1. IN, it''s still far too soon to be writing Adams off.
2.
Terrible manager, we''re a whole 3 points off first place. Whatever is he doing? Get a life, all teams have dodgy spells during a season and we are having ours now. By all accounts we again met a keeper at the top of his game which seems to be the case when we are scratching around for a goal or two.
I agree with you. Those calling for Adams'' head will be chanting his name when he gets the team back on track, which I''m confident will be very soon. Fortunately the club''s board won''t make a panic decision as some of the fans would like.
3. Neil Lennon would be a terrible appointment. I remain optimistic that Adams can lead Norwich to success this season, but if he does depart then I believe replacing him with Lennon would be a massive mistake.
4. Agreed Liquidator, I''ve seen overreaction from fans before but the delight with which so many are sticking the knife in Adams already is ridiculous.
5. I''d say the latter BroadstairsR with reference to your final sentence. I think it''s an unfortunate opening-day fixture rather than Wolves being a particularly strong outfit next season, though you can never tell of course. A draw would be a good result.
6. I''ve often wondered why such a large place as Wakefield not only doesn''t have a league team, you can go down below the sixth tier of English football and you''ll still struggle to find their name. Capacity of stadium is not a criterion on which I''d necessarily base the size of club. When Cardiff built their new ground a few years ago I thought they were being conservative in their estimate and they are increasing it now. Cardiff''s population is big but its environs are very large, it has always garnered support from throughout the valleys. I''d put Cardiff City alongside Plymouth Argyle as clubs which have never had their potential tapped properly. Why top three? I''ve asked myself that. As I posted earlier their loss of top players without any replacement at the back is concerning. I was very impressed by Daehli when we played them last season (they were dreadful by the way) but they''ll need a lot more than him. Ante-Post football betting is my favourite form of betting. I''ve been doing it for decades. I can remember backing Malcolm Allison''s Crystal Palace each-way top three and they were relegated instead, and that''s a long time ago. I trust a similar fate doesn''t befall The Canaries in 2014-15!
7. I''m afraid I agree. £7,000,000 would have been high for Borini in my opinion. Remy, a much better player, is going for £8,500,000 apparently; and that isn''t comparing apples and oranges as the Kroos/Lalana arguments are. I''m concerned about Poyet''s dealings, his transfer record at B&HA was patchy. I think we''re in for another season of struggle.
8. Yes I would Morty. I can''t think of a bigger club who have spent so long in the lower divisions. With success I could see them filling a 40,000 stadium , if they had one. Cardiff is a big city with a large catchment area. It is only due to sustained lack of success that the club has appeared so shrunken for so long. The potential is huge.
9.
Cardiff City supporters would ask the same question. They still have the same oddball owner but he seems less keen to spend big money. They still have the same manager who displayed naivety and incompetence last season (never more than swapping Odemwingie for the lazy Kenwynne Jones). As you say they are losing Caulker and will probably lose Mendel too. THEIR defence, which was hardly of merit last season, now appears non-existent. However, as I''ve backed Cardiff and Norwich to finish top-three in the coming season I can only hope OGS is working feverishly in the background on at least a couple of defensive signings. It was criminal that Cardiff made such a mess of last season; for such a big club to wait fifty years to get back in the top flight and then be relegated straight away with barely a whimper was hugely disappointing objectively.
Spelling mistake on original post, sorry, and there doesn''t appear to be an edit facility.

11.
Joe Royle is an Evertonian. It is his club, the one he has loved all his life. Leaving Norwich City to join The Toffees doesn''t reflect badly on The Canaries; it''s disappointing but not a sign that things are in a right "royal" mess at Carrow Road. Having observed this messageboard since the end of last season I have to say there are some real pains on here who seem to revel in rubbishing their club and never pass up an opportunity to turn any news into an attack on Adams. I hope he shoves their words down their throats.
13.
Just signed a new 5 year contract at Blackburn.
What a strange thing for him to do. He must be on very good money there.
14. I''m not a Norwich City supporter. It strikes me that the managerial/coaching team being put together is rather impressive. Only time will tell but I think you''ve a very good chance of an immediate return to The P.L.. I''ve been surprised by the deluge of negativity since Adams was given the job permanently.
