6 pointsA dull and damp start in Norwich this morning but it did hold off long enough to get to the ground in a fairly dry condition. The good fortune ended there however as my season ticket flashed red at the entry gate and the guy said I would have to go round to the ticket office. I said "no mate I don't think so, but I will give them a ring monday", and just walked in. Upon reflection I wonder if the football Gods were trying to tell me something. It was a very scrappy opening ten minutes with neither side able to create anything that looked like a chance. Then Idah got Pukki away but he dallied too long and the ball eventually went to Aarons who jinked into the box and went down under contact. Darren Bond was unmoved but from my position right above it seemed fairly straightforward and Aarons himself seemed incensed with the decision. At the other end the home defence allowed a free header from a corner but thankfully it drifted wide of Gunn's right post. There was little else regarding goalmouth incident until City almost pulled off a corner routine of their own with Pukki coming off the far post and laying a ball to Marquinos but the final execution was lacking and the ball flew over the bar. From then things started to get a bit fiesty with the ref allowing far too much contact to go unpunished in my opinion. Just after the half hour there was a scuffle in front of the main stand and a City player finished up over the advertising hoardings followed by a load of general argey bargey. At that stage it seemed unlikely we would finish the match without at least one red card as Mr Bond failed to stamp any real authority on the game. Coming up to the break it was the visitors who looked slightly more likely to break the deadlock as the home defence was again caught out from a corner and another free header crashed against the City bar and was scrambled away. The halftime shoot out between the Zorb's was probably more exciting than anything I had seen during the first forty five minutes and the by now, constant heavy rain promised a very wet ride home. Things didn't much improve in the opening minutes of the second period but City did final test the keeper when Marquinos cross- shot was beaten away by the Blades keeper and Pukki couldn't quite get on the end of the loose ball. The game was certainly physical and any time a player looked like getting clear they were tripped or tugged back. I know its easy to blame the officials but I felt they were especially poor today and it was fitting that when a goal came it would be from an officiating error. Just after the hour mark the visitors came forward and after a series of missed tackles and untidy play the ball found its way across goal to McAtee who looked clearly offside. I was amazed when the flag wasn't raised and a whole possee of City players pursued the ref and lino to no avail. I haven't seen any replays on TV yet but it looked clear to me. Tzolis and Kamara came on for Pukki and Idah but it didn't change the flow of a drab game where chances were few and goalmouth incident almost non existant. In all honesty United had looked slightly mored dangerous and with a quarter hour left a Billy sharp effort came back off the angle of post and bar but yet again there appeared to be a clear offside in the move that wasn't flagged. Josh Sargent, who had put in plenty of effort all afternoon started and almost ended a decent move but couldn't keep his shot down when the ball came in to him and that was about sum total of anything resembling a goal bound effort that I saw all afternoon. I hear that Marquinos did test the keeper in time added but my great grandson was cold and I agreed when he suggested an early exit as time ticked up to ninety minutes. This was probably the least memorable game I've seen so far in what is fast becoming a season to forget. We have seldom looked more than average all season and this was a game when being avaerage was never going to be enough. I should have paid attention when my season ticket failed the entry test and gone home there and then. MOM, the linesman on the Main stand side. Without him they could have played until next Pancake day without seeing a goal.

6 pointsOur record when we play at least 2 of Idah, Sargent and Pukki remains dreadful. By my count we have 33 points from 28 games with 2 or more strikers, good for 1.18 points per game. If you lay that out to the 39 games played so far we would be on 46 points in 18th. With just 1 of them starting we have 24 points from 11 games, good for 2.18 points per game. Over 39 games that would have us on 85 points 1 clear of Burnley. I don't often like these sorts of comparisons but it's similar to the one which compared us with and without Buendia in the side, the difference feels so stark that maybe there is something there.

