1. I will never forget Patrick Boyle because of a Pink''un headline when he was signed on loan. ''Boyle in the bag''

3. Hey diddle diddle, the cat and the fiddle, the wrath is over the moon! When City went, up with the play-off cup .........................................................?   C''mon guys, finish it! Your little ryhme deserves a much better ending, but all I can come up with is Hey diddle diddle, the cat and the fiddle, the wrath is over the moon! When City went, up with the play-off cup ''And returned to the league they rightfully belong''. I''m sure others will come up with much funnier lines at the expense of the wrath.
4. Morty wrote: "Anyone know if Rusty is playing regularly for them?" He was an unused substitute for the first three or four games. I think he made his first league start in their last game, which they lost. I like to have a quick peep at match reports involving clubs with recently departed former canaries in - just to check that they are not making too much of an impact elsewhere and that there may be reason to regret their departure - so for that reason I have also been keeping half an eye on Brentford, who have been languishing near the bottom of league one. For tomorrow''s game, I don''t know whether to predict a defeat in the hope that I am wrong or be bold and go for a win - I hate predicting draws (which normally means good performance but just one measly point). I''ll be brave and go for a 2-0 win to city, and then I can be a "play-off dreamer" once again.
5.

Yep that was awsome. Great effort. Martin is a legend!!!!!!!!!!
pathetic. you obviously dont know $hit. r.i.p. roy
I''m curious to know what in Canaryfan''s short message causes such great offence? I am sure the first part refers to the ceremony, and the last sentence is just an additional reaction to the win today and his/her favourite player getting the winner.
6. All sounds very urgent, Missing in action. Have the club offered you a trial? Are you late for training?Have you missed training? Is there a 5pm press conference?
7. I''m sure I remember there being a drum at a home game against Bury in the late 1990s. City were leading 2-1 with the game heading into injury time. There had been this incessant drum breat accompanied by an equally annoying chant for almost all of the preceeding 10-15 minutes. It came to an abrupt end when Bury equalized right at the end of the game. (Barclay End). As the ball crossed the line so the beat was replaced by a stunned silence. The dreadful din seemed so uncool, and gave the impression that the game had been won. Really would have been justified leaving early on the grounds of wanting to protect my sanity. I would not have been surprised if it affected the players'' concentration. The things a football supporter has to suffer. I''m sure my memory serves me correct(ly). Can anyone else recall that game?
8. "its much easier to type than talk though" "at least these people have the bollox to ring up rather than just sniping on here " - Pennywise Agreed. I''m sure there are a plenty of posters on here with the ''face'' for radio. They should give it a go.
9. Having just got the Blackburn result and scoreline correct, I''m ready for another go. So, 2-1 or 3-1 to City, depending on the amount of injury time. It''s statistically proven now that we will always score a 90th minute or injury time goal, PL will say  "They/He were/was terrific", and someone - be it commentator, reporter, interviewee or whoever - will refer to the Norwich City "fan-base". There''s a good chance most of the above will happen. And messrs Earnshaw, Bertrand and Camp to have poor games for Forest - just this once. Ahh, at last I''ve got my post-count into double figures.
10. I said earlier that I think we''ll lose, but I don''t really have much of a clue for scoreline forecasts. However I reckon I can accurately predict the post-match reaction from the managers PL: "The lads that have come in have done terrific ..." SA: "This was a potential banana skin, and I told my lads to do a job for me tonight ... (followed by the usual old cr*p)"
11. 3-1 or 4-1 to Blackburn, and a chance to ''concentrate on the league'' until the beginning of Jan.  no fresh injuries, a run out for the likes of Askou, Fox et al. to keep them match fit and ready. And once we''ve chalked up a few more league wins, the game will be largely gone and forgotten. Well that''s what normally happens and what I have seen in my crystal ball.