15. I would question how much of a known quantity a manager is after FIVE matches. I remember Brian Talbot getting the WBA job some years ago after winning his first five matches in charge. It all went horribly wrong after that. MO''N won something like 14 of his first 20 matches in charge of us and 7 of his next 40. ONE whole season is hardly enough to judge a manager on. FIVE matches most certainly is not.
16. I''d have hoped anybody who believes managers should manage and boards should let them get on with it. Whatever supporters might feel about the merits, and lack of them, of Steve Foley, if Adams believed he was the man he wanted alongside him then the board had a duty to back him on that, whatever the reaction of the fans.
17. Of course it doesn''t. McDermott had no experience when he took over at Reading but he returned them to The PL. Powell had none at Charlton but led them to the League One title in his first full season, having finished the previous season with a dreadful run incidentally (something those judging on five matches could ponder upon). As a non- Norwich fan I am very optimistic about your prospects under Neil Adams, I think he''s a more exciting appointment than any of the other names being mentioned. The one fly in the ointment is the revelation regarding the board blocking Adams choice of Foley. I hope this turns out to be untrue as undermining the new manager on day one is hardly an auspicious start.
18. It is to be hoped that it is just The Sun and Ipswich Town supporters stirring it, but if the quotes are genuine then it is disgraceful. The Board have taken a lot of flak, unfairly in my view, over the last few days; but if they have blocked the new manager''s choice on the day of his appointment then they deserve the utmost criticism. As you say, give the new manager a chance. That means allowing him to choose his backroom staff without interference.
19.
If todays Sun is to believed. Apparently the Steve Foley move was blocked by the board and Foley is quoted as embarressed and hurt. If this is true, Adams has been undermined on day1!
I found this story concerning. I think Adams is a good appointment but if he wanted Foley, then no matter the reaction of supporters, he should be backed by the board in his choice. Of course there might no truth in the newspaper story.
20.
I would take Tan over this joke of an owner Cardiff have OGS as manager , we have a bigger clown than the bloke we sacked .
Talk about the grass being greener. What has Adams done to deserve the vitriol so many of you are throwing at him? Looking from outside I''d say Delia Smith, apart from the obvious lack of multi-millions, is vastly preferable as an owner to Vincent Tan. Just how well do you think OGS did in his time at Cardiff? He failed miserably in his half-season in charge; not enough to judge a manager on but a lot longer than five matches. Be careful what you wish for.
21.
67% unhappy with appointment Rule no. 1) The customer is always right
Rule no. 2) Not when it comes to football fans judging the merits of new managers.
22. I don''t imagine Sean Dyche''s name was a particularly attractive one when it came to pulling power last Summer.
23. The five matches Adams oversaw have little bearing on how well he''ll do in the coming season. The figures don''t reflect how very unfortunate Norwich were at Fulham nor that the final four games (as the media constantly reminded us) were against very tough opposition; and if you didn''t already know your fate then Moyes being sacked a few days before you went to Old Trafford, so that Norwich and only Norwich got the full force of "The Giggs Effect" surely told you. I''m not a Norwich City supporter but I can''t understand just how negatively the overwhelming majority of you have responded to Neil Adams being given the job. Obviously, Mackay has proved he can win The Championship but the others being linked wouldn''t have appealed to me. Lennon, I''d have been most unhappy if a man whose only experience was at Celtic had come to my club. Don''t forget he was 45 minutes away from the sack at one point in his career up there. Sherwood, little more experience than Adams. He might turn out to be an excellent manager but he''d have been as much of a risk as Adams. Zola, one of the finest footballers and nicest fellows to play in The PL. But as a manager, failure all along I''m afraid; and oh how Watford fans must feel. Their board dumped Sean Dyche to bring in the glamorous outsider and we know how that has played out for Watford and Mr Dyche. I''m very optimistic about Norwich City''s chances with Neil Adams as Manager. Of course it could be a disaster, every appointment is a gamble, however experienced a manager is and whatever his previous record. But I''ll be following your progress and wish you well.
