4 pointsThe thing is that due to a degree of financial mismanagement by he who must be obeyed it does seem that the majority of us are not only resigned to selling one of our best players, but are actually willing it on. Some have even kidded themselves that Max is not the best of defenders after all and that his form last season was poor, rather than a bit below par. Whilst I will always advocate that we need full-backs who primarily are defenders rather than of equal value in defence and attack it does seem a major pity that yet another cornerstone of our recent success will be leaving the club.

4 pointsI’m at Headingley for today. Our prospects for a good watch were absolutely saved by the rain yesterday and the last 2 hours of the day, it’s now set up pretty much perfectly for plenty of cricket and an exciting finish!

3 pointsNearly broke the remote switching between Sky 404 and the Grand Prix on 406 every couple of minutes but wonderful to see us beat the shackle draggers.

3 pointsHaving a Maccy Dee definitely makes you crap. Usually within about half an hour of having it.

3 pointsOh, the game. I read the thread title and wondered what could possibly constitute a highlight of Kings Lynn.
-
3 pointsDon’t see where it says they’re not allowed a social life, just that their social life should not involve jeopardising their physical conditioning too much. Pretty sensible.
-
3 pointsI think we've always managed to look both great and poor in equal measure at the best of times. Some of our greatest batting has come as a result of poor fielding. Yet again today we somehow have a chance to win despite some very questionable batting and poor catching. But that's why we love the sport, right?
-
3 pointsYes they get paid a lot of money, yes they are professional footballers but above all they are human beings. Would you like to be told by your employer that you're not allowed a social life apart from 1 month of the year? Wouldn't think so.
-
2 pointsSo we’re told that Max and Omo will have to be sold to keep the club alive, if rumours are true you can add Angus to the list. What a complete mess this club is, the phrase “ piseed money up the wall” was never more appropriate. Still, as long as S and J can swan around to away games in a private plane, everything is well with the world

2 pointsIt looks a lot like keyboard warrior-ism Lakey. If KIO is a teacher, you’d also hope that if he saw talent in a pupil that was ignored by others, he would encourage them despite that, and do his best to develop that latent ability. The club, through three coaches now, clearly see something of value in Idah (which we all saw briefly in the PL, although most seem to have forgotten that) and believe it is worth a five year contract. I’m looking forward to him making lots of posters eat their words.

2 pointsPhew what a remarkable result, gave up when Bairstow went. Getting 250 should have been straight forward but some kamikaze batting. Too many batters out of form and inconsistent with shot selection. Need a keeper who can catch and feild down legside Bairstow gets in for his batting but fails to score. Must be replaced no sentiments.

2 pointsI don't particularly wear it. For one, I doubt the two miscreants mentioned. Duffy is new to the club and if he's such a wave maker then it augurs badly for his future here whilst Kenny has never been a troublemaker. Character yes, but he has always seemed to toe the line through the many changes he has been through, both management and style and even where and how he plays.

2 pointsAarons for 10 /15 million is cheap for someone out of the England Under 21 squad English / Experience / Pace can still improve with right coaching , we have little choice due to contract running down to cash in
-
2 pointsI can't say that I am. The people writing off our season because a mostly-reserve side drew 1-1 with a Barnet side who probably saw it as a big chance to take a scalp of some sort are probably the same ones who would either say nothing about the Lynn win or suddenly claim you can't read anything into friendlies.
-
2 pointsOh come on, you want young men to abstain from alcohol for nearly 11 months of the year with pre-season (basically all year if international commitments) for the entire formative years of their life? Do you hear yourself?

2 pointsOut of thirty or forty young men there is bound to be an eclectic mix. Some will moan, some will adhere to instructions and others will be naturally fit. I assume they all have separate health and fitness programmes so it isn't one size fits all. And I guess one or two of the worst trainers might object to a strict preseason training session either in or out of work.

2 pointsYou want he Repair Shop on BBC1, a quick tear jerking back story and they'll do it for free.

2 pointsAnyone not quite in alignment with a spastic Oompa-Loompa who got his a-r-s-e handed to him in an election the first chance they had.

2 pointsI've shared this before but nobody paid any notice. I know this because one of the non-playing staff likes to use the fact that he's really close to a lot of the members of the first team to impress girls and shows/sends them videos of him partying with them. We allow players to drink and have nights out mid-season and even before some important games. One that particularly annoyed me was when they had a heavy night out in London after beating Spurs in the FA cup only a couple of days before they lost to Sheff Utd away in our first PL season. That was a winnable game and they should have been 100% focused and professional leading up to it. Yeah the Spurs win was great but for me you celebrate things like that once the season is finished. It's not all of the squad and not necessarily the ones you'd expect either but for me if we want to be a PL team we shouldn't allow heavy drinking mid season. I'll admit I've not seen or heard of anything after about 2021 or so but this happened under Webber's watch so I doubt that things have changed and we have a lot of the same players since then. You can argue that they're young men and have a right to do what they want in their free time but at the level we want to reach I'm not comfortable with it. Arsenal fans probably thought that their players gave their all and were ultra professional before Wenger took over but it was only when he came in and made them act like professional athletes that they actually kicked on and showed what they were capable of. I've watched a few podcasts/interviews with ex players as well who have also hinted that players are allowed quite a few nights out going back a few years. So this is no secret and not really inside info which is why I don't mind sharing it. I'm sure it happens at most EFL clubs but i would have hoped that if we want to make the most of 'marginal gains' and achieve something above expectation that players should be 100% professional all year round.

2 pointsThey've only got 24 hours...one last chance, or they are finished in this town. 🤣 Apples

2 pointsHas everyone forgotten what we were like pre-Bazball? England throwing wickets away isn't a new thing. We're playing the best team in the world, I dread to think what would have happened had we played Root captaincy cricket. I suspect it would have been a 10-wicket defeat 1st Test and a 100-run plus defeat in the 2nd.

2 pointsDuffy and McLean sound like a pair of cops who are willing to break the rules if it means getting their man, I like it! Where can we watch Series 1?

1 pointI drink daily, have done for years. The occasional 'holiday', along with milk thistle capsules mean that my annual full stewards enquiry at the hospital reveals nothing remotely serious. Never get drunk though, you work out your limits. A young man who is fully fit and has a bit of a bender can surely recover totally in just a few days, if not less. Alcohol effects everybody differently. Every mind differently. We are not homogeneous as individuals, the opposite in fact. I see no lack of professionalism with either McClean or Grealish. Sometimes a release from built up tension is better than an easily eliminated dose of poison.

1 pointTongue for Robinson for me, but it's close. Give Jimmy a last throw of the dice and he could be inspired. He's capable. P.S. Folkestone is a bit of a sh_te hole actually. Dover is nicer.

1 pointChill out everybody. Nobody really knows anything and there appear to be lots of to me frankly odd questions to answer. Reading between the lines the BBC was contacted mid May with one set of (lesser) allegations, tried to contact the family (but failed) and then we get a further set of more serious allegations made via the Sun. Why not go straight to the police, possibly years earlier? The full truth will out soon enough.

1 pointWhen I was a kid, My dad would park along the road near Long John chippy and we'd walk up each game. When I was older, passed my driving test and drove some mates up who'd normally get on the bus with. Pulled up at Long John Hill and they all asking what I'm doing, started complaining about how far it was from the ground. In the end I had to drive back round and queue up to county hall to shut them up moaning. Told my old man when I got home and he was livid, He couldn't understand how there was space at Long John and instead I waited to go into County Hall. Don't think he's ever looked at me the same since.