5 pointsWe are treading water to summer now. Clear out obviously needed. Too many has beens who lack the hunger. Cull needed. And the ownership should be top of that list- let’s move on to the Attanasio era because Delia has had her day
-
5 pointsThings I am bored of saying: 1) we are crying out for a decent CDM 2) Sargent isn’t a winger 3) idah isn’t good enough 4) we need two new CB 5) we need a new striker

4 pointsWebber has done an abysmal job over the last couple of years. He did an awful one in the first prem season under Farke too. He has to take a large share of the blame for the state we find our first team squad in. It doesn’t help he appears only answerable to his wife on whom the jury also remains out in terms of ability to steer a happy ship. But I feel it also goes deeper than that. The fanbase is devoid of hope having seen through the “self funding” model and realised just how many opportunities we have wasted to truly grow the club and leave our local rivals trailing. As it is there is a good chance they will be back in the same division next season and they will be the ones with the momentum. Meanwhile our owners even manage to make a takeover a sort of death by 1000 cuts by dragging it out as we screw up a chance to go back up. Really feel we need meaningful change at the very highest level to reignite the fanbase.

4 pointsSo your summary is next season we could get promoted, stay in the division or get relegated. I will defend you against anyone who doesn't think you're a visionary.
-
4 pointsCan’t trust Webber to move us forward. More failures that successes. By his own measures he has failed. Please let’s get a fresh start.
-
4 pointsIt's been said before but the second relegation seems to have destroyed this lot mentally. Ideally would love to move on from Hanley, Gibson, Giannoulis, McLean and even Pukki at this point but most of them won't have takers.
-
4 pointsSuch drama. We'll all be back in August full of hope. Can't wait for that whatever division it is.
-
4 pointsWe're 3 points off the play-offs and financially the most sustainable club in the Championship, according to independent reports. So I think we'll be ok either way.
-
4 pointsAs an infrequent visitor to Carrow Road (just one time since lockdown was lifted) I feel that everything about the ground is fine/good/spot on except for the Main Stand which has become an anathema (to me at least.) That tiny, old embarrassment of a stand reeks League 1. We are a club aspiring to be in the Premier League. I associate it with dear old D & M as being well past its sell-by date.

3 pointsThere's no point blaming the individual players, the team selection was utterly ridiculous as played out on the field. We effectively played a 5-1-4 formation with McLean dropping between the center backs and the forward line consisting of three strikers and a winger. It was Sara on his own against the three from Sheffield plus whichever of their back 3 was wandering forwards. Playing such a top-heavy system and ceding the midfield was never going to succeed. It was almost as if Dean Smith was back. Makes me wonder how much Webber influences the team selection. In Wagner's first few games we looked coherent, like there was an underlying philosophy which we'd previously been missing. Now there's no thread to our attacking transitions, just hitting long balls and hoping.

3 pointsNew owner, sporting director, head coach, club captain? Bring it on.
-
3 pointsTrust Webber after another failed season? Not for me.

3 pointsWith Millwall drawing, and Blackburn, Coventry and Watford all losing, that was another excellent day for us. Apart from our result.
-
3 pointsSaying we're £40m in debt isn't untrue though. And while it isn't something that is a threat to our future in the short term, we've essentially leveraged all our parachute payments already. So it isn't good.
-
3 pointsTime makes you forget just how much we have wasted both in terms of money spent and opportunity. We are right back at square one.
-
3 pointsWhen you hear how On the ball City used to be sung from old footage, and how atmospheric it used to sound, it's bizarre that it has eventually evolved into a complete nonsense chant, sung at different speeds by fans, who sing it so fast it's like they can't wait to get it over with. It just sounds like a load of gibberish. Genuinely think the club should get the fans down to the ground in the closed season and 'teach' them how to sing it properly and in unison.

2 pointsIt’s certainly looking a bit tired and haggard, time for a new stand or the big move away and build again?

2 points"Probably" I.e you just made something up again.
-
2 pointsOdd this late in the season, and Lynn looking to make the playoffs. I suspect he is off to Watford.
-
2 pointsThe one thing I think we all do know is that stating with Idah, Sargent and Pukki in the side leaves us imbalanced and does not work. So it’s a concern that Wagner is persisting with it despite it delivering some awful performances. I can only assume Webber is pressuring him to play Idah in the hope he will come good as I can see no other explanation as to why he’s playing and Sargent is little better. We are best when we control the midfield in games and our technical ability shines through. We won’t do that playing kick and rush with two strikers on the wing. We need an extra midfielder in there.
-
2 pointsGiven our wage bill last season was £118 million as against £68 million for Brentford and £18 million for Luton. you called it. Sack Webber and his missus tonight.

