1. The fact is that the financial reward for being in the PL in 2016/17 are massive. If we are relegated this coming season it will be a catastrophe from which NCFC may not recover for a very long time. This is why the board''s refusal to spend and our apparent reliance on ''team spirit'' and an undistinguished manager who, this time last year, was employed by Hamilton Academicals is jaw droppingly stupid.
2. I''m sorry to say it but Neil is out of his depth and clearly floundering. He does not have the experience or profile to attract the type of players required and the board does not have the ambition to spend the money that might pursued top players to put their doubts AN to one side and sign for us. Hell be gone by Christmas, which is a shame because the board have left him to swing in this transfer window
3. Watford have realised that to succeed in the PL you need a strong squad. We haven''t. End of
4. Sadly Benjamin the days when ''guts and determination'' were sufficient qualities to ensure football success are long gone. Everyone realises this, except perhaps our board and sections of our fan base (the replica shirt brigade) who, it seems, have lost the ability to question anything about the club on the back of one day out at Wembley. Wembley papered over the cracks of a poor season but this one is going to be dire if we cannot attract quality players (not Brady, Lambert etc) soon
5. I am not sure that one nice day out a Wembley is worth the 10 months of abject misery that our transfer looks certain to assure we will all have to endure as a result. We have been left on the starting blocks - us, Villa and one other to go down
6. Please clappers do not keep claiming that Bournemouth and Watford are playing catch up because they entered the summer with weaker squads than us: both teams finished higher than us in the league and did not blow it in the run in like we did. And those who think we already have a PL-ready squad are complacent beyond belief. Do you remember how poor this lot were in our relegation season? You simply can''t lay all the blame for that shambles on Hughton. The players were well and truly found out. Why are you expecting the same bunch to do any better this time round? Of the promoted clubs, Watford and Bournemouth have shown real intent. The players Watford in particular have signed would all walk into our team. If you''re not familiar with them spend a few minutes finding out about them. The are not just making up the numbers. Oh, and since Iron Stan put his list of signings together, Watford have also landed a midfielder from Spartak Moscow and a very highly rated and sought after 23 year old dutch international winger - Steven Berghuis - from AZ Alkmaar. Meanwhile, we are rumoured to be sniffing around Rickie F***ing Lambert!
7.
My point of view,Lower your carbon footprint and reduce CO2 - Why? Yes I''m all for recycling instead of land fill but dead against anything that''s saving CO2 - I do not believe in global warming ! Can anyone out there give me proof of it ? My house has nothing but candescent light bulbs simply because the new Energy saving bulbs are not as good. If they come up with something better, then I will change. And don''t get me started on Wind Turbines
I don''t think anyone denies global warming exists. Man''s role in impacting it is open to question though. But, thank you for fascinating observation about the relative merits of low-energy v trad light bulbs. Have you considered taking up after-dinner speaking?
8.

If ever there was evidence that football clubs treat fans with contempt this is it. I accept that anyone over the age of 14 who buys and wears a replica shirt in public is unlikely to be overly concerned by sartorial matters, but surely the club should try to come up with a garment that does not give the impression that the wearer has Downs Syndrome
Did you do that deliberately to get the thread pulled, or does a grown up have to explain to you why what you have said is not OK?
Apologies. My reference to Downs Syndrome in this context was thoughtless and I regret any offence caused
9. Perhaps we could power a floodlight or two by burning all the unsold 2015/16 replica shirts?
10. If ever there was evidence that football clubs treat fans with contempt this is it. 11. The club''s marketing department is to be congratulated for designing a striking new kit that will surely appeal to a hitherto overlooked but, presumably, significant section of our support - pre-op transexuals. I am sure all fans that fall in to this gender category will find this garish garment attractive - for everyone else, its a bit of a shocker
12. I see Watford have splashed another £6m on Jurado from Spartak Moscow. I doubt our scouting net spreads further east than Cromer
13. I think it was a mistake by the People. Should have read ''No one sold to Norwich''
14. I wonder who this season''s relegation scapegoat will be? My money''s on either Russell Martin or Mulumbu. Or maybe Delia
15. Watford supporters might similarly point to the fact that they had four managers last season and had they appointed the last bloke sooner they''d have p****d the league. I pray that the tunnel visioned views of some posters to this site are not reflective of all NCFC supporters. The closer we get to the new season without an influx of quality players the more convinced I am that this is going to be one of the toughest campaigns ever. I shudder to think what Palace''s Zaha and Bolassi will do to good ol'' boy Russell Martin and co on the first day of the season. Mark my words, it''ll be a wake up call for a lot of you
16. Rich T''s assertion that Bournemouth and Watford went in to the summer with weaker squads than ours and have been signing players in an attempt to catch us up is, frankly, laughable. Can I remind him - and anyone else labouring under this misapprehension - that both clubs finished above us in the table, scored more and conceded less than us. Does the word ''complacent'' mean anything to you, Mr T?
