Yes we have deficiencies - but the “grass” is greener mob, that have been on the back of Wagner for weeks, many of them slagging individual players off - need get a reality check! These are the same emotional idealists that yelled Farke out and got Smith in. That worked out well didn’t it! Do they really think destabilising the club with their constant whinging is doing any good for the club? Classic Jack Reeve of Talknorwichcity yesterday! Tweeting how crap we are, slagging Wagner off and now celebrating the draw. Support and get behind the club and team or pee off and support the scum!! Merry Christmas

Strange. Thats exactly what that weasel faced bloke Makenna said. Were it not for the fact that my aunty doesn’t have a c0ck she may well be my uncle. The Binners had chances. Missed them. So didn’t beat us. That tends to be how football works .

It always amuses me that fans are happy to give dog's abuse to the players for 90 minutes and then cry when the players react.

    Celebrating a draw.........tinpot 😁

All 6 were missing because they are injured. Four of those are definite starters when fit. You’re being deliberately obtuse.

Old jokes home A binner walks into his local travel agent and enquires about a short break in the New Year "Well you can't beat the Canaries at this time of year.............. or the past 15 years either"

I imagine they are fully confident of collecting your bins but when it comes to the actual day they won't be able to manage it. Maybe next year.

That's how I think it always should be unless players have obviously downed tools. I wish the rest of our fanbase was the same. Even vs Sheff Wed's the amount of times I shouted at the dim-witted around me to stop booing Angus for waiting for the opposition to press before passing was unbelievable. One time he smashed it long to ironic cheers only to see it come straight back at us and them get a shot away. You'd think fans had seen enough football to see how it works.

Well that was what Wagner is according to many on here when he picked Kenny in central defence against Bristol City. Either that or he was deliberately taking the p*ss in an effort to get sacked and paid up his contract before Christmas. Kenny then plays pretty well against Bristol and we win. "Ah well Bristol are a team of short ar**s, he'll be found out when we have to defend against a bigger team who lump it into our box in the air" Cue Sheffield Wednesday and their long throw merchant Will Vaulks and bunch of giant meat heads trying to get on the end of long balls into the box. We concede one goal from a long throw, but win comfortably and Kenny gets another assist from centre back to go with the one he got at Bristol City. "Ah well Bristol City are midtable and Sheffield Wednesday are in the relegation places - it's all very well against teams like that, but we've got the derby against Ipswich coming up and they're flying - this will be the game where the experiment implodes with disastrous and embarrassing results". And after today's game nobody, but nobody is even mentioning the fact that Kenny was playing in central defence. Time to give Wagner some credit for the switch maybe? Time for a load of vocal and loud mouthed critics to admit that they might have been wrong?

I know Barnes has started getting a bit of stick recently but lets look at our record with and without him in the squad. With him we've gotten 22 points from 13 games, without him it's 7 points from 9 games. I know it's not all down to him and the form of others plays a part but that's comfortable play off form vs relegation form. If you include the league cup it's another 2 wins with him v Championship opposition as well. He's one of those players who lifts others around him and inspires confidence, what he does might not be obvious to people watching at times but the difference in results when he plays vs when he doesn't is pretty stark and I don't think it's a co-incidence.

Apart from you. One of a number of anti club moaners, along with Keith Scott and that Coney bloke. You were even predicting an awful second half for us - at half time. There is NO ONE accepting us 'being second' best' either. Just another of your snidey digs at real supporters. The 'non whingers' are all too aware of where the club is at, and recognise that cretinous moaning by the likes of you only serve to point to where your true allegiance lies - and that is not at Carrow Road. Have a look at Man City, Chelsea. Is that because their fans are supposedly accepting second best. Or that even the best of clubs fail at times - check Celtic at home yesterday. Perhaps even your lot will stumble between now and May.

Must admit, I was really impressed with the lad, his urgency and attitude. He was really motivated. He's only played a handful of games...but yesterday he really played for the shirt. I like him even more.

Because without Gibson we don't have a CB who can open his body up to receive a pass and play through the lines. It's not a coincidence Kenny has 3 assists from CB, it's by design in the way Wagner wants to build up play. The more pertinent question is why did we sign Baath who is literally the antithesis to the above. Explains why Wagner was avoiding playing him. Also, with McLeans energy, he has often stepped into midfield from CB and almost taken on two roles for the team. A proper player and leader at this level, demonstrating it for yet another season.

Ipswich's best team for 20 years couldn't beat our worst team for 15 years. That is all.

I do actually agree with you, I thought the whole coach greet thing was a bit tinpot to be honest. I mean there is a real feel good factor around our club, and thats great, but this was just a bit too much for me. I knew we wouldn't just roll you over an predicted 2-2 on this very forum. I also predicted we would beat you in April at your place and I stand by that prediction.

I've just been looking at the City first goal When the ball is crossed Rowe was a yard offside. Then it comes across he does an over head kick nearly taking out their No 2 dangerously. Then he completes the job by bringing him down. Then as he is getting up he handles the ball to control it. Where was the Ref ? He watched it closely and gave the goal.

