  1. Just asked him there now. Reckons you might well be right; recently won a hat-trick of player of the months and could be a great option. However he had a caveat about a similar kiwi goalkeeper who left and flopped so you never know.
  2. Shamrock Rovers, Athletic Bilbao, Bayern Munich, Bari, Ajax. The young lad supports Wellington Phoenix over in New Zealand.
  3. I deduce from that Worthy that we are of a similar vintage! Also, DVDs are well on their way to becoming obsolete now too. 50c each in Oxfam yesterday!
  4. Omobamidele stumped a few on here too. And what was our former manager called again: Chris H...........
  5. I always read it as Sony C or possibly So NYC! I like it!
  6. Say it quietly but is that apostrophe at the end grammatically correct? I think it might just be!
  7. I was just thinking the same thing about the Zenith Data Systems Cup!
  8. That sounds about right to me. Maybe Hamilton might just squeeze Gunny out of the top 3
  9. In recent years, Jamal Lewis, Ben Godfrey, James Maddison, Andrew Omobamidele, Alex Pritchard
  10. I might be a bit hazy on the details but I think I remember a friend of mine from France saying that to this day in France, Renault are still regarded as the Nazi-collaborator car manufacturers whereas Citroen are remembered as resisting the Nazis as much as was reasonable given the times, e.g. sabotaging engines which seized up in Russia etc. Seem to remember Ferdinand Porsche being mixed up somewhere in the story too.
  11. Aboh gets a taste. Contract incoming? Great to see Sarge in. We may well get half an hour of van Hooijdonk in the second half too.
  12. I'm sure I han kook up a few more bad puns if you like
  13. Sounds like you're washing something else down with those pints. Nice, enjoy! OTBC
  14. I quite like Southampton's Continental style approach
  15. His career in punditry sofa leaves a lot to be desired
  16. Yes, he knew how to cushion a pass
  17. Yep, I wonder has Knapper been advised to do exactly that. Being 'open & transparent ' seems like a great idea. And it's fine when things are going well. But a disgruntled supporter base tend to get riled by such interviews when we are perceived to be underachieving, which we certainly are if we are failing to maintain the openly-stated target of "top 26." Throw in the inconsistency, the lack of 'entertainment,' the general downgrading of the quality of the squad, the lack of money and the recent capitulations at PL level fresh in the mind, perhaps he's right to keep his powder dry. Results have improved recently. Hopefully today isn't an embarrassment. Let's give the man a chance.
  18. Two lovely goals there. I would love to have seen Martin Peters strut the hallowed turf. Suggett & Keelan looked great there too. Very important date too - my birthday!
