1. Basically from the 27 man squad announced couple days ago those out, or definitely not 100% are Jarvis, Thompson, Klose, Pritchard, Lewis, Toffolo, Martin, Hoolahan, Pinto, Murphy, Naismith. That leaves 16 guys basically match fit,  including 4 GKs, so maybe 2 GKs will be on the bench for Fulham. 11 guys not ready for the season starter...i doubt many teams have a bigger list than that.
 2. Have no idea and no predictions for a top 6 this season, other than its a good bet Boro will be in the mix for sure. Have been spot on with my predictions for City last couple of seasons, but have zero idea this time, due to the big changes at the club in both playing and managerial staff. We must remember we are a very very early Work In Progress, so on that basis, i would accept  us being out of the bottom 3 and above the Binners come end of season.Having said that, i have well and truly bought into the DF vision for the future, dont think we could have chosen a better way to both downsize, which was a necessity, yet same give us a complete new vision and new chapter  in the history of our club. For sure one thing is certain, the AN era has been completely blown away in a very small space of time, and that for me, is a huge positive,For what its worth, as last season, 8th to 12th for me, not a prediction, just a safe bet. If any stat interests me, its the goals against column, really hoping we improve there.
 3. I am pretty content with the ins and outs, of much more interest to me is this season  we have a coach with a clear vision, a defined philosophy on how he wants his players to play, and come hell or high water, he will not change his approach from week to week, unlike last season when AN seemingly went from one game to the next befuddled, muddled and mixed up on knowing what to do.For sure we dont know how results will go, but for now i like DF, i like what he brings, and am prepared to be patient and see it through.
 4.

27 names there, including Louis Thompson and Matt Jarvis, so in effect a 25  man squad, no disrespect to both those guys, but we know why they are unlikely to feature this season. Also includes 4 GKs, so that leaves 21 guys for the other 10 spots on the field. Maybe scope for 1 or 2 more to come in, but unless any more sold, doubt the squad will be added to very much more.
I make that 31 names minus Jarvis/Thompson leaves 29, take out 2 of the 4 goalies, who wont be used, so leaves 27 man squad or am I missing something?
Yes Diane, you are missing numbers 18, 19, 20, 25, 30, 31, 32. Simple deduction ;)