2 pointsI would hope that there is some money available this summer and that Webber is just being coy, trying to downplay expectations and the deflate the asking price of clubs we try to buy from. He said similar last summer and we spent about 15m in total on Sara and Nunez plus loan fees for Hayden and Ramsay and that was while only selling Lees-Melou for a small fee. We have whatever was going on with the shares and parachute payment loans (goes totally over my head to be honest) plus the potential departures of Aarons and a few OOC's that should give us something to play with this summer. So I think we should be able to do a rebuild albeit with lots of cheap gambles again. Nobody really knows though but my gut feeling is that we're at the end of a cycle and unless we perform another miracle and uncover another Pukki-Buendia combination we're looking at an extended stay in the Championship over the next few years. I'm not worried about relegation though, we're really not that much of a shambles compared to other clubs (for now and in the near future) but my instinct tells me we're not going to be going up automatically again any time soon.
-
2 pointsWhich really is a damning indictment in itself if Onel (as much as we love him he really shouldn't be our shining light) and Dowell are who we miss the most The pair of them wouldn't be star players in most other Champs teams.
-
2 pointsProbably - but if you’d said that at Christmas you’d have been considered a bit mad!
-
2 pointsHernandez is exactly the kind of passion merchant we need right now
-
2 pointsI'd say this Sheff Utd team would be the poorest runners up to be promoted since the Cardiff team who finished 2nd to Espirito Santos Wolves side. The (second) best of an incredibly bad Championship this season
-
2 pointsNo clear out can happen with Webber there. We’d just sign more donkeys. And the willingness to have a clear out will be limited due to Delia’s lack of desire to spend any money.
-
2 pointsI watched it when they replayed it soon after (twice I think). Their player stuck his trailing leg out to catch Max as he passed him. He was watching Max as he did it. Totally deliberate & a stonewall penalty
-
2 pointsI'd say the problems run far deeper than the manager. This squad, assembled on the back of selling our best players, is not good enough. Its unbalanced, has no creativity and lacks heart. That can not be levelled at the manager.

-
2 pointsOh good, we are bringing on a defender and midfield player. That is 83 minutes too late.
-
2 pointsNothing about this team or the way we play resembles what you would associate with a Wagner team, same with us under Smith and in Farke's last third of a season. These players are incapable of gelling together, there's just no cohesion or logic to how the squad has been assembled or thought put into relationships that could form on the pitch. Ever since the start of last season we've always looked like a team that's never played together before playing no particular style. This is why I want a complete overhaul this summer even if it means lowering the individual quality of the team, we have to build a team that can play together coherently and in the style the manager wants. Whether you trust Webber to do that or not it's what we need. This all feels so 16/17 like before Webber took over, we're completely back to square one.
-
2 pointsHow AWFUL does the 5 year contact for Idah look right now?
-
2 pointsHanley was playing the Utd player on - just seen a replay along the line. Edit-maybe it's not so easy being an armchair ref after all..? OTBC
-
2 pointsOhhh look at that. Goal was onside, played on thanks to Hanley.

2 pointsWhat a horrible team they are. Pukki got barged off the pitch by that piece of sh!t Baldock & the ref took no notice (that was a penalty on Max BTW), that's why it kicked off with the throw on. They started off by trying to kick us off the park & it's been the same all game, as it always is with them. We're trying to out-horrible them but we're no good at it. All rather depressing.

2 pointsIf only. Highest ever league placings. FA Cup semi final, ground redevelopment etc. Yep, it will be awful to achieve that again.
-
2 pointsThis is definitely the point in Football Manager where you realise you've made some terrible decisions and load an earlier save. I expect they'll be doing that pretty soon. Summer 2021, here we come...
-
2 pointsLife's lesson... I'm off to change my will stipulating that upon my death no stray extended family who support another club can possibly take over my season ticket...
