I have to say I was delighted to see Arsenal knocked out. Maybe Wenger will treat the competition a bit more seriously next year.
... what are you on about? Arsene Wenger uses the League Cup to give his younger players much needed experience and a chance to play proper competitive football in front of thousands of fans rather than a reserve match in front of hundreds. This way he can see who is going to make the grade in his first team. Playing his "second string" in this tournament over the years has been invaluable for the likes of Clichy, Traore, Bendtner, Hoyte, Denilson etc. It may even help us if one of their players comes on loan here, I''d like to see that Henri Lansbury lad. Think he played away at Blackburn and looked awesome. Anyway getting to the final then the semi''s the following year isn''t taking it seriously?? -

fair play to the lad he goes about his business pretty quietly, keeping the team ticking over... but the reason he gets slack from fans is that we are missing a player who can carve through balls and opportunities and everyone thinks this is his role?? is it his role or do we need a more creative midfielder alongside?? how often do we send a ball through the opposition defence for a striker to run onto??
That is exactly what Fozzy did for Ched''s equaliser against Barnsley.
Once then is the answer......? -

Has anyone else read in the news today about UEFA''s plan to put 2 more officials in both penalty boxes to oversee decisions in these areas, i.e. penalties and goal line decisions. I for one think it is ridiculous to put 2 more officials on the pitch and will only result in more confusion!! Let Hawk-Eye get on with his job and introduce that before this stupid decision gets accepted!! With all the officials wired up to earpieces it will be like listening to Five Live going through the Fens with about 6 stations at once!!! Can''t be good!? Any Views?
Has anyone else heard about a mystery player training with the squad this morning.
Straight form the pink''un main page... "Norwich City have been taking a look at American goalkeeper Matt Pickens, who has been training at Colney over the past few days. The 25-year-old is out of contract after playing for Major League Soccer side Chicago Fire last season, although his agent and previous club are still in talks over the player''s future. Norwich have had several triallists at the club over the past few weeks, including CSKA Sofia defender Valentin Iliev and young ''keeper Ashley Timms, who was in goal for the reserves'' 5-1 drubbing by Ipswich last year." Looks like it may be Pickens or Timms???

NottsCanary replied to Norwich R Us's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
With Stoke tickets only being 6 pounds I think there will be a very large following heading to the Sh*tannia stadium Saturday... A good chance to make your voices heard and try to persuade him to stay!! I have missed the last couple of games, is there a song for Taylor yet??? -

Obligatory Damien Francis Thread
NottsCanary replied to Evil Monkey's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
I had mixed emotions about Damo at the time - he''d been close for our Player of the Season on his performances first half of the season, but it seemed to me that he lost interest in all things NCFC... the reason Ashton is considered a God whilst Damo isn''t is almost purely down to the fact that Deano actually turned up for the relegation fight and kick-started a mini-comeback... whilst Francis bobbled about the pitch doing just enough to ensure that someone noticed his talents... Mind, I remember during the height of the whole furore pre-season that Damo got a good reception at the Inter game and put in a good performance (it''s hard to remember, I was mightily bladdered by kick-off!)... I don''t like booing players, but didn''t want to really give him a great reception so I think I just settled for something between the two and sounded like a cat being murdered...
a cat being murdered? thats just you singing on the ball city jas... ;-) -
Obligatory Damien Francis Thread
NottsCanary replied to Evil Monkey's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Damien Francis never said he didnt want to play for us anymore.. his agent said it.. Remember Hucks agent said he wouldn''t ever sign for us and he did... Dean Ashton on the other hand said he would leave.. and is seen as the messiah.. yet Francis (who was forced out by certain sections of "supporters" I maintain) kept a public vow of silence. so why does he get all the falck could someone tell me? jas :)
Because when we got relegated we needed a scapegoat, and after his no-show at the 6-0 drumming by Fulham he got it all...
