  1. Bolton are the only ones who have matched the valuation of Yanic if todays rumours are to be believed.
  2. '''' why don''t we ever spend money? we need an established striker!'''' ''''aaaah no not that one! why are we spunking all our money?'''' repeat ad nauseum
  3. Agree LDC, I think a lot was being made of Farke''s tactics but with the right personnel being less wasteful we may just see the upside to his style of play
  4. I bet if he does join the fees are considerably less than the figures that have been floating about.
  5. I''m excited to see if we can get him firing, definitely has a knack of popping up at the right place in the box. People who want experienced champ quality rather than unknowns shouldn''t moan at this, he may have had a dry spell but there''s a decent poacher in there...
  6. On loan from Borussia Dortmund. Right back/ wing back...
  7. Any news on the lad? Wondering if he is likely to feature soon or anyone knows more on this rumoured attitude problem?
  8. Ray, I feel you are implying that DF has frozen out Martin and Naismith based on their stance on some issue within the team hierarchy and as a way of stamping his authority on a situation. Is that in the ballpark? Allegedly of course!
  9. norfolkngood, is that your guess about Pritchard and Maddison or is it based on some knowledge behind the scenes? Thanks
  10. Do you think we''ll get any more players in before deadline day?
  11. I seem to recall in fairly recent times that some people felt we didn''t have enough songs and repeated OTBC too much. I thought the atmosphere last night was good and enjoyed the variation
  12. haha Van Wink he''s ideal for televised matches. Well, highlights anyway..
  13. Thanks, yeah I''m quite intrigued as he seems like he might offer something a bit different. Last person I said that about was Canos though!
  14. Having not yet seen him play, I was hoping to catch a glimpse of him on Sunday. Anyone think he''s likely to get a look in tonight?
  15. I was hoping to see Vrancic in action on Sunday as I''m yet to see him play. Anyone think I''m likely to get a glimpse tonight or has he not been worthy of a place?
  16. Personally I don''t think Naismith had a bad game, admittedly he could have been more of an attacking threat but he was tidy in possession and worked hard. Also, sadly in this day and age I think you need someone like him hassling the ref and being a nuisance, especially in a team lacking many real physical ''streetwise'' type players. I was more concerned with Watkins being so anonymous and Wildschutts lack of technical skill. His physical attributes are impressive but he never looks fully in control of the ball!
  17. Surely Nick Mashiter is the man to ask about Wildschut
  18. So Mashiter was the first one to get a scoop of the big clearout?
  19. If it''s Heckingbottom I hope his current team''s defensive frailties are down to the squad and not his ability to organise them
  20. Ray, forgive me if I''m wrong but I get the feeling you are either related to Russ or work closely with him in some capacity, which has given you the insight to form these views of him??
  21. Could someone who doesn''t think AN is honest please explain why or give an example please? As far as I can see he gives a very open and frank appraisal of things from his point of view. Even if I didn''t agree with him I wouldn''t call it dishonest...
  22. MM''s style of football may have had enough ''''success'''' for him to be deemed a good manager, but if he rolled up as a replacement for AN this board would be in meltdown after 3 or 4 games watching hit and hope merchants trying to nick a set piece, completely bypassing any technically gifted midfielders as the ball sails over their head.
  23. Attitude and ability are hard to quantify. It takes a big man to admit he was wrong, it takes an even bigger man to give a giraffe a haircut.