To be fair we are without arguably our 2 first choice CBs in Hanley and Gibson, first choice left back and the form Hwang was beginning to show before his injury ,possibly 2 first choice Strikers in Sargent and Hwang. When all 5 of them return our overall squad/bench will look stronger Also, when you have a few out injured, being able to name 9 subs probably makes it look weaker stilll further, when your'e filling it up with players who ordinarily wouldnt be around the squad

Why are we having this debate now? It’s gone, what happens elsewhere with different teams with different budgets and with coaches who have had years more experience is irrelevant to what happens to us now. It’s in the past, it’s gone. We’ve just held the team who were expecting to beat us and go top of the league, who are our biggest rivals, who we have maintained a 14 year record over, to a 2-2 draw and we are bickering over ridiculous, unknowable theories about ifs and maybes? No wonder we aren’t 100% behind the team. Disappointing. Wagner might not be the manager we want, but he’s the one we’ve got. Do we want to win? Do we want to climb the table? I do, do you?
  27. 3 points
What a ridiculous post. You'll find that many top players are 'in the right place at the right time'. That's why they're good. Rowe suffers slightly from being played in a wide position with a huge amount of running to support both defence and attack which is why he's regularly substituted off (because he's knackered). If I had my way he'd be playing centrally either as a striker or number 10, but he's doing incredibly well to be our top scorer while playing out wide. Contrast him with our other wingers and their output in terms of goals and assists. Absent from where exactly? He's incredibly hard working and still only 20 FFS.

I see versions of this argument a lot at the minute and the issue is I think you’re both right. We all know (or should know) being negative, or passive during the game or not turning up even has a negative affect on the players. It just can’t be ignored. The counter issue is why should those supporters be expected to support to the levels people high within Norwich City insist they should when it appears (rightly or wrongly, but it does appear that way) those same people in power aren’t interested in their concerns and are happy to berate or see them berated.

You’re right about the money. But you seem determined to make a massive thing about the percentage thing. It was a throwaway comment, possibly/probably ill-judged but whatever percentage it is and who it is, the only way we, as supporters, can have any impact on a game is from the stands. Why do the oppositions job for them? None of us are rich enough to start buying clubs or elite players, the only possible (admittedly limited) chance we have to level things up is get onto the opposition, pressure the officials and when that doesn’t work, we can still moan in the pub about wasting money on Coney or Sheron or Naismith or RVW or Rashica or whatever. Just save it for the pub.

2024 McCallum, Płacheta, Mair, Barden (+1), Gibson, Giannoulis, Sørensen (+1), McCracken, Rose (+1), Riley (+1), Lima (loan), Forshaw (+1), Batth (+1), Hwang (loan) (13 players, 6 with an extra year) From @Feedthewolfexcellent Contract thread. No Gibbs it’s Gibson. Personally I wouldn’t renew a single senior player in that list, it’s time for a fresh start and not one has proven themselves to be indispensable.

Nobody has said that. You cannot deny the way Ipswich fans were celebrating outside Portman Rd before the game were reminiscent of a Wembley appearance or a big Champions League game, a neutral would have thought Ipswich had just won a huge game. Ipswich fans couldn't wait for Norwich to roll back into Town so that their team could give them a hiding, did not turn out that way though did it, that is what we find so funny........

To be fair to @ged in the onion bag he makes a valid and consistent point, that the club should be developing, encouraging and playing future talent to build for the future. The criticism of this is not that we would be a weaker team, it is that we would need to go up to have the fnances to retain our brightest and best.

A poor squad ? Unbeaten in 7 games, which have delivered almost title winning points over those games - and that is with a number of what might be thought automatic choices. One of the strengths of Lamberts promotion winning side was having players like Martin who never thought they would make the PL. Clough took a team of unknowns to European Champions. Over the past few seasons, we have watched signings from outside of the UK fail to deliver. Why ? Probably because in the back of their mind they can pick up another well paid contract elsewhere (Europe). Without the desire, you will not win games. Duffy epitomised that spirit yesterday. And to talk of out of contract players being on a hefty wedge is absurd. You take what is on offer. You have virtually no bargaining power. Three regular Scottish internationals have stayed, as have two South Americans. Watch again the response to the last minute goal at Bristol. The determination to get something from yesterday was not that of a poor squad. Individually, these are not the most talented squad we have had. However, needs (financial) must. And I would choose them over Norman, Rashica, Gilmour, Kabak, Tzolis.

He’s written himself into Norwich folklore at the tender age of 20. Literally our fulcrum. He took it on himself to try and beat the binners. Hero. Should never have to buy a Beano in Norwich again. The keys to the city should have been posted to him spec dev by now

How were they supposed to get to the ground...parachute ? The fault is totally that of the police. If they did not grasp before how the binners would see this - their cup final, then they should have been aware of how things were shortly before the team coach, Delia were due to arrive. That area should have been cleared. Dogs, cattle prods etc should have been used to clear the road of the bin filth. https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-d&q=police+escort+sunak#fpstate=ive&vld=cid:1b57a13a,vid:DLSz2rCXPcU,st:0

Utter nonsense. The team w played yesterday were much the same as that which gained promotion last season, and currently sit in second place. We have a squad dictated by the massive drop in income that has, and will, hit us further. Just as it has a dozen or more ex PL clubs. That you chose to ignore that tells us where you are coming from - the other side of the Waveney, I suspect.

Must have been hard coming into and starting in such a big game away from home with such an atmopshere at the last minute due to an unexpected injury in the squad and while he may have pretty awful in the first half boy did he improve in the second. Block after block after block, and I'll give him credit where it's due for the second half he did do pretty well

I reckoned we had a chance when they rolled him out for an interview. He never beat us. And didn’t take it well. My mate a Colchester fan said he was equally hopeless for them. I just googled him . He is now a “former footballer” which is a bit of a stretch.

I think the OP makes a very valid point. Rowe is a bit like Salah during his time at Liverpool. Apart from the 200 goals and 87 assists, he's done nothing in the 327 games he has played for them.

This obsession with getting sara further forward is a bit odd to me, he arrived with a reputation for being a box to box midfielder, he does best when playmaking from deep and arriving late to attacks and on the few occasions he was played as an AM hasn't really shone... If anything it's Nunez that needs to be a bit more forward

This. Saw McLean give him a bollocking in the 1st half and I would imagine he got more of the same at halftime. But to his credit came out and was much improved 2nd half. That takes character and bottle, something as a collective the team had today