12.  I didn''t miss either goal, and I didn''t even have to leave the comfort of my living room  here in Thailand, staying right to the end planted on the sofa. Courtesy of Goal TV''s live coverage of the game I was able to watch all 95+ minutes of action on cable TV with a pretty good view as well. With regard to the main incidents in the last few minutes - unfortunately, only got one replay of the foul leading to the penalty, but my reaction was that it was a certain pen. and I was expecting a red card to be shown. It was the sort of coverage where there was only a few moments of after-match summary - so no further comment or replays of the penalty incident. ''Ruddy'' great save though, and great goals at the end. Stand out players seemed to be Korey Smith and Ward and the  rest of the defence. The high tempo start lost impetus, and I thought Swansea looked pretty classy. I am expecting them (Swansea) to be challenging near the top of the table, and hopefully one of the better sides in the division. Sinclair was particulary dangerous I thought. So, having witnessed a string of defeats in the last few years, it seems that the curse of live TV has finally been broken, and a great evening of telly viewing. The camera gave a close up of the radio Norfolk commentary ''box'', with Neil on the mic. and the TV commentator mentioned that it is to be named after Roy Waller.  Pretty accurate and fair commentary, and knowledgeable on all things Norwich City - even a comment that Stephen Fry couldn''t attend today''s game due to work commitments. Another great finale to a city game! Glad you enjoyed it ''nana. Next week  I''ll probably have no choice but to ''watch'' the game through the internet through text updates on this and other websites - far more nerve-wracking than actually watching the game.
13. If the club, according to another thread, drives away its working class fans, I suppose it will be posh. [:)]
14. The title of this thread reminded me of a headline I read in  (cough, cough) the Sun following Efan Ekoku''s hatrick in Norwich''s 3-0 win against Vitesse Arnhem back in 1993 - "Ekoku is Efan Brilliant"  -  (or maybe Efan was spelt ef''n) It could ony come from the Sun. A ''lol'' moment indeed. Hopefully John Ruddy''s performances this season will inspire headlines with similar sentiments to the Sun''s rather than those alluded to by the title of this thread.
15. Sorry to add another thread along the lines of "Who''s watching the game in some far flung place or other?" This Norwich City ''fanbase'' that new signings love to refer to, seems to be a global phenomenon.[:)] For those canary fans living in Thailand, I would just like to make you aware of some of the TV coverage of Norwich games if you didn''t already know. I subscribe to a local Cable TV service, and as I was channel flicking yesterday I came across GoalTV advertising live coverage of tonight''s game against Watford.  There is also a Thai cable channel that extensively covers the Championship, so I am expecting to have a choice of commentary language to boot! If anyone in this part of the world is aware of any other potential options for TV coverage, please post the details.I had a quick look on the GoalTV website, and it seems they will be covering 3-4 live championship games a week. As this will also include the traditional 3pm Saturday KOs, I''m expecting to see quite a few Norwich games this season. Tonight''s 01:45 KO may leave me feeling a little grouchy while working on Saturday, but I''ll take that chance.
16. Do you think any of them are ready yet for the 1st team? I think PL should loan some out for experience before rushing them into championship football
17. their profile name is "LinkNR9",so just a wee joke I would assume.  I was as puzzled as you until I saw the name.
18. I  agree with the op. Charlton have just "dropped" 4 points from their last two "winnable" home games, while we have been able to "grind out" wins and therefore consolidate our position in the automatic promotion places. Charlton now have three consecutive away games - Walsall, Swindon, Bristol Rovers - while we travel to Milwall and Brighton. I would be surprised if they will have narrowed the gap too considerably by the date of our next home games, even allowing for our challenging fixtures. Another good result for us yesterday was Southend''s comeback against Swindon, another potential rival for automatic promotion. All in all our results and those of our rivls  have gone so favourably for us recently that the current table almost looks like the sort of  bbc prediction table that I would get when I have fed in my ''dream'' results scenario over a number of weeks - with everything in favour of Norwich. 92ish points seems to be a reasonable target for second place now ....  but of course, one step at a time.
