  1. "You're sh..., that's why you're a sub" to the Go West tune - always makes me smile... There seemed to be so many new and good ones last season - Farke's on a horse, All the Germans, Starman, Teemu Pukki Baby... Emi Buen-dia, from Argentina is good too. And no-one's mentioned OTBC - until now!
  2. DF: "Alex had a little setback in the past week. A small calf injury," said Farke. "We had just planned he would be out for seven to 10 days but there is still some blood in the calf. We have to get that out and we either use some traditional methods or maybe a small surgery. That is a decision to make in the next day or two. It is very rare with this injury you have to do that. It is a shame for Alex. He was looking sharp and unbelievably fit at this level. Let's see how it develops." It sounds like he is benefiting from the sports scientists and the coaches at Colney in terms of his fitness. Pre-Farke, it was generally thought that he couldn't play twice a week due to dodgy knees, but the 'looking sharp and unbelievably fit at this level' quote suggests he was/is very much part of our plans this season.
  3. https://twitter.com/fin131/status/1155449061941612544 not sure if the video will display, but Todd is instrumental to pretty much everything that creates this goal.
  4. If you move Godfrey into the DM role, we'd then need another CB...
  5. Live on https://schalke04.de/ - kick off 5.30pm (UK time)
  6. I like McBurnie - was quite relieved when he was ill/injured when Swansea came to Carrow Road. They were one of the better teams to play us, but that night, they really missed him. He's definitely a Sheff U type of player - moreso than Maupay.
  7. We've been here before... https://forum.pinkun.com/index.php?/topic/126039-back-in-the-big-time-better-half-time-entertainment/&tab=comments#comment-2107199
  8. Agreed, I'd be worried if we were forced to start with him. I'd hope that Drmic and Pukki will be our main strikers, and if one or both are suspended/injured, Idah will step in - although in truth we have no idea if he is capable of what would be a massive step up. All this assumes Mr Rhodes isn't coming back - if he does, Srbeny and/or Idah will surely go out on loan.
  9. Yarmouth will offer most of what you're looking for. The Haven holiday parks all have loads for kids to do - there's one at Caister which has direct beach access, a pool, amusement arcade and evening entertainment. Most of the holiday parks have that - Searles in Hunstanton is another one. Bewilderwood is great for under 10s. Personally I think it offers more than Roar (sorry JF). Zoos - Banham, Africa Alive, Thrigby. I'd agree to avoid the Broads - the kids won't appreciate it. This is a good site - https://www.dayoutwiththekids.co.uk/things-to-do/east/norfolk
  10. West Ham's training ground is nothing to write home about. If you travel into London by train, it's on the right as you crawl through Epping.
  11. Yep, if he (Godfrey) needs an op & is out for 2-3 months and with Zimmermann missing all of pre-season and doubts over Klose's knee, we'll definitely need a CB. Like others, I'd have thought we were only otherwise looking for a RB and CDM. Interesting that Thompson played at RB yesterday, perhaps Farke sees his position there rather than CDM.
  12. Simon Charlton was 5 foot 8... (and probably still is).
  13. Am I right in thinking rugby only uses it for tries? Not for offside?
  14. I'm not so sure Broadstairs - there were plenty of people who quickly became disillusioned when we weren't winning 3 or 4-0 at half time. Yes, the momentum built up during last season and there were some incredible results and performances along the way, but managing expectations is going to be a key part of our season. Maybe not widespread criticism, but the grumbles will return if things aren't going well. We'll see in just 4 weeks' time!
  15. Indeed. I eagerly await the first VAR penalty given against Liverpool at Anfield, or Man United at Old Trafford.
  16. In theory though, it won't be a dodgy decision. VAR is coming in to stop those dodgy decisions from happening... HOWEVER, referred penalty decisions will still come down to interpretation, albeit from someone watching the incident again and again on a TV.
  17. I think a lot will depend, as in the Cardiff scenario, on how we are doing. Its a balance between accepting that we don't have the riches of the majority of the teams, versus our right to be in the league courtesy of our outstanding performance last season. Whatever happens, I'm sure there will be times when Webber and the board will have to hold their nerve if the going gets tough. After all, the results in the first few games of last season weren't great and many were questioning Farke. There might also be the challenge of holding onto our star players in January if we are struggling.
  18. Holding out for a 3 year deal & the club are only offering 2 years maybe? Or are we open to offers for him?
  19. Yes, in the photo of him signing his new contract he had 35 on his training top. He's a young keeper who was at that club south of the border... https://www.canaries.co.uk/News/2019/february/nick-hayes-goalkeeper-signing-norwich-city/
  20. Me too, but I hope he's learnt from his red card last year and how he reacts when things don't go his way. Prem players are far cleverer at getting players sent off, though perhaps VAR will improve that.
  21. I'm ashamed to say I've never seen him play. What are his strengths aside from being well built?
  22. Someone on here (Bethnal? - apologies if it wasn't you) suggested Vrancic was available for sale last summer. Hopefully he'll sign up to an extension too.
  23. Latest announcement from the club re Squad numbers. They mean nothing these days (Lewis has 12, Emi is 17, Pukki is 22), but 3 and 9 are notably vacant (as are 21, 24, 26 and many more). Was Oliveira 9 last year? And Husband 3?
  24. There are, but there are also a significant number who are not concerned, and will buy the shirt whatever is printed on the front.
