1. I said I''d come on here if we lost. This seems as good a thread as any Congrats today. You won promotion after the most competitive championship season in recent memory Today you were better than us Uwe.....
2. It''s game day and I''m also up a hour before my alarm was set Just wanted to say a couple of things i) Drive/travel safely hope everyone makes it to Wembley on time and in one piece ii) Good luck and enjoy the occasion just not too much iii) As I said on my very first post if we win you will never hear from me again, if we lose I''ll be back to congratulate you Uwe... Ps I''m sorry for the couple of 15 yr old keyboard warriors (if they were in fact Boro supporters) that came on here last night. But I remember what my first beer was like too ;)
3.
Uwe, I''m intrigued by your user name. I think I may know what it''s about, can you elaborate please?
Bor is correct in what he says. But I also use it because one of my earliest Boro memories is going to the game on my own (my grandad took me prior). Uwe had just signed and was warming up in front of the Holgate (Ayresome version of the Kop) and someone yelled "Who the Fuchs He? I was young so found it incredibly funny. I also use the same user name on the oneBoro forum so you know exactly who I am. As some posters may use a different name to stir trouble on one forum and comment on it on their own. P.s Uwe was rumered to be shagging Jet from Gladiators so he''s a double legend ;)
4. Daz 1) I don''t think last time will have any bearing on how we set up for this game. At CR it was a ''Must not lose'' game. This is a must win. Our tactics from last time won''t work. Unless we score two quick goals. 2) AK is proving himself a very astute tactician. Hopefully you saw the semi final games against Brentford. Two very different styles but two wins for us scoring 5 goals in the process. Against good opposition. 3) Agree a different ref could have made a difference. But you had the same guy in charge and could have adapted your play to suit. But I agree with you what the Rev does is out of our hands 4) Don''t agree with this at all. Everything I''ve seen /read and heard about AN points to a very thorough professional that leaves no stone unturned. Maybe your players underestimated us for the first 20 mins but that''s their fault 5) I agree to the fact that man for man your squad is stronger than ours. But in terms as a unit I think it''s 50/50 and either a piece of magic from a player or manager will be the difference. I just hope it''s not a refereeing blunder that decides it The two best teams got promoted automatically. Now the next best two have made the final. Neither by luck or fluke but purely on own merit. We know you can play football. But so can we. One advantage is that we can play different ways to win matches you''ve seen that. Good luck for Monday it''s going to be special, I''m so excited, and nervous I''m like a 10yr old (not the responsible 37yrs I should be acting) ;)
5. Hey guys Well it''s Been a couple of days since this has been mentioned. I would just like to say if you''d won or drew that game it would never have been mentioned at all. Leeds did exactly the same to us and YES I agree with you that it''s the most frustrating thing on a football pitch. But we had a gameplan to stick to and we did it perfectly. Even better than we hoped actually, because I personally think we came to your place trying to ''not lose'' and got lucky with the own goal. So by hook or by crook we defended our lead with our lives. What do you think would have happened if we came up to your place and ran at you? You could have very easily battered us. I personally think you wouldn''t have, but you would have won the game (just not battered us). The right spirit is to win the game. We will play to our strengths ans disrupt yours. You will do the same. I''m sure of it Anyway I see it going one of two ways... Norwich will have a majority of the possession about 60% and as long as it''s not hurting us we''ll let you have the ball. Hoping for the time you commit bodies forward and we can hit you on the break. Adomah on the right and Friend on the left will constantly run at your LB/RB all game trying to make them make mistakes Leadbitter in the middle pulling the strings with Clayton there with the sole purpose of breaking your play up. The only thing that leaves is Tomlin trying to find a bit of magic and carving your defence open. And we win. OR you press us high up the field which forces Leadbitter back into a more defensive role limiting his attacking play. When this happens Tomlin will drop deeper ''looking'' for the ball. This isolates Bamford/Kike and we will not score. With only one in the box. That will make Adomah or Friend needing to cut inside rather than cross the ball to attack your goal. One decisive tackle and we are all out of position at the back. And you win Either way guys I''m as nervous as hell but can''t wait either. Hopefully see some of you there Good luck ... Uwe
6.
They do seem very arrogant to be fair.
