1. At least you guys gave last years team a go. We ripped our apart with foreign mercenaries
2. http://www.theguardian.com/football/2015/aug/04/pozzo-family-fuelled-watford-premier-league-dreams With attachment
3.
We may struggle but I would rather have AN as manager than most of the current Prem managers so I think that ultimately we will be OK. Anyone who thinks that Watford are doing a QPR probably doesn''t realise that the Pozzo family have been managing football clubs for 30 years. Bournemouth have the financial backing but I don''t think that will compensate for the lack of experience in the Prem-in terms of players and management and basically the whole club. As others have said, Villa will struggle without Benteke and Delph, I don''t think the replacements will be sufficient. West Ham might struggle early on due to the Europa League-although they have already struggled in that anyway-and Bilic might be on his way sooner rather than later. Leicester needed a great run at the end of last season to stay up, think that Ranieri isn''t the manager for a struggling team. So I think it will be Bournemouth, Leicester and either Villa or West Ham.
Watford may go down - I think it will be tough but as Mr Angry says comparing us to QPR is very wide of the mark. The Pozzos business is trading players - the teams give them the window to do it and in the premiership a very big window. See attached
4. Not sure of interest but attached is one of the 1st summaries of the Pozzos model by a journalist. There has been a number of inaccuracies posted e.g. Doing as QPR, British quota and huge amount of our prem money we have blown. See you guys are starting to catch up http://www.stalksport.com/watford-transfers_wtd/
5. Lets also add that it is not only about players. They can manipulate the financial fair play rules plus optimise the tax position so that they pay tax in the lowest tax rate country. Very easy to sell a young lad to Granada for an inflated price so the revenue increases at Watford and profits drop in Spain or vice versa. It is what all businesses do and one thing for sure is the Pozzos are good business men. Not many make a success in the football game. I am sure the model will be copied as as huge benefits and not only shared costs such as scouting.
6. You sure. I am pinching myself with some of the signings and our owners who popped up just before administration. I notice Watford getting alot of criticism on here with their transfers. I wonder if most of you would prefer to be following a similar path and a little jealousy involved. Time will tell who was right - hopefully both stay up. You have Gestede tbh - we do not need him. Unlikely to get a game so if we are to buy a striker need someone that could improve 1st 11. Think our best signing will be Jurado. Jury is out with the rest but fully behind the owners for givng it a go. Also despite what some say they have not broken bank and really shows strength of scouting network Good luck next year
7. Felt I should pop in. Many debates within Watford as to whether this is good or bad. I think majority are aligned to my thinking that the Pozzos would only do this for the benefit of Watford. What is clear - if Slavisa was in our plans he would be signed up. Money is not an issue but that is obvious. Few points We are rumoured to be signing a European cup winning manager, Athletico fans credit him for laying foundations for their Champ league win. Pozzos got rid of our manager when we were 2nd in the Championship. Slave lost first 4 games - that is balls to sack a manager who is 2nd in league and replace with relative unknown Just saying - happy to be favourites for relegation but do not assume we are owned by people that have no idea of what they are doing. They have owned clubs for 30 years and they do not let a manager walk out for a few hundred thousand unless they think it will improve situation. One thing we rales is that our owners are more important than the manager, denney, Vydra put together so support we will. Good luck guys next year - actually hope you guys stay up. Guess will may have a few crucial games against each other
