  1. Can certainly agree with it keeping it in our minds. A lot of the time though, whether it be our circle of friends, our work colleagues, or even on this forum, it can cause great division of opinion which can often lead to resentment and to put it bluntly, the falling out of friends. That can be the ugly side of such a debate
  2. Completely agree that any hate should result in ejection, but it would be so hard to prove in a court that any booing was hateful. Vocalising a racist opinion is not booing in my book as no actual words are used. Very tricky to judge though.
  3. I know this did happen, but I wonder if ejecting someone for booing, for whatever reason, is quite right under rules and laws. Freedom of expression does sound like it's being suppressed here, by a non law enforcing body too. Whether you agree with the booing or not, I think you have to be careful with how people's views are reacted upon. If booing is banned, do we not boo, for example a former Ipswich player, through fear of being thrown out for taking part in hate?
  4. I can certainly agree with the idea that it might go on forever unless someone says it needs to be stopped. I mean, the issue will likely always be with us and accordingly, where do you draw the line as to when to stop? Its a tricky one to get right.
  5. Taking the knee this season should not be taking place, in my view, as I don't feel it's a movement that sport should be involved with. As I say, that's my own view though. Personally, I'll remain quiet with neither a boo or a round of applause. People shouldn't be made to feel ashamed for not "taking part" if that particular choice remains respectful of other's views.
  6. For me, at the point of today, with the idea of Tzolis and Sargent coming in, its that seasoned solid CB that we need more than anything. Ultimately, Hanley and Gibson are not seasoned and could end up not being up to the pace as a pairing. I hope not, but its totally possible. Big Andy is of course untested at the top level and Zimbo I'm afraid doesn't cut the (Colman's) mustard. If we could bring in someone that we feel could deal with some of the better/best attacking talent in the Prem, that'd be me happy to proceed this season.
  7. He could be the "tank" that Webber described
  8. Looks like the league is done and dusted already with Rangers winning and Celtic losing.
  9. Not sure Jamal said much wrong here. Norwich and Newcastle were both different scenarios and would therefore warrant a different reaction.
  10. True, but then again, so are Craggy Island's All Priests Over 75s Five-a-Side team
  11. He was being polite I suspect. Very much a small club, with some cash behind them
  12. Couldn't agree with this more. Effectively my thoughts at the time
  13. If that's the case, then fair play to Saka for the guts. Southgate should have overruled
  14. I felt for young Saka. However he ended up taking one, it shouldn't have been him, but rather one of the more experienced players. Sympathy with him this evening from me, but the choices of takers, I am not so sympathetic with.
  15. As much as I dislike the BBC, I won't be petulant enough to watch ITV and their continuous advert breaks.
  16. I know, would be a terrible time. Just think of all of those disused sweatshops going to ruin too. Tragic
  17. JD Sports - Allegations of staff mistreatment in 2016 and 2019. Lots of interesting articles on this in all seriousness, but I wonder if we should be trying to out them from the club as we did with a certain Asian gambling sponsor recently. Not seen much backlash on this one yet though 😜
  18. I'd love to see Lotus on the shirts. Lovely cars and they are based here. Remember though, they're no longer a Norfolk company as their parents are Malaysian and Chinese. If we want a truly Norfolk brand, then Lotus, sadly, is no longer that. I don't care about that detail though as I think they'd be brilliant.
  19. Agreed. I hope he was given the option to stay on, if he wished, rather than forced to go
  20. I'm sure he'd have been paid off handsomely but I do think it's a shame for someone to be fired for a "mistake". I know for a fact in my job, I have made mistakes and no doubt will make others but as long as the intention is always innocent and you learn from those, I'd not expect to get sacked. A disciplinary perhaps at worst. We clearly don't know the circumstances though, so wouldn't want to assume it was as clear cut as that
  21. That's superb. I hope that's true, but if not, an apt joke. Good work.
  22. Wasn't he sacked for betting irregularities, or something, shortly after that FA cup tie?
  23. Agree with all of that. Someone has to take credit for managing to wangle a career out of it for him though. Made watching that Wales game a bit tricky, hearing him.