 6. No, i think we are just about set up for the new season. We may sign one of the two young forwards mentioned in the last week or so Fonkeu or Abrahams (has Fonkeu officially signed a contract with City?), but apart from that its almost spot on from what i posted a few weeks back, based on what Webber was suggesting early in the season, that 10-12 would likely be leaving and the squad may be trimmed a bit. I think its about 11 out and 8 in? Close to that anyway. In truth there perhaps is a case to be made for a GK to leave, seems to me Gunn, Matthews, and one from the other two is more than enough. I suspect, if he cannot be shipped out, Andreu will stay in his role of Father of the U23s, and Matt Jarvis will be Matt Jarvis.Already we have a mid winter type situation with around 4 or 5 guys injured / suspended, yet in pre season we seem to have adapted to that well, so all in all im very content with how pre season and the transfer market has gone for us, id be quite happy if was no more ins or outs from now until end August, but on that, well...still another month for us to put up the "not for sale" sign on our best guys. Here''s hoping.
 7.
whats the going rate for a 15 to 20 goal a season striker in the champs who gives more than goals to to the team?IMO its about 10 mill.unless its us thats selling of coursekeep him
Villa paid 14 mill for McCormack last season, a guy who was roughly Cams age, and did bog all went he arrived there. Allowing for the fact that Villa probably overpaid for him a bit, he was still a carthorse compared to the running around and workrate that Cam puts in, plus with Cam, hes proven more than once he can get you 15-20 goals  in a season in the Champs.Given the above, and that transfer fees have once again in general risen to new levels, i think 8 to 10 mill is not unrealistic for Cam''s value. Its now reported Fulham have given up the chase for Jerome now so hopefully its another  story put to bed.
 8. Glad that more guys like ron, and others, are thinking along the same lines as me. Our opinions dont mean much to the situation anyway, its what the player  himself and the club think that matters. I recall in times past, when the players had delivered some truly awful performances, Cam had come across in interviews almost in tears at his and his team mates performances. See no evidence he  is unhappy here, like Nelson he is settled, and seems content with his lot. What does DF think of Cam? He seemed pretty happy with Cams performance in the last match, and giving him decent minutes in the friendlies. The one decent permanent striker signing we have  had since the days of Holty up to the signing of Nelson, ron nicely summed what Cam gives to the team, and more importantly, i think DF realises what Cam gives to the team, and how very hard it would be to replace him with a like for like guy. So selling Cam?..i would be sad and it would be mad.
 9. Well, Inside Futbol are saying it wont be Hanno Behrens, as hes been made  the team Captain and also all set to sign a new contract and pledge his future to his club.If its a signing, it may well be someone  not mentioned before, completely off the radar. As Leistner has just turned out for Union Berlin, ive my doubts its him to.
 10. This could have been posted in the "Prudence with ambition" topic, for that, to me, is just what has happened since last season ended. Ive said it a few times but, we knew the cloth cutting was coming when we failed to get promotion. Knew that the squad had to have major surgery. To do this work, also to carry it out, with a complete new set up never seen before  at our club, is not just a  big new change, its also hugely ambitious to. Much easier to be hugely ambitious with pots of gold and no cares about financial restrictions, but to do what is happening at our club, at a time of sharp cost cutting, is ambitious with a capital A.That its just a few weeks along this path, that its just friendlies, that its only a good successful German training camp added with some good victorys, of course means nothing compared to the real thing fast approaching, but im sure for most fans, a buzz, an embryonic feelgood factor has begun to form, and thats even after Howson and Jacob have departed, and Pritch and Timm both received bad knocks.Thoughts?..I could not have expected more than this, i could have expected less.
 11. Was thinking, what kind of reaction Binners fans would have if we were taken over by a big rich Chinese consortium, or similarly our reaction if Portaloo road got a massive Oriental shake up. When we look at whats happened to the Birmingham area, with many clubs there  now under Chinese ownership, i find it quite strange that the Anglia region has hardly been touched by rich foreign ownership, considering to that we are not really that far from London, thou sometimes it may as well be a thousand miles away.Looking at the last couple decades at two relatively similar clubs, looking at the performances on the pitch, the grounds, the training grounds, passion levels etc, i form the opinion that for City, its "Prudence with ambition, as and when required".  For Town its "Prudence".
 12. How good it is to have a head coach with a sense of purpose, a way to play, and of course although its a work in progress, after just a few weeks of DF training  sessions and a few pre season friendlies, already its  feeling like a breath of fresh air for the club, and the players are clearly responding to the new set up.When the real stuff starts  soon its a different ball game for sure, but undeniably i like what i see and feel positive about things, ive confidence in this style we play, actually trying to curb my enthusiasm a bit.Oliveira....what a goal that was. Thank the lord he himself says hes settled here, he oozes class. Under no circumstances should we be even tempted to lose him. OTBC.
 13.
Whenever people mention the need for more investment we get the fear mongering start. Are assured the current board are the good and noble owners with anyone else cast as club wrecking nasties. Yet so many clubs around us are thriving under new ownership because, surprise, surprise, most owners want their clubs to do well. The current board are owed a debt of thanks for saving the club in an era long gone. But it is time for a fresh wind of change at that level. Like the managers they employ- they are hanging around too long...And so many are nottake our impoverished neighbours they have one of these so called ''hinvestors''all he does is take whatever isn''t nailed downI''m quite happy as we are
Agree with Bill totally. Also the "many that are not" will only increase to, as the clubs with these so called "rich owners" are increasing quite rapidly, but now far outweighing any positions available in the upper tier which would deem a club to be "successful". As for "surprise , surprise, most owners want their clubs to do well", you think Delia does not?..a more fervent at heart ardent supporter you are likely never to meet than herself.Talk of "fresh wind of change", i think Delia is giving that to our club right now, and same time responsibly responding financially to our state of affairs. That both things are happening, yet i personally feel quite excited and optimistic about whats happening, especially after 4 or so years of Hughton / AN, excepting ANs initial 6 months, is no mean feat in my eyes.
 14. Should we have sold Wes 4 or 5 years ago, for the equivalent of whatever 6 mill wouldave been at that time? I know the arguements that can be put forward about Wes being a different type of player etc etc, but point remains Cam is still only 30, not 31 until next month, none us know  if he will deteriorate quickly or slowly, if he loses a  smidgeon of pace he, like many other 30+ year old guys, adapt and learn new ways of taking care of themselves.Just dont understand the eagerness of many fans to quickly push him out the door for 6 mill. If we were the Binners, then yea, 6 mill would be like a fortune, they could make that last for 3 or 4 seasons worth of transfers.
 15. Since 2009 Prudence has often been our best player.
 16.

