Great reply LDC, once again highlighting a bizarre view of footballing matters, good evening sir! -

So you are saying that you think he deliberately hit the ball at the defender hoping it would go through his legs rather than wide of him as he would not have time to react? Sorry, he just knocked it towards the goal without taking aim as who would aim at the defender? The fact that it knicked the defender sending it through the keepers legs makes it in my opinion a fortunate goal. It is also totally different to the penalty situation as the ball was moving, the player was moving and he had a defender between him and the keeper and less than a split second to hit the ball. A fortunate goal by a superb player who totally deserved some luck imo. -

Yes Lazza, I have watched lots of professional football, I agree pro's frequently knock the ball through players legs but not from that distance when shooting at goal, in my opinion it was a slight mi**** that nutmegged two players. I also agree with your comments re Buendia but If you think it was deliberate I would like a pint of what you have been drinking. -

Are you saying Vrancic deliberately played it through the legs of the defender? Get real, that is a ridiculous statement. Have you ever been near a pitch as a player? -
Some of the Krul comments remind me of the scapegoating Vrancic has received in the past, maybe not on this forum, he was considered lazy, slow etc. My point being that many posters cannot move away from their first impressions of players, I agree he had a poor start but he has made as many if not more point saving stops than point losing mistakes. Get behind him, he obviously is a passionate guy who is committed to our club.

You make a fair point WC, we are playing fantastic football but there is no doubt we had the run of the ball for all of our goals unlike the home game. They say it evens out over a season, with both the Leeds and WBA home games we did not have the run of the ball. Nevertheless a tremendous win and a superb advert for championship football which we deserved to win regardless of having fortunate deflections for all 3 goals. -
To add balance from our perspective (NCFC) there have been periods in many of our games when we have played some stunning stuff this season both home and away, quite simply we are the real deal this season whether we go up or not.

Reading TWTD is cracking fun at the moment but anybody that thinks Sunday is a simple win for us is deluded, they will present us with problems and it will be a tight match, almost any team can be beaten by anyone in the championship. Obviously we are hot favourites but I a man not expecting a rout..........hoping yes! -

I always thought River End was a massive ****, this has finally confirmed it, the best action is too not respond! -
I think it is quite simple imo, teams cannot get near us when we are on our game, to foul us will potentially disrupt our flow, injure the players and maybe deter us from playing our way. The way we pass and receive the ball in tight situations invites fouls which of course the refs should penalise with cards rather than just blowing his whistle. We must not forget that most opposition forums accuse us of being divers and moaners after we have beaten them😀. I am not saying they are correct but like most teams nowadays we do fall over easily and there is a lot of gesturing and complaining to the ref despite what previous posters have stated. This is modern football but I take it as an unwanted compliment that teams target us. For instance in the West Brom game Gareth Barry used his experience and bullied our midfield, it was only when his legs went that we took control. The Gardiners tried similar tactics on Friday, we are a team to be feared, our opponents will try anything they can get away with to nullify our style. It is up to the refs to ref the games accordingly.

Hear hear! He deserves some good fortune for the rest of his career.

I suspect Crafty usually posts on another city forum as his vitriol is more suited there. If he is not vindictive and enjoying his retirement I would not like to meet him when he is having a tough time!
-
He needed a run of first team football to bed in and try to attain his previous levels after a couple of years out. The immediate criticism / scapegoating is typical of many negative posters on this and most other forums. Anyone with a few brain cells would have given him a few games before publicising their opinions. It is fair to say that he wasn't great early this season but has steadily improved. Also, the fact he had more shots to save yesterday than is usual means he had more opportunities to shine.

Ha ha, I think they are doomed Capt Mainwering! All the other teams seem to offer the odd glimmer of hope, I suppose the Jan window will define who goes and who stays in the league. Their only hope Isco that ME ought up the cash.- 54 replies

Surely he has been saying the right things publicly to enamour himself with the fans and ME, after his horrendous start he now needs to start to protect himself and as such he is gently criticising what has gone on before his arrival. Can't blame the bloke, after all he is only human.- 54 replies

Max, now interest shown by Arsenal.
Red Rufus replied to Bradwell canary's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Yes he went public but has since said that all parties knew he was going and he wanted the best deal so it was a deliberate ploy to get the most money. I would think we are trying to keep Max at the moment while we are in the promotion hunt. The situation is completely different to the Maddison one where we had no chance of promotion and were desperate for funds having to sell to balance the books. -

I happen to disagree with the recurrent Krul threads, I admit he is not as good as Gunn was last season but many people on here love a scapegoat and seem to miss the positives once they have an opinion formed it very rarely changes. IMO he is at the moment a very good championship keeper. I agree the rule is the same but the situations are totally different as Krul has time to weigh up all the options whereas in open play this is not always the case and a mistake when the ball is live is far more likely than when it is dead. -

A bit naive to think that Webber needs to go public, there is no doubt that Max would have been scouted by most premier league clubs already. -

I wouldn't crucify him, I am not a scapegoater, I think he is improving after a shaky start. Who am I to know what words Pep would use but I am certain he will continue to insist his team play out from the back for the vast majority of the time. Also, Tim is taking a dead ball kick which is a totally different situation to the Max mistake. -
West Brom striker problem

Zimmerman was exposed by Marriotts pace and looked like he needs a rest, Hanley or Godfrey, if Hanley then Godfrey looked very comfortable at left back. As KK stated first 3 were not down to Zimmerman. -

I think and hope nothing happens until the summer, apart from obvious money issue, what will he gain by sitting on the bench for a year or two at a top club, the best way to learn and improve is to play games in a competitive championship for a team with a great chance of promotion. -

If I knew the answer to that I wouldn't be sitting at home posting on here😀. Personally i don't think zonal marking works for any team, call me old fashioned but man for man for me. Players movement, blocking, shirt pulling etc make it difficult with set pieces, both of their first half goals could be considered lucky in that they dropped to one of their players, one with an unstoppable finish and the other which found its way through a crowded area. It is also difficult to practice as most teams have their own specific set plays.