17. You''ve been a naughty boy grefstad - you''ve deviated from the agenda of those who spend their days patrolling this site attempting to discredit any posters whose view they do not share or who dare to differ from the plastic clappers'' script.
18. This washed up journeyman seems to fit our recruitment policy perfectly. Expect his signing to be announced very soon
19. Well done to whoever was responsible for removing the last thread on Slimani. Some of the comments were distasteful in the extreme.
20. Our scouting set up is clearly lacking in every department. Anyone who watched Match of the Day a couple of times last season could come up with the list of rejects, serial failures and 30-something journeyman we have signed or are reported to be pursuing this summer. Our approach to squad development is as unimaginative as our manager recruitment policy - i.e., find someone British and cheap. It seems we can''t even land Robbie Brady
21.
I think that is very true Lappin, I also think fans see Bournemouth and Watford spending lots and think Norwich are getting left behind, the reality being those clubs are trying to catch Norwich up. By keeping most of the squad together last season it always meant the club wouldn''t be able to spend big this season. That was the gamble they took, as they felt it would be the best way to achieve promotion. Bringing in Jerome, an establish Premier League player would have also been a significant expenditure on wages. There are other factors as well, Ricky''s loan not working out and the club receiving less from Hull and QPR for Snodgrass and Fer respectively due to their relegations. I doubt it is as extreme as "one in one out" but Norwich have a large squad, it must be trimmed - not just for the sake of the 25 man rule, but the ongoing costs are problematic.
Bournemouth and Watford trying to catch Norwich up?!!! Can I remind you dear clapper that both of those clubs went up automatically - scoring more and conceding less than NCFC! Delusional is too kind a word for some of you
22. Old Shuck wrote -We went down last year and guess what? Clubs were looking to pick us off for a lot of our players even though they were might also have been a "key factor" in our demise. Snodgrass went, Fer went… and look how well they did for their new clubs! Snodgrass knackered himself on day one and Fer''s lack of commitment has made him one of the least popular QPR players of all time. I''m sorry but I just associate Robby Brady with failure and paying 6 million for him makes the 8m Bournemouth paid for Mings look like the steal of the century. Face facts clappers, until our scouts get their passports out, rejects, serial losers and 30 somethings looking to steal a living out of the PL for another year is all we are going to get. Oh, and, of course, a choice of replica kits in every colour under the rainbow that even the fattest slob will be able to squeeze in to
23. If true, a massively underwhelming signing that only serves to highlight how provincial our scouting network has become. So, with 3 weeks to go till the start of the season, we''ve signed two West Brom cast offs and (possibly) a utility player who was a key factor in Hull''s demise last time round. Be still my beating heart...
24.
Thetford wise wise words you are an inspiration to us realistic fans about out inadequate board
I assume you are using sarcasm in an attempt to justify the board''s failure to, so far, dig in to the 120m that promotion is (conservatively) worth. The blind faith and natural tendency of so many NCFC fans to obediently doff their caps to those running this club is, frankly, puke making. Wake up people. So far this closed season we''ve designed and launched more new (vile) kits than we''ve signed players. Does that not hint at where the club''s priorities for this season lie.
25. If nothing materialises in the next 7 days, noone will believe the club''s insistence that we are not having real trouble bringing in quality new players. It is sad to concede that of the three sides promoted last year Watford are now by far the strongest. Let us be grateful that other than spunking 8million on Mings and a 37 year old from Everton, Bournemouth have been almost as impotent as us.
