1.
Strength in depth will win this league Jools.
We''ve one of the largest squads in the Division consisting of 6 forwards in Jerome, Naismith, Lafferty, Morris and the Murphy brothers -- I suppose it depends on AN choosing to field two up front for the majority of the season, but it''s more likely than not (unfortunately) that he''ll opt for one up front in future away games, in which case we have enough to go with [Y]
 2.
Jools, pretty sure Pritchard will replace Murphy once he''s settled. Would also think Assombolonga would be more of a threat to Jerome than Murphy!
Golden rule no 1 where football managers are concerned: Only drop a player if he''s off form or a drastic change in formation/tactics is required - otherwise, leave it as [Y]Great first half and superb performance for Murphy thus far [Y]
 3.
No, we definitely need another Centre Forward. We want to scare the poop out of teams. Assombolonga has scored, and Forest are losing, so that might be an easy decision for him! Even Laffs might get on today.................
So, sign Assombolonga Monday and play him ahead of Jacob Murphy against Sheffield Wednesday Saturday [:O] Way to go on how to diminish a players morale [:|]
 4.
A rumoured target has also scored - Assombalonga 😉 A good win today will send out a real message to the league - and not only that, crucially, players we want to sign too 👍
I honestly don''t think we need to sign anyone - maybe a centre-half, but definitely not a striker.

We don''t need to sign any strikers. If our ''equivalents'' to Marcus Rashford can''t find the passion nor skill to start knocking them in, what the f*ck is the point of paying the wages, the academy, coaches or us as a f*cking football team?
Looking forward to your season review after we finish 7th, with Carlton Morris scoring 3 in 38 appearances.
So if that were the case, would you question the Board on why he was kept on the books so long and why it hasn''t worked out for most, if not all, the FA Youth Cup winning side? And has it ever entered your head to question why we continue to sign youth players from elsewhere despite that FA Youth Cup winning team?Or do you really believe football pans out like Championship Manager 01/02, like your reply suggests?
Curious that you mention CM01/02 specifically - incidentally my favourite iteration of the game. Niche response, but eerily accurate. It''s a difficult balance, and I would love to see youngsters coming off the Academy conveyor belt a la Southampton, but realistically the manager changes so much at any football club, his first priority is always instant success, and that can rarely be achieved by investing in youth players and giving them lots of first-team football. The difficulty is that the FAYC-winning team were Adams''s babies, and for whatever reason they haven''t kicked on in the way that we''d hoped. With Cat 1 status, you can recruit and retain talent from further afield, and coupled with the improvements at Colney over the summer this should (theoretically at least) pave the way for a more talented crop of youngsters coming through in a couple of years.
Seriously, FtW - the only way forward via nurturing home grown players is to employ German or Spanish ( notably the former) coaches in order to import brains to the athleticism of the lads.

Just feck the feck off you fecking fecker.
F*ck of yourself, Bor [:P] And take your countless alter egos with you [:D]Who the feck is smudger? [:|]
 9.
given our recent record of players coming through the academy into our first team there is a very reasonable case for disbanding it altogether....we''re spending a lot of money every season to maintain a grade A academy status, to just release youngsters at the end of their contracts and supply lower league teams and the likes of Lowestoft with a new intake every summer. we''d be better off carrying on with what we''re presently doing with the likes of Maddison,Godfrey,Thompson and just scouring young talent from lower league club''s first teams and snapping them up.
[Y]

 11. Good signing - decent AM/winger - hopefully fielded on the wing...But a huge kick in the gonads for the Murphy''s -- again [:|] Though they mightn''t be too concerned as long as they''re on a significant payroll [:P]Such is the state of the modern game [:(]

 13.
Fuzzar, it''s a long season, so a big squad certainly isn''t a bad thing as there''s no 25 man limit in the Champ remember. I reckon it''s make or break year for a lot of those players further down the list such as the Murphy''s, Toffolo and Morris. Especially if we get promoted at the end of the season, if they aren''t on the fringes of the first team at least then they''ll do well to get in the 25 next year.
I appreciate we play another eight games plus any potential Cup runs, but we seriously have too large a squad as things stand - large squads are all well & good if a manager knows how to exercise damage limitation via a players morale by tinkering too much and ANs tenure thus far, especially in the Premier, does suggest that he''s big on experimentation, yet full of appeasement when it comes to what he regards as stalwart players.
 14.

from Olsson''s agent: “Martin is very clear that he does not want to play in the Championship and he wants to take the next step. He would particularly like to play in the Premier League, when he was so good in the Championship too. Martin is not a Championship player. But we do not give up. We are optimistic.” So thats him out. Brady to follow and McCormack not coming. The cracks are showing....
There you go, lakedistrictcanary [:|]
Has no bearing on the points I made.
Yes, it does actually. That hat - which charity?
 15.

Hope we''ve got his replacement lined up
Can''t see the problem we can play Whitts at LB along with Bassong in the middle doing his Ali Shuffle. No problem to keep out of the bottom 3, Just
Don''t even jest, Daly [:|] Whittaker at LB is probably the plan [:$]
 16.
Hope we''ve got his replacement lined up
Looking like Harry will have to step up to the plate until we sign another left-back with the 3m we receive for Olsson.
 17.
Around the 5 million plus mark. String whoever out for longer and more if possible. Do a Fulham.......
Be interesting to know what we paid Blackburn for him, but no one is going to pay 5m for his services - Patrice Evra went to Juventus for 1.5m just two short years ago, ffs [:S] Olsson doesn''t want to be here and he will prove detrimental to our cause if we hold out - take the 3m [Y]
 18.
Jools   If nobody else wanted him, why would the club tie him into a 2 year contract ?
Yeah, true enough, I didn''t think of it like that -- good thing we''ve sealed his contract before the Barcelona''s & Man Utd''s come knocking then [Y]
