwell Srbeny . I''d imagine farke must know the importance of the ipswich game and the implications for him if it goes wrong....especially with an appointing-a-new-manager sized 2 week international break immediately following. .
I see nothing wrong with fielding the team above for the following reasons: A. If today''s team can''t beat Leeds they won''t beat Cardiff. B. It will ensure none of those players will get injured or sent off before the Ipswich game. C. More importantly, it gives those squad players valuable playing time, and an opportunity for Farke to look at the likes of Aarons, Passlack and Cantwell.
8. Both these sides are in the top half for a reason and that is they play high tempo attacking football, a bit like we did for the first 30 mins against West Brom.
9. Thanks to Sky I have been able to watch some of the other Championship sides live this week. Whilst the subs and tactics did work against Preston last night it will be different against sides like Brentford, Villa, Leeds, Middlesboro, Swansea, Bolton, and Wigan who all play high tempo, quick passing and movement football. We played that style ourselves for the first 30 mins against West Brom and they didn''t have a look in. It was unfortunate that 2/3 individual errors cost us that game, but that is the type of football I would like to see us play on a regular basis.
10. It was a relief to get that first win, but if we play like we did in the first half against Leeds on Sat, then I fear the worst. We were lucky tonight that Preston did not close us down because this continual sideways and backwards passing is just asking for trouble. Tonight I fully expected to see something like the first 30 mins against WBA when we played fast attacking and exciting football, which I hadn''t seen from Norwich for a long time, but it was completely the opposite.
11. Sums Farke up I am afraid. I have lost count of how many sideways and backwards passes we have made.
12. Don''t worry we have plenty of possession. This is so dire it is hard to believe we are the home team.
13. Tettey in again and replaced Marshall at RB by Pinto who also cannot play at RB. What do Thompson and Godfrey have to do to get a start.
14. My biggest worry is that Farke will not play either Godfrey or Thompson but will persevere with Tettey and Trybul. The Preston game is an opportunity to put out a youthful and attacking side and give the opposition something to worry about. At present a midfield trio of Tettey, Trybul and Leitner will get bypassed every time by the opposition when they push forward with any pace.
15. I like the look of that team and would probably only swap passlack for Aarons
16. Not the perfect start, but the first half against WBA showed that we are capable of playing very good football under Farke. He has not been able to field the same side for all 3 matches for a variety of reasons which doesn''t help. We clearly need a RB who is used to playing that position. Whilst Tettey, Trybul and Leitner are decent players we clearly missed having McLean today. I would like to see Farke give Thompson and Godfrey a chance possibly in place of Tettey and Trybul. Hernandez, Pukki and Rhodes seem to be linking up well and we are scoring goals. We haven''t been played off the park and all three games could easily have been won or at least drawn. Look at the early results last season and I would suggest we have moved on and we should all get behind Farke.
17. The first 30 minutes against WBA was some of the best football I have seen us play for a long time. We did make some silly mistakes, but we are only 2 games into the season. Most successful sides are built on a solid defence so, subject to injuries and suspensions, I would like Farke to stick with the same defenders for league games, as opposed to having different partnerships every game. After only 2 games we are creating more chances and scoring more goals, which is an improvement on last season. We have youngsters like Lewis, Thompson, Godfrey, Cantwell and Aarons who will have a part to play this season. We have a match winner in Hernandez who will frighten every defence with his pace; not to mention Buendia who by all accounts has some pace and trickery as well. This is now Farke''s squad and I think we should judge him at the end of the season; personally I believe we are heading in the right direction.
18. West Brom took a corner and all eleven City players were in the box against 7 opponents; yet once again we conceded a goal. I just cannot get my head around why Farke insists on playing this way for corners. Even if by chance we managed to head the ball away there were 3 West Brom players unmarked outside the box waiting to pick the ball up.
19. If you can take a positive out of the situation it is a lot cheaper to pay the contract of a player we don''t want, than that of some managers we didn''t want. This time next year nobody will care who is paying Naismith''s wages because it won''t be us. Now we can focus on what to do with Oliveira, Pinto, Jarvis and McGovern.
20. The squad is getting stronger with each new acquisition. Another striker, right back, and a decision on first choice keeper and we are ready for the pre season. I am sure many other Championship sides would like to be in that position. I am confident we will be in the top six come the end of the season.
21. All the players below have ben sold for very good fees and we now have money in the bank to look for replacements: Pritchard and Murphy wanted to leave for the Premiership Maddison was always going to the Premiership There were not many who wanted Watkins to stay In addition we could still sell Oliveira, Pinto, Naismith, Martin, Franke, Wildshutt and possibly McGovern to bring in more money. The main squad currently includes Hanley, Klose, Zimmermann, Lewis, Raggett, Husband, Stiepermann, Tettey, Trybul, Vrancic, McLean, Buendia, Srbeny, and Hernandez. Meanwhile, we still have some very good returning youngsters in Godfrey, Thompson, Matthews and Cantwell, who could feature next season; not forgetting those in the under 23 squad. If we can sign / loan two good strikers, a right back and a keeper I believe the rebuild is almost complete and we should be ready to compete next season. I still have faith in Webber getting it right.

23. I think we have to be realistic and accept that some of our younger players need to go out on loan to get the experience of playing first team football, rather than at under 23 level. Not all of those players are guaranteed to play in the first team squad when they return. Both the Murphy brothers went on loan, played well and then returned to play in the first team. The fact that we sold them both for around 20m is really good business for a club our size. Yes we could have kept both of them, but is it fair to stop them having a chance to play at a higher level. Godfrey, Morris, Matthews and Cantwell have played well for their loan clubs this season and are now back at Norwich. If we ignore Morris because of his injury, how likely is it that the other three will be guaranteed regular first team football next season. Godfrey will compete against Tettey, Trybul and Thompson for the defensive midfield slot, so if someone offered 3-5m should we let him go. Matthews could be first choice keeper, but we are being linked with a number of other keepers, and we still have McGovern. Cantwell could be used as a wide player alongside Hernandez, Buendia and Wildshutt. I think Webber has the strategy right and the more players we sell for a good profit, might just give us a chance to buy the players we need to get us back in the Premiership.
