1. Ahh the mighty Arabs, there is a fantastic club, well run, amazing fans second only to Hearts fans in Scotland (Arabs = Dundee Utd for those not sure) Dundee is the City where the term "bitter blue" was created, wonder why ?
2. Watford and Blackburn are massive games, and neither will be easy, win them both and we can start looking at all the permutations, don''t, and as Morty says the whole dynamics change, but l like what is coming from AN at the moment, good read on the back of the EDP this morning just want to see it transfer into points on these next 2 games and "watch us fly"
3. Coach at Wigan would be good for him, I hope he gets a job in football, he is a good person and cant doubt his love for our club, but I don''t see him getting a managers job soon, unless somewhere like Bradford, or Oldham as their manager (Oldham) is being linked with the Bradford job and didn''t Adams have a connection with Oldham ?
4. Ask again at the end of March, by then we will know if Dorrans is the man, for now i would say deco 2 wing backs, and an attacking Left mid, can''t see Oneil being here if we go up, but will be interesting to say the least
5. Be a shame if Derby fans boycott us, they are quite a vocal support, and I would hate them to miss out on a great game, and their team be deprived of their passionate support....... but then again maybe that would release some more for our supporters on the waiting list ! Longer terms though clubs need to look seriously at pricing, especially away fans, I like the idea of £20 for every club to away supporters, always a better atmosphere in any ground when a big away support, start it next season though http://services.pinkun.com/forums/pinkun/cs/emoticons/emotion-10.gif
6. so maybe our 0-0 wasn''t so bad after all, still 45 mins to go, but could be another great result for us!
7. small steps, and suddenly anything is possible,OTBC
8. Question would be on Dorrans, had limited game time recently, so will depend on how he shows at training, I think he will start one of next 2 games, but most likely for me is Blackburn, one thing for sure AN wont have brought him in to have sitting around.
9.
Working in Doncaster all week so going to drive up after I finish, AA route planner says it''s 75 miles and about a 90 min drive
Angry, What is M62 likely to be like next week, are road works still bad ? we are driving from Norfolk, just to far on coach..
10. next 3 games are crucial, Watford away, Blackburn away, Scum home, min 7 points keeps us in it, imo
11. Different test this weekend, Watford at Vicarage Road will be tough, will AN change anything for this game ? personally I think it will be same 11, with Dorrans on the bench, Ruddy Whittaker, Martin, Bassong, Olsson, Tettey Redmond, Howson, Johnson Hooper Grabban Could be a good game to start Wes, but who would you drop to accommodate, a must win game so need goals, hence I think he will stick with Hoops and Grabban.
12.
Whats this quality? Solid, good for this division....but quality really....Huckerby was quality, so if he comes that good I''ll be delighted. He''s such quality only played 9 games this season.....again don''t shoot me but have you really seen him play the ladt 2 seasons.......good signing like I said but some do go over the top. Fair point to the injuries though we do need good cover and options can see this as a good signing for cover and to add to the choice in squad.
I think that sums it up, "adds good cover and options and adds to the choice in the squad" has played for his country and experienced player at a good age, sounds good to me!!
13. A signing that adds depth and quality, and if we can sign him twice we should be able to get him through until play offs, sounds like good business to me, Bring it on....
14. I do think in time AN will turn to youth more, certainly his track record suggests that, and yes we as supporters must change or manage our expectation more to accommodate these youngsters.
15. I think Southampton are a fair example to use, currently players like Clyne, Targett, Segar and McQueen are all academy products, the question for me is, how do we get that amount into our team to create a nucleus ?
16.
I''ve read a few stories this past week or so regarding the future of our young canaries, McGeehan and Toffolo to name but a few who are unsure of their futures. It''s got me thinking - Are Norwich City missing a trick, or a pair of balls? You look at the like of Southampton, plying their trade at the top end of the Premier League this season, yet when they have a player out injured or suspended, they have no fear in playing a ''kid'' in the first teamers place. A lot of us ''fans'' on here are of the impression that any of our youth players playing for NCFC in the championship is unheard of, yet Southampton will happily chuck a ''child'' into the mix. Does or is Tony Andreu really offering any more than McGeehan could do? (Yes, I know he''s only just signed and i''ve made a snap judgement but it''s ''the point'' i''m trying to get across). I like the Southampton philosophy of playing the kids, and you could argue about them being a ''different level'' but I think it comes down to chances, and we, at Norwich, don''t give our young players enough of a try before shipping them out. We will rue the loss of McGeehan if he disappears in the summer, the same for Toffolo and eventually Morris too. Yes they need to get experience currently, but I believe these players should be forming the nucleus of our team for the future
Lewis all good sensible stuff, but how do you make them the nucleus of the team for the future, even bringing in one that you are not 100% sure of is a risk (Josh) I think all supporters love to see a home grown talent make it to regular 1st team football, what happened to Aki at Chelsea, he looked a class act when our youth played them, he was a millionaire before he got to 18, but to my knowledge nowhere near 1st team football. There is always an exception, ask Alan Hansen, famous for his "you will win now''t with kids" statement, I don''t think other than maybe Toffolo we have any exceptional talent in our midst, not that I am an expert talent spotter.
17. Paul Hartley is the only good thing at Dens Park, he was a Jambo ! he will be a good manager one day, but is still a way behind Alex Neil in his development, as is Robbie Nielsen. Truth is Dundee about one season in 20 your club gives it a go, whilst your more illustrious neighbours at least show great consistency, no forums for you to play on up there ?
18. Its not offside, if you are Man Utd, Chelsea, Liverpool or Man City, but for everyone else its a clear offside, simple really !
19.
Poor man''s Redknapp.
Bodes well for the pair of them then !
20. And probably the most fickle of fickle fans, wonder if he will ever see all those seats full ?
21. Ibrox stadium will make one hell of a sportswear shop !
22.
Additional joke about him being an identical twin of Martin Olsson
That was what Jimmy Smith was referring to earlier
23. Too many potentials for a banana skin in the play offs, which would be unbearable if happened to us with "them", they should end up 7th and we should still be aiming for an automatic until impossible to do so. Couldn''t take another millennium stadium day, too much to bear, flew down there that weekend, and on the flight back the mood was so black I think most would have jumped out at 3,500 feet !
