  1. What would you say he has learnt?
  2. I agree with what you say, think about it from the point of view of the midfielders who are sat on the bench or can't get in the squad, yet Pukki might be keeping them out of the team because he can't do his own job? Do the other players expect him to be scoring and does it affect the dynamic of the team? I stress that this is devils advocate country.
  3. You gentlemen pleading for Rupp to start on the left of midfield. How many times did the game stop while he limped round a big circle to try and get back onto his right foot? Why don't you put him on the right? He can't kick the ball with his left foot, watch the games, he does it lots.
  4. And you could add to that reasoning, Farke tends to go with what he knows.
  5. And Emi, it was said by the Clubs recruitment dept that Emi was overweight when we brought him here and they spent time developing his fitness.
  6. Most of our shots were blocked by defenders Hoggy, it was pretty congested. And as you imply, we haven't moved on from two seasons ago.
  7. Sky basically saying what we know, that Farke has everything go through the central areas. If wingers go forward, usually they turn inside or play the ball inside long, long before they reach the box. So the the central area we have most of our players and most of the opposition players, no wonder we can't find a way through. The more passes we play, the more time it gives the opposition to get back and defend. It's not rocket science.
  8. I'd probably say that Emi made the goal happen with his pass.
  9. Interesting you put Rupp on the right of midfield. It was painful watching him on the left against Birmingham. Can Skipp play better on the left or were you thinking that Vrancic would settle there?
  10. It was quite painful to watch, but many players seem lightweight, focus on the gym for a few months and suddenly look like absolute monsters. It was just my observation at the time.
  11. Probably best not to compare Emi with Rupp. The difference between a Council painter and Monet.
  12. He didn't get the relatively meaningless assist stat because he didn't assist. He tackled the player in midfield, the ball sprang free, Emi put the excellent pass for Idah to develop, Vrancic slotted it in off Idah's toe. Yes, it was a timely tackle in midfield, no he did not have control over where the ball went to, yes Emi did a fantastic pass, and we'll never know if Idah would have scored but we're all glad Vrancic did. You might also say that Emi or Idah or even Vrancic did the key work. Watch it again. Yes he made a tackle but he's not the Messiah.
  13. I'm thinking that it's hilarious how many pinkun posters instantly resort to personal insults, perhaps because starting an argument is more preferable to them than trying to actually find any facts to back up their reasoning.
  14. I understand that opinions are cool and we both have different ones. Rupp has consistently hit shots straight at the keeper and not provided assists in any game he played this year. It's not quite November, plenty of time yet.
  15. He was being thrown about like a rag doll in the games I saw. Maybe he's in the gym bulking up, wouldn't be the first player to do that.
  16. Sorensen looked to be lightweight when he played DM.
  17. Farke clearly said he sees Vrancic as an AM rather than a DM. He also said we have lots of AM's all clamouring for game time.
  18. Rupp does move forward and shoot. He doesn't score, normally his shots go straight into the keeper, compare with McLean for example who aims for the bottom corners. He doesn't make assists. Skipp doesn't get forward as much and shoot, he did put quite a few ball through against Birmingham. As I understand, Skipp is supposed to be DM rather than AM anyway?
  19. Skipp played far more passes forward to the attacking players in advanced areas of the pitch than Rupp did. Majority of Rupps passes were straight back two or three yards to the player who gave him the ball. A tiny fraction of his passing was forwards, the bulk of it was sideways or backwards. Imagine being one of the attacking players running up the pitch and a midfielder constantly stops, turns round in a circle because he can't kick with his left foot, and then gives it back towards his defence. Skipp probably had a lower stat of 'successful passes' because he tried to thread several balls through defensive lines to attacking players. They didn't all reach their intended destination but at least he was trying to create opportunities. Much like the way Emi probably has a lower pass completion stat than Rupp or McLean.
  20. 1) Todd certainly gets about and puts his heart into it. 2) I got bored of watching Rupp go in circles because he was on the left yet can't kick the ball with his left foot. At least Skipp played some creative passes forward to try things, some didn't come off but at least he tried. 3) Mario didn't look very happy, perhaps because he's not getting game time? 4)Emi was heavily involved, watch again and keep your eyes on him. 5)Pukki shouldn't be starting games, his job is to score goals and he gas been a passenger recently. 6)We had Xavi and Aaron's starting, maybe look at crossing to Hugill and Idah rather than trying to walk it through eight defenders in the centre.
  21. I wasn't able to watch last night, did we put crosses into the box onto Hugill's head, or did we keep trying to thread it through the middle on the floor?
