I'd use it to build a new City Stand. That will last 50 years, whereas the players will last three or four.

Usual comments from some 'supporters'. If we lose Norwich are terrible. If we win or draw the opposition were terrible.

He's hanging on to be Webber's replacement.

Glad to see the formation is working. I've long thought we should be pkaying a back 3 to allow our wingbacks more freedom and the cover the lack of a proper DM.

    It's not a National Anthem, it's a Royal Anthem.

Donā€™t understand some of these comments. Other than the comical defending fir the goal that was easily one of our best away performances against a very good side. If weā€™d had a few more of these maybe the Spurs game would matter. Pleased those lads finally showed some grit and determination. Nice to see tactical fouls and tackles flying in, just all a bit late.

Blimey! People moan that Smith shows no imagination, he puts out a radically different formation (and the team he think could best execute it), and people pillory him for showing some imagination. We're already relegated; is it really such a calamity to try something different?

Now was the problem Ed coming on board? Or going off board? Perhaps we should have a pollšŸ™ƒ

I would have Farke in now and Webber out in a heartbeat.
  13. 3 points
We take those chances and we are talking about a perfect away performance with a good setup by the manager (despite the prematch comments). As it is, we will likely regret those misses, lose and people will blame Smith without judging the context of the game.

I would be happier if i lived in a much more equal country where inherited privilege was taxed heavily so we don't end up with so many inbreds dictating our lives.

It has struck me that our decline has coincided with our lack of chairperson . A wise head not necessarily a football person who can provide focus and bring the disparate board members together. Not sure why we dispensed with a chair but they can bring the various parts together eg finance, recruitment, training, publicity, fan involvement, club ethos etc. Ed Balls fulfilled this role and he provided a figurehead that acted as a link between the owners and the rest of the board. We have seen Webber being virtually autonomous and also the sponsorship debacle. The AGM was chaired by Stefan and it was a bit like it was ā€œBuggins turnā€ I think we desperately need a world wise high profile chairperson and preferably but not necessarily one with football knowledge. Any ideas?

A lot of people on this thread not giving Brentford the credit they deserve. It's no accident and it's not luck why they are where they are. They have had a great first season in the Premier League. For me this is particularly evidenced by their goal difference which is only -7. They've got to play Leeds at home in their last game. They've played all of the top teams home and away and their goal difference is still only -7. In contrast, with Spurs still to play at home, our goal difference is -56. That's 49 goals worse than Brentford. No I don't wish we were Brentford. I just think credit where credit is due. They've had a good season, not a lucky one, if such a thing even exists that is.

They have more points in one season than what we got in our last two prem seasons combined. let that sink.

Remember Chris Gorehams commentary when Sargent under hit that shot against Brighton when he said if only Josh wasn't pondering our lack of a chairman he would've scored. The season could've been so different.

I like this thread. Not that I haven't been bleating on about it since Xmas. What do we want? Real corporate governance! When do we want it? Now!

I'm not sure it's got anything to do with people's preferences. More the idea that a player who has twice scored 11 Premier League goals for a team that finished (or will finish) bottom on the 6th and 7th worst Premier League points hauls in the competition's history, is highlighted for criticism and the need to improve. What Pukki has achieved in two of the worst team's in Premier League history is remarkable.

I work in an area where people are measured with metrics in a not too dissimilar way. The one thing we constantly try to drive is that stats like XG should never be looked at in isolation but along with qualitative evaluation as well. Actually looking at the quality of what is measured is important because just looking at stats alone can be misleading. There was one game, Villa v Spurs, where Villaā€™s XG was a lot more than Spurs but Spurs won the game 4-0. Stats alone can lead you to make a lot of incorrect assumptions and bad judgements. So whilst the clubs will use these stats, they will almost certainly be looked at alongside other evidence as well. Never on their own.

The weird thing about football is that when talented teams have an off-day it usually has something to do with the performance of their opponents.

I was ambivalent right up to the point that the Queen paid solicitors to challenge the constitutional rights of American citizens as regards the statute of limitations on sex offences. Whatever people might think of the Americans they are supposedly our greatest ally and moreover a democracy that is fully entitled to its own laws. If the President or his wife challenged our laws in the High Court in order to get their son off a sex offence there would be a huge outcry. Shame on her

I donā€™t hate the royals but I donā€™t like them either. My issues are around the standard of living they all insist on maintaining at our expense. Do William and Kate need a mansion? Would it not be far easier and cheaper for them to live in a 4 bed new build somewhere relatively remote that is easier to protect because it isnā€™t in 500 acres? The disproportionate use of police officers when the queen comes to Sandringham means that the people that actually pay for the police have a greater chance of not getting help if a crime is committed against us. And all those police there are turning a blind eye to things like driving without due care and attention without a seat belt. Take back all the royal houses and lands, utilise them for tourism to fund their upkeep and continue the profitable aspects of the royals and shove the rest of them in a little complex of bungalows and such with a nice safe fence around it. There you go. Completed it.

Everyone has the right to react how they want. As said earlier, its not a National Anthem at all, its a Royal Anthem and a dirge at that. Its time it was changed to be something for the people of the UK....while the UK still exists because it won't for much longer.

Oh stop whining. It's a ****e anthem, boring as hell, and William is a ****, the Royal Family is defunkt and the UK is as good as over. I've never liked Liverpool FC and hate Chelsea. The city of Liverpool is great and the people are very nice. The less said about Chelsea fans the better. The FA Cup has been pretty much destroyed as a spectacle by the FA and the other arseholes ruining/running English football. Anyway, top of the morning to you and have a good Sunday.šŸ‘šŸ˜€

In the last two years the working environment has adapted to WFH better than anything I've seen in the workplace. Teams & Zoom have been a big player but I've also seen people embrace collaborative working via Linkedin, Yammer etc. What I've also noticed is that when people do go to the office they feel that they are there for a more specific reason than BAU, meetings have gained a greater sense of purpose and there is less inclination to put things off until the next meeting. The people who haven't experienced this seem to be in the anti camp.

Not sure what the problem here is? Didnt Wolves have an away kit which was in Portuguese colours a season or two back? If having deemed the Saudi owners fit and proper to own the club, they can have what ever colour of (away) kit they like its the 'fit and proper' thats the issue, not the kit

Never felt the need to sing or celebrate the national anthem. Nor do I dislike Liverpool FC. In fact out of the current top 4 surely theyā€™re the easiest to get behind? Not sure calling their fans ā€œscumā€ is entirely warranted either. But yknow, the corner of the world called Norfolk anything is possible when you donā€™t leave county lines.

Ukraine is taking back all territories annexed by the invading Russians. No one is going to stop them and it will take as long as it takes. The Ukrainian nation hasnā€™t weaken but strengthened its its complete determination to defeat Russia and drive them away. They will then have to completely compensate for all rebuilding and stand trial for all war crimes. Not 1 family member or friend in Ukraine says anything different and that is a very good cross section of Ukrainians across the country, including some formerly employed in the Azovstal plant Mariupol.

The sooner The Big Six p**s off into a European Super League the better. Shut them out of all domestic Cup competitions. Imagine the fun of being a Chelsea fan watching 22 foreigners, with a totally overseas management team playing each other for the fourth time in the season.
