  1. Found a cracking pork pie shop in Lincoln when my daughter was at uni there. Up near the cathedral - Redhill Farm Shop in the Bail at 89 Bailgate - well worth a visit!
  2. Saw them at the UEA in November and I was amazed at how little Ian Broudie had changed unlike Ocean Colour Scene who had filled out a bit to say the least!
  3. We are Norwich, No One Likes Us, We Don't Care! - can't see it catching on personally.
  4. This is the sort of thread that put me off maths at school!!!
  5. Great photo which I have never seen before, I assume taken during construction.
  6. Thanks for that - it's been bugging me for weeks!
  7. Sorry, but I'll never think lager.... I'm far too stout for that!
  8. That's all well and good but can anyone tell me the lyrics to the Josh Sargent song sung to the tune of Manfred Mann's Do-Wah-Diddy-Diddy???
  9. There's some new signs at the station too which under the Ipswich sign say 'Home of Ipswich Town Football Club...blah blah Premier League' - I mean where else would it be???? Perhaps people think they groundshare with Col Who!
  10. What makes you think I'm bothered about England???
  11. I still have no idea how it works and don't intend to bother to find out!
  12. For probably the only time in 60 years, I left the game early at 5-0 so didn't get held back!
  13. Just started subscribing again to WSC after giving up in the early 2000s - very impressed and great coverage of football across the board.
  14. In no particular order - Losing 6-0 to Man City in the FA Cup (1980-81) followed by my car breaking down on the M62 on the way home. My first ever away game - a 3-0 defeat to Leicester (Aug 1969) made all the better for getting a good kicking from some Leicester skinheads. Any game at Grimsby (apart from when we did them in the 1985 League Cup QF). Others already mentioned - the crush at West Ham, the 3-0 defeat to Wimbledon at Selhurst Park, the Simon Tracey debacle in goal at Everton in the FA Cup, the Leicester game and O'Neill departure. The list is endless 😂
  15. Actually, the small print on the rear of my ticket for the England match clearly says 'Persistent standing is not allowed, unless in designated areas that have rail seating, and may lead to ejection'. So your theory about UEFA/FIFA rulings can't be right. And there were definitely some people towards the back of the Lower Barclay who stood throughout the match.
  16. 26th September 1964 - a 2-0 home win against Leyton Orient. My Uncle Des took me and we stood in the South Stand. Aged 9, I was more intrigued with the noise from the Barclay, where I have largely stood ever since. Will be celebrating 60 years of hurt/joy/hurt/joy (you get the picture) in just over two months time.
  17. I thought the railed seating worked really well. Sat in a different part of the Lower Barclay than normal and actually sat (for about the first time in 20 odd years!) The railings were great to lean against in a sitting position and were also a good height for when we stand during the coming season. Glad to see they have put some in the away bit as well so that away fans have a choice. Just out of interest was anyone else who attended confused over the attendance figure that was announced on the night? They announced a figure of just over 23000 so, in theory, there should have been about 4000 empty seats. At most there were about 1000 empty seats, mainly in the away section and right behind the dugouts in the City Stand where two areas were reserved for the two team squads. The rest of the ground was full. I hope that we aren't being diddled by the FA!!!
  18. So forgotten, it's a sell-out. Can't wait to test out the railed standing/seating in the Barclay.
  19. Well, they'll definitely need double figures of portaloos as it's a sell-out!
  20. I was a hard nut in the Barclay so never had the joy of the open River End apart from about three games - a big win over Everton in which I think Ted MacDougall scored (took a girlfriend who had never been to a game before); a game against Bristol City where the Barclay decided to stand in the River End in the second-half under the old TV camera position and chant some obscenities which the Match of the Week microphones couldn't fail to pick up; and the infamous Man United game in the late 70's (as seen on BBC Nationwide) when the incursion of United fans into our part of the Barclay led to us evacuating over the railings at the front and walking round the pitch to the River End.
