  1. The paradox of the argument is that people like this moan about us not spending money to stay in the prem league and then moan about us spending money(parachute payments) to get promotion. Neither of which is true or accurate.
  2. It's still pretty raw and I'm feeling irrational and moody but I can't help feeling some of the players are just happy to be on the same pitch as man City. Like tourists. Anyone old enough to remember that vinny jones tackle on Steve mcmahon in the 88 Cup final.if not, YouTube it. That's what we need. Maybe not quite the same as even in 1988 that could be a red but we need midfielders to not give a fk about who they are playing. To give the opposition a message that if they beat us they will be battered and bruised. We are just pathetically easy
  3. It's easier said than done but, as good a player as Gilmour is on the ball he wasn't what we need. We need players good off the ball
  4. Seen mbaye diagne linked now, not sure how reliable sportwitness are, or how likely it is we want another striker but at €5m wld be worth a punt.
  5. I suspect our highlights may be winning a corner in the 57th minute and a shot on target in the 84th ....
  6. To be fair to Rupp, its nice that at least 1 midfielder is brave enough to have a go, most just shift it out wide for a pointless cross to Pukki v 5 defenders. I don't know if it's a thing but I would have shooting from outside the box in training everyweek
  7. The fact they sing always the victims suggest it's plural and based on previous history before Suarez. The truth is some fans will just follow the crowd and just sing and not even think about any deeper meaning to the words. Some will be racists some will be homophobic some will just be sheep ignorant of any specific meaning
  8. Anyone else hoping skipp plays today and man City rip spurs apart just so they have a rethink onoaning him out. We need a really strong nasty CDM I think, not just as defensive cover but one who will shout at cantwell or Gilmour or any other player out of position.
  9. Is that the same scouring of Europe we did when we found Neil Adams was best choice as our manager
  10. Think his legs have gone now, in which case I'd rather sign lieutenant Dan.
  11. Isn't Hughton Manager? Surely they have a squad of 16 defenders 5 defensive midfielders and a striker
  12. Hugill was brought in mainly as a plan B to our normal play but last season plan A worked 90% of the time. He's proven at championship level, with QPR and Preston, but would be better in a warnock team and style I think.
  13. Pritchard is a strange one, I thought he had real ability and would become a top player, but maybe his greed/attitude cost him, or maybe he just wasn't really that good. I remember thinking Dani Pacheco would be a top player too and his attitude always seems to have been really good but he never reached the heights I expected either so one things for sure, I'm a crap judge of a player
  14. I read palace had bid £16m for Amadou, not sure how likely that is.
  15. I'd rate Hanley above Gibson personally but both will look poor without a genuine CDM in front of them. I'm pretty sure Brandon williams could play in a back 3 successfully, aswell as cover for rb lb Skipp seems to have played alot for spurs and has had good reviews so I can't see him being loaned but as much as a CD wld be nice a CDM is paramount.
  16. To be fair didn't we used to give a squad number to 'The Fans'? It's just harmless and possibly lucrative for them. Early days but the new owners do seem to be 100x better than Evans unfortunately and they have made some good signings for league 1 so.i fear they will go up, but God wouldn't it be great for them to still find a way to fail.
  17. 1 FA CUP SEMI FINAL v Sunderland 2 Play off final v Birmingham 3 1990 world cup semi final
  18. I imagine they will sell programmes for cash outside the ground, but not in the shop or stadium.
  19. Maybe Pukki flew back early for pretty season and his family are following on.
  20. I'm a season ticket holder too and, although it doesn't affect me as I no longer need to buy my daughter casual tickets it does se rather steep. Being cynical, it may make season tickets prices better value this year but does make it easier for them to justify increases in a season ticket price next year and point at the saving versus these new casual prices, but I appreciate they need to make up for losses last year even tho Buendia effectively covers the reported £30m loss
  21. It's a difficult one because I'm sure some, even if a small minority, of the softest looking pens which look like a dive, are actually true fouls so it's not always 100% obvious if the decision is right or wrong. But, I think the best punishment for diving in the oppositions box is for the ref to award a pen to the defending team. Players can cope with cards, even their team mates aren't overly affected if their team mate is booked for diving but diving to win a pen benefits the whole team so diving to try to win a pen should punish the whole team. Teammates and fans do not care if their player is booked but if he costs their team a goal from a pen he will soon know what they think of him
  22. Anyone else shocked at just how much they really love England? I didn't know how much I wanted to get to a final until now. Emotionally its not quite at Norwich levels but was surprisingly close.
  23. I think we forget that the players are professional and however overly optimistic or pessimistic fans may be, they remain confident in their own ability without being arrogant. They have all had more disappointment and failures than success, and many played in that SF v Croatia so there will be no over confidence. It's football, any team can win on the day regardless of quality. I'm confident, but that doesn't stop me switching between 3-1 win and loss on pens
  24. I saw this on Twitter. Not sure if it's genuine,