Well if the stories of £6million are correct, that''s not bad for someone who will be 31 next month and no doubt on top wages.Of course, it all depends upon Webber being as good at identifying talent as he is supposed to be!
Have to disagree with that, proven 15-20 a season goal scorer in the Champs, and done that more than once. Old Mac the Fulham striker, was a round a similar age and he went to Villa last season for 14 million. Defoe was knocking plenty of goals in for Sunderland at 33-34 if its age you are thinking of. It may seem a super fee just considering what we bought Cam for, but its service to us as a Champs striker that for me gives his true value, and at 30 turning 31, is still not that old.Fund me a similar striker  who would give us 15-20 goals for 6 million...
I''m a big fan of CJ, EJS, but I''m not sure that he will fit into the style of play that Farke wants to play.Re the value for money thing, I''d argue that CJ is a different type of striker to the two you mention - all about pace and power - and I suspect that he will diminish as a top player for this division as these qualities start to fade. The other thing is about resale value - it will diminish sharply after this year - so I could understand the sale if it has any legs at all.Re finding a replacement - yes that is the big issue - I suppose I am putting a lot of faith in Webber - I hope I''m not disappointed.
Fair points Badger but..as to fitting into Farkes style of play, you have to remember its a new learning curve for all the players who were here under the AN regime and i see no reason why Cam cannot adapt to whatever Farke requires from him as much as any other player. Its a long season of 46 games and DF may adopt many different formations in that season. If theres one guy at the club who you know will  give 100% and more to adapt and do his damndest fot the team, its Cam.As for resale value in a years time or whenever, why worry about in a years time? Its the here and now and this season that matters. We have shipped out 11 players, including young Jacob, young and eager for the move to the big riches of Tyneside to prove himself. Cam has nothing to prove to us, maybe he does to himself, and to his club, under the new regime. In anycase, this 6 mill is just a rumour from The Sun, it means nothing. Personally, i care nothing about 6 mill or Cam being a high earner, its his value and commitment to the City cause thats important factor for me, cannot put a price on that.

 18. For the curious, it seems UniLevers Omo is still manufactured, thou only abroad somewhere as that brand name. However it can still be attained by import, for those that are so nostalgic as to buy some.
 19. Surely Wednesday dont need anymore strikers? Im sure a move to City for Ohi O. would be a  smart thing to do. We could then call him Cleveland (or simply Cleve) for a nickname.
 20. Most injuries invariably take longer than early diagnosis, add in a good week or two for proper training, id hazard a guess Klose wont be in Champ action until late Sept / early October and Prichard mid October till mid November. Of course the first  few months of the season are littered with international breaks, but even so, would not surprise me if its 12-15 games into the season before both of them are in the first team. Add in the very long absence to a couple of other players. and its really  frustrating for Farke. Add in Pinto, who may / may not miss the 1st game or two, and its 4 or 5 guys unavailable before a balls kicked in anger.Season was going to be testing enough, all the more so for City now. As always thou, its chances for other guys to start the season with a chance to impress DF and cement a place.
 21. I posted a couple days ago wishing him well etc etc, some thought i was jumping the gun a bit even thou i did not say the deal was done, but this whole past week you could see at Newcastles end it was a matter of getting Jacob for Rafa, he was insistent to Ashley about the importance of signing Jacob.Anyway, its done now and 12.5 million for Jacob is a big amount, im sure DF and SW can make good use of it. It will not weaken our squad in my view, as it would have had this been Olly leaving, im really looking forward to the new season, even the rest of the transfer window, with much optimism.
 22. Sorry Highland, that is not so. May be a mountain of money sloshing around the Prem, and yes Newcastle, in terms of finances, are in a different league to City, but 12 million for that club, to spend on an untried and untested young lad in the Prem, is  not the usual way. A manager with the calibre and charisma  such as Rafa had to pull a lot of wobblys in the last week or so to untie Ashleys purse strings, and they  will have to do this a few more times yet before end of August.
 23.

Lot of emotional sentiments on here regarding Jacob and yes hes a super little player. But end of the day, nothing we say or think has any meaning to, or for a young lad like Jacob. This is not about NCFC, or NUFC, or you or i, its about Jacob and his future. A young man, as most young men would, is offered the chance to earn money that will set him up for the rest of life, would be most unlikely to turn down such an offer. Its as simple as that, and it is what hes choosing. Wish him well  up there, will miss him, but  i support NCFC, no matter who joins us or leaves us.12 million for Jacob is seriously good money, it is higher than Redmonds  and about equals Brady''s. Well done City for getting 12, not 8 million, lets see what Webber can do with that.
You speak as if this is a done deal. Is it a done deal though?  All I''ve seen is stuff that has come from Newcastle, known for their pushy transfer tactics.
Of course its not official yet, but yes i am speaking  on the likelihood that it is happening today, tonight, or this weekend. Speaking as i did, not at a done deal, but in the  scenario of a young lad being offered a huge oppurtunity in his life, very few of which would turn down. Lakey, if you prefer me to say instead "Wish him well up there, if that is what he chooses, will miss him if he does", then ok , ive just said it.