It''s not arrogance, it''s a Boro forum. I''ve just had a quick look at your ''Pridictions for Monday'' thread and apparently the best we can hope for is to scrape/cheat our way to penalties. But I fully understand that this is a NCFC forum. I''ll agree some wum have come across here in the past week but they are NOT the average Boro supporter at all. If I can give any advice it would be go across to the oneBoro forum and have a look there. Please stay away from the FMTTM (Fly me to the moon) as it tends to be occupied by 13yr old crack addicts filling time until the next episode of benefit streets. Or the Facebook page because....... Well err it''s Facebook. But if there''s anything you''d like to ask me please feel free and I''ll answer as best, but as honestly as I can. (But I do think Boro will win, sorry)
7. Not sure what Forum your reading but I can guarantee 99% of Boro fans are s****ing bricks at the prospect of this game. As for internationals we don''t have that many unless you count U21''s Vossen and Adomah are the only ones. Now if you ask me if we can win this game. I''m going to say "of course we can". Now doing it will be much harder. A couple of things to point out i) 4-0 at our place. Count for nothing. Your a different team with new manager and confidence ii) 1-0 at your place. Horrible backs to the wall game where we held on as best we could trying not to lose, but managed to win ugly iii) if our fans didn''t have a glimmer of hope/confidence it would be a very sorry state iv) it''s going to be a spectacular day and I can''t wait. Look forward to seeing some of you there Uwe
8. http://www.gazettelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/neil-grainger-new-boro-video-9310650 The latest instalment. Because I know you guys love it so much Remember we''re not taking ourselves to seriously in it Uwe
9.
In answer to CUSDP I''m really nervous about this game. It''s no secret that all that every Boro supporter would''ve rather face Ipswich rather than yourselves. We can win this, but we really need to be on our game. You still have the best squad in the championship and if it wasn''t for the early season managerial mess should really have finished top two. Anyway if you press high and force Leadbitter and Clayton back that will force Tomlin into dropping deeper to find the ball. All of that will isolate Bamford or Kike upfront and I doubt we''ll score. If you try and attack down the flanks and cross balls in we''ll cope well enough and wait until you''ve either over commited or stretched and try and hit you on the break. It definitely won''t be like at your place because we went there looking not to lose (got lucky with the own goal and the win) but this game we need to win It should be a great day but like us or hate us either way we don''t have to play each other again for at least a year Uwe out
11. Really think this has been mis construed. Maybe on purpose just to have a dig. But this is your forum so I get that. But of course it''s cheesy, crass over the top and almost everything else I''ve heard it described as. But that''s the point it''s not meant to be serious. It''s half tongue in cheek, poking fun at ourselves and the over half trying to get the town behind the team. Give them something to get excited about. It''s been pretty horrible the last few seasons under Strachen, and then the most spectacular nosedive under Mowbray. The karanka thing saying we deserved to be in the prem is way off the mark. It''s in reply to been asked what he thinks about his players efforts this season. And I''m sure most managers would say something when talking about rewards purely on effort alone. Anyway guys that''s all I really wanted to say. Uwe out
12. Another Boro fan here........ (Definitely not a WUM) Just a couple of things I feel I need to defend about the Boro. Confident Not sure about this. Most of the supporters I know will be sh****** bricks with this game. And almost every man would have preferred to play Ipswich in the final than your lot. Can we win it. Of course we can, we''ve played some outstanding football this season (I''ll come onto away at your place in a minute) but Derby home and away Forrest home milwall away and a few more too boot. WILL we win. Now that''s a lot harder to call. You have the better players and probably best squad in the championship imo and am still a little surprised you didn''t get top two. Maybe your start to the season left too much to be done. But if we click we can hold our own with anyone in this league. Game at Carrow rd (takes deep breath) You''d be crazy if you thought we should come at you at your place. Committing bodies forward, leading a high line with large pockets of space behind. You would have cut us to ribbons. So we played ugly. We also did this to Brentford first leg as they pass the ball well too. I agree it''s horrible to watch. Leeds did it to us at our place. We gifted them the lead then they stopped us playing (added with their keeper playing a worldie) it''s so frustrating but there are many ways to win a football match its up to each coach to figure it out each game. So even if you didn''t like it, take it as a compliment. Boro fans Not sure what forums you''re reading but if it''s FMTTM yes you are gonna come across a special breed of people. I cringe every time I look on there. The Facebook page is a advertisement of ''Why cousins shouldn''t fu€k. I would recommend oneBoro forum. You will get a more balanced view and are more than welcome to join in My promise If we win, you will never hear from me again. If you win. I will come back on here to congratulate you for gaining promotion in what has been the most competitive championship season in years. My predictions You will 60% possession. We will try and boss midfield The team that scores first will win Uwe out ......
