  1. "Stuff you've thought of but it's too dull for conversation" That this thread is by far my favourite thread. Fact. That is ironic but it's not worth discussing but now I'm discussing it. Is perpetual irony a thing? 🤔
  2. That's a better video. I'll be honest, I thought you had it wrong and Sainz got the ball because I could see his leg in front of Howsons but when you zoom in you can see Howson makes the ball first (marginally) and lifts it over Sainz leg. Good work 👍
  3. Exactly. Mentality weak. Would a Ferguson (for example) team collapse so dramatically? I never saw it. That's down to the manager, that's his job after all. Leaders on the pitch is one thing but it's not their primary role, playing is, after all, you wouldn't have a carp player on the park no matter how strong a personality he had, otherwise get Holt/Malky etc back on the pitch if leaders is all you need. Hanley is not the answer either. Inexcusable reaction to a common experience (going down to 10 men). That's on the manager.
  4. I'm currently in Vietnam and I'm going to remember this: Mopeds, a lot of mopeds. A 4WD does fit through that 3ft gap - 2mm is more than enough clearance. Beeping your horn is a courteous thing to do ... a lot. No speed cameras. Traffic lights with a countdown clock so you know how long until it changes to red. 4 adults/a family of 4 Inc a newborn do fit on a 125cc moped ... with the shopping. Texting whilst riding is clearly possible ... in crocs. Chaos organised by the road users. No need for police interference. 😄
  5. I don't think people on here are interested in your 'common sense' comments 😄 Your point is a valid one, we need a match-fit keeper in the wings should Gunn get injured and we have those, they're playing elsewhere, you know ... keeping match-fit
  6. Fantastic. I might use that as my new wallpaper. Not on my phone ... I mean all over my frekin house. Edit.. Why can't I scroll away? 🫣
  7. Funny that you should mention that today - I am very right handed but just noticed that I drive the TV remote with my left hand. No idea why.
  8. You make a fair point but this made me laugh. Nice analogy 😆
  9. Everton have stolen a living in the EPL for too long now, better teams have been relegated in the past. I'm sick of hearing how they're one of, if not the only teams never to have been relegated. A swarmy club who I expect will mysteriously survive again this year. Unfortunately.
  10. Irony ... https://www.bholegal.co.uk/bho_profile/stuart-webber/
  11. * Googles solipsistic * Not a word I think I'll try using after a couple of beers .. solipiss ... solyslis ... slipperplimsole?
  12. Interesting... https://www.rac.co.uk/drive/advice/know-how/driving-myths-your-questions-answered/ 5. Is it illegal to have open alcohol in a car? No. Although driving while over the limit is incredibly dangerous and against the law it’s not illegal to drink alcohol at the wheel, so by default it’s not illegal to have open alcohol containers in the car. The main alcohol law to remember is the UK drink-driving law, which states you can only drive if you are under the national drink-drive limit, or else face heavy fines and a driving ban. This thread has proved very insightful, it's gonna make my drive to work much more enjoyable 😁
  13. Is it still ok to strike a match and put fire in your face to light your smoke?
  14. Great post PC and good to get a proper, concise summary of what the rules actually are and what's possible. Thank you.
  15. And that's the issue right there - Ipswich fans are disconnected from reality. Stating what the equivalent of the UEFA Cup MIGHT BE is an approximation or an assumption, not a 'fact' as you state.
  16. I agree, it has increased and I made no suggestion that it hasn't. What your comment about charity has to do with anything is beyond me but I would suggest, if the support is there as you say, then let Sky give it a dedicated channel ala F1, horse racing etc.. and we'll see what the support is exactly. There will be no room for dispute then but pinning it on the coat tails as Greavsy said earlier doesn't help either party. FTR and just to be absolutely clear - I have absolutely no objection to womens football and more power to them if they succeed in their own right. If I don't want to watch it I can simply ignore it. Just like people can ignore this thread if they don't agree with Richard Richards opinion, without the need to condemn. Now ... back to my ironing...
  17. The level of support/interest in relation to how and where it is covered on TV for example. Soccer AM is being cancelled due to the perceived level of interest. I wonder how women's football would compare? I think that's the nub of the OPs argument.
  18. I agree that that Henandez is a threat attacking on the left.. I also agree that Gibson is double the threat at the other end of the pitch. Just seeing his name in the 18yd box is already making me nervous
  19. So long as they're in proportion, nobody wants excessively long hooters. And effort should be made to ensure both hooters are the same, again, nobody wants one hooter longer then the other
  20. I watched it on the red button last night and it was extremely off-putting and annoying, maybe it was too close to the cameras/mics? If thats what we want though I'll bring a vuvuzela along. The only thing more annoying was when my little sister started learning the recorder *shudders*
  21. Huh? Trial by video, in the form that I am familiar with at least, isn't to do with handling the ball after a free kick etc. The form I am referring to is to look at any contentious decision or fouls/breaches AFTER the game has ended and hand out retrospective punishment. Done properly the threat of retrospective punishment and suspensions becomes a deterrent. I agree penalising offences retrospectively does nothing to help the immediate flow of the game or restore a lost advantage at that very time, but, after a few weeks of such sanctions it would deter people doing it going forwards if the penalty was severe enough (e.g. would a player roll around for 5 minutes if there's a risk he's banned for 2 games should the video later show there was no significant contact?). As things stand, once the final whistle is blown the offending player has effectively 'gotten away with it'. The technology is there, why not use it beyond the 90 minutes?
