  1. Which Norwegian midfielders have the 5 most interceptions? Is # of interceptions the main deciding factor in selections for the national team? How do English midfielders stack up against nonEnglish ones? I''m not all that impressed. But I do like Howson. Thanks for nothing.
  2. A bus wreck on the drive home. A few twisted hammies would suffice.
  3. If Newcastle and Sunderland are expected to win only 1 or 2 more games a piece, we only need 8 more points to avoid relegation even by goal difference, assuming no Villa 40 day miracle resurrection takes place.
  4. This thread brings to mind the Beatles tune, Tell Me Why, of which April Wine did an amazing cover. Why do we end or at least interupt other team''s runs of musfortune? Chelsea couldn''t beat a dead horse, neither could Villa, and Swansea hadn''t scored a 2nd half home goal since August, the latter according to the broadcast crew during that game.
  5. Give legit examples, not empty slogans. Earth will be thriving long after we''re gone.
  6. Sorry guys, but I didn''t realize the Amazon has been destroyed. Was that awful David Beckham movie shot in a studio? The tar sands were there before we arrived, and will be there afterwere gone. China''s smog is in a few cities, not nationwide. I agree we''ve made a few usually small messes, but in terms of them destroying the planet, that''s laughable. I gave you Chyenoble. wars and slums don''t destroy the planet. The Maldives example I''d another tiny one, and the plastic in the Pacific will end Mother Earth how exactly? You are a miserable lot. If that''s what turns your crank, so be it.
  7. Ive explained how twice, Hairy. I think the problem is that you''re stupid. I''m comparing Carrow Road noise to other stadiums as heard by tv audiences around the world. Typically, it''s less raucous than a lot of others. Were you at all the stadiums at the same time? I flip channels so can see and hear all of them. Nobody at any of the games can do that. Their viewpoint is skewed. I don''t know if I can dumb it down any further for you.
  8. Tell me how we''ve ruined the planet Stan. We''ve improved it by making it more liveable, comfortable, healthful, easier to transit. Those changes are provable. What changes have we made that will negatively affect future generations and the future of the planet itself? No platitudes, either.
  9. Where do you live, Herman? What mess are we leaving the planet in? It''s platitudes like yours that are intended to keep sense out of the debate. There are small messes here and there (dumps, slag, Chyrnoble) but most of our impact has been positive and made life longer, healthier, easier and more enjoyable. If you want to go back to hunting and gatheting, go for it. I like how we''ve used the gifts of nature to make life comfortable. Just because a forest was turned into farmland doesn''t mean it''s worse, just different.
  10. Excellent idea! Now to execute it and grab 3 more points.
  11. I agreed to your point earlier, Jenkins, about mic placement. I''m only giving a viewpoint of someone who has access to all the games from one vantage point, my couch. If misc are placed quite differently from one stadium to the next, you have to wonder why. Why make White Hart Lane sound crazyloud and Carrow Road not? Maybe you were in a quiet part of WHL. For people around the world watching EPL, Carrow Road doesn''t come across as all that lively. Better mic placement might gain us a bit more attention. Crapple Palace crowds have been noticed by people I chat with over here.
  12. I hope for all of those, but mainly the Newcastle Sunderland relegation one.
  13. It''s a scam, Howie. That it can be measured accurately is ridiculous. It''s hype and conjecture. Good one, Jenkins!
  14. It was definitely better in the Stoke game, and about on par with Bournemouth, Mr J. No, the players and manager don''t lie about it. They''re unlikely going to criticize a full stadium for a team that hasn''t won in a while, and probably really appreciate the full house witb that in mind. Most stadiums wouldn''t be getting max capacity in such instances. However, in comparison to other stadiums, ours is often relatively quiet. When we were at Leicester, their crowd was moribund, so it''s not just us for noise. Palace always seems to be hopping, Sunderland sits half empty. Obviously at the game there''s the excitement factor which puts your senses on high alert so everything seems even livelier but from my living room 6000 miles away, with access to every Perm game showing live on NBC Sports, it''s pretty obvious the noise at a lot of other stadiums is definitely more consistently loud. Our chants get loud but they are brief and less frequent (or maybe less organized?) than others.
  15. My comment about fan noise is based on what I hear not only from Carrow Road but also other stadiums. Unless ours is the only stadium where microphones are aimed solely at the visiting fans. Just today, the Stoke game had a lot more noise than ours. Bournemouth was about on par with us. Barclay Seat, BS, if you''re in the crowd, you can''t really tell how loud it is except in your direct vicinity. I''m bright enough to figure that out. So for all the name calling aimed at me, it''s you morons who don''t get it. Try again. Or shut the he ll up. Ya, don''t try. Just shut up.
  16. Some with the best score here would be at the top of a list based on losses and goals conceded. The main factor in either poll is minutes played.
  17. Not a lot of noise from the fans, but they seemed to realize what the tv commentary didnt, which was AN had a plan and it was executed to near perfection (a goal for us would''ve been perfection).
  18. We''ve played as well as this for the last month. This time we got something for it against a team most Pinkun predictors expected to crush us. Nothing in the last month has indicated we''re out of contention for survival. We''ve played hard, played well, used game plans that keep us in games we''re expected to lose and could have won if people taking the shots could keep their cool (today it was Dorrans). The results will come. This team (many Pinkun fans excluded) hasn''t given up.
  19. All the way to the end, Mills couldn''t figure out the plan was working apart from us not scoring. ManC had 3 shots on target. 3! But he''s wondering why AN isn''t stomping up and down the sideline yelling at players to dig in. (Maybe because they were told to back off and don''t get caught short).
  20. TGMD, I''m watching the same feed and my comments here reflect the same feeling. The guy is perplexed and too dumb to figure outwe have a plan. I hhadn''t thought of it from your angle, that he''s bitter, but that makes sense too.
  21. TV guys saying the same thing. They are flummoxed by AN''s apparent lack of concern. They can''t see the forest for the trees.
