Cannot believe how bullying this thread is. I do not always agree with LDC but the nastiness on this tread is unbelievable........

If it had happened at the other end, every City fan, and every poster in the match thread, would be screaming "Penalty". And rightly so. It was never in doubt

Heads should roll? Not very far, I think that you will find, as they are not spherical. I emphasise that I have no experience of this.

There are some pretty awful posts on this thread. If there’s one thing that is evidently apparent about Todd Cantwell, it’s that he loves to play. He plays with freedom, expression and tries things that others might not be brave enough to. If there’s something going on in his life, let him deal with it and let him deal with it how HE sees fit. The kid is a human first and foremost. A son, a sibling, a grandson, a friend, whatever. Just mind your own ****ing business. It appears, to me at least, it’s something very important to him and, if it is, eventually you ghouls will find out. State of this board sometimes. 😔

The board needs to stay silent unless they are making a change. I get that some people need the catharsis of demanding something, anything, in situations like this, but I can not remember a board statement ever making situations better.

Collectively the bottom 7 teams have won 2 games out of 39. Not sure it’s season over just yet

As I said on another thread, Daniel achieved our longest run of games without conceding in his first season as a response to our initially leaking goals. We know what happened once we got our confidence back. We have to stop the rot first.
  8. 4 points
Also FYI, I probably won't be going to games this season - even though I usually do go to some (as several people on here can verify) as with a covid vulnerable partner, I am going to be as careful as I can for the foreseeable future, but feel free to carry on with your one liners if you like.

Also posters really need to stop harping on about being "screwed" by VAR, stop looking for excuses.

Farke deserves a few more games, to early to be talking about his removal.
  11. 4 points
how many defeats in a row for you all personally before you turn? I think 10 would be my breaking point. But if we got to 15 a sort of morbid fascination would set in and I'd almost like to see how far we could get
  12. 4 points
Never a penalty. Was pulling his leg away contact was minimal at most. Ref didn’t give it in real time. Looks worse slowed down.

Surely Giannoulis has to be playing in a 5 at the back? Irking me a little bit how he’s not being given a chance over Williams. Williams played great at Arsenal but was at fault for the goals against Leicester and was poor versus Watford. Giannoulis was MOTM versus Liverpool then had a bad 45 minutes against City (where Mumba replaced him and got caught out twice in the exact same way), and he’s not featured in the league since! I’d much rather see us develop our own players to be honest, especially when there’s not much to choose between the two. But given Giannoulis is clearly superior going forwards, and offers genuine width being left footed, I can’t understand why he isn’t being given the nod today in the wing back role.

I think Lakey is a nice bloke and everyone being rude to him could learn a lot from him
  15. 3 points
Ohh if DCB was Daniel Farke it would make my fùckïng year.
  16. 3 points
Kabak kicked him, it’s a penalty. It was soft as **** but it’s a foul in the area. Kabaks at fault not VAR.
  17. 3 points
Which is ironic, given that you and a number of others have already given in!
  18. 3 points
What do we want? HEADS! What Heads do we want? ?????
  19. 3 points
I don't think Farke realizes Sorenson is a part of his squad.
  20. 3 points
If we are to get rid of him I just hope the club is brave enough to make the decision before it gets ugly. We always leave it too late and let things become nasty and spoil the relationship when it's clear as day we need a change. Look at what happened with Worthy, Hughton and Neil, none of them deserved the vitriol they got towards the end, but people just got so frustrated at the club for not being brave enough to make the decision and it spilt over and the managers got abuse and suffered for it. I think back to the Worthy out posters and Hughton having something thrown at him by the fans and I'm still embarrassed by it but it was the clubs fault it happened. I'm hoping it never gets to that stage with Farke but knowing the club like I do I'm not optimistic to be honest

Can't we just forfeit our remaining games and stop wasting everyone's time? 🤷‍♂️
  22. 3 points
Tbh, thought that was a decent performance away from home to a side who are joint top (at this point in time). We gave 2 silly goals away, apart from that they didn't look like scoring. Whilst it didn't click in attack. Thought there was lots of positives to take into Burnley game.

You could also count those times we lost a few in 1976.
  24. 3 points
Normally Id agree. But we've been porous at the back and we need to stop the rot. A point today would be fantastic. Id take a 0-0 all day long

You are the only person I know who voted for Brexit and subsequently has re-evaluated and changed opinion as a result. I've stated before that is an honourable thing - to think about a stance and then state you think you mis-judged etc. However, it is more than that, much more. As we get older, the tendency is for people to get set in their ways, their politics ossifies, they rely on so-called experience, knowledge. Hardly anyone can tell them anything. I have acquaintances who still cannot accept any other view, despite all the accounts (and I'm not talking here of popular media opinion) of the likely effects that the UK would face. It takes a very principled person to change tack, to remain open-minded. Admitting you're are wrong is (imo) far better than believing you are always right. When one is wrong about something you have a revelation and a kind of happiness that no longer is something fooling you. You are more alive for it if anything. A lot of the world's problems come when folk are too rigid. The peace process wouldn't have happened for one example without a change. Many more examples. Of course there are a myriad of influences on labour shortage problems, skills shortages, poor pay. These are structural, built into a system that has been hollowed out, a just-in-time mentality or purely run for profit. The care and health sectors have struggled to recruit for so long and investment has been inadequate. It's not as if labour shortages were not warned about a long while before Brexit happened is it? Some industries and sectors shouted loudly - but into a populist wind. Any arguments made were just "Project Fear". Peace in Ireland another, voices also in the agricultural sector. I wish there were more voters who felt like you did or were able to look at things in new ways. Even accepting another person's view would be a start but it so rarely happens on this forum. And I believe this forum is just a microcosm of society anyway. Very few want to risk feeling stupid by admitting they had perhaps mis-judged something. Not to appear to be patronising but all power to you for seeing things as they are.

" Petrol shortages in Germany, I suppose that's due to Brexit." Gavin Esler on Twitter: "Just checked with friends in Germany - they have no fuel shortages, no acute HGV driver shortages, no empty supermarket shelves, no gas crisis, no panic buying. “But we also have no Brexit,” as one of them pointed out." / Twitter

I thought Webber said one of the mistakes made in 19/20 was that they moved down their list of targets too quickly and they would not do that this time. Hence we got players in during and at the end of the window. (I don't know how we are back to the window staying open for the first weeks of the season. I thought that had been changed). But I see now the criticism is that he didn't sign players from down the list earlier like last time. I rather suspect the same people criticised both options. I don't know why people are so keen to write us off but clearly after the booing this last week, and the comments on here, we are at that stage with all the good will gone. I think we've signed good players and I think we can stay up with these players but I'm not so sure that doing so would be enough to get the fans back on side. Apparently Kabak is a £22m player while Ajer is a £6m player. But peoiple seem to wish we'd signed Ajer because we could have done the deal months ago. I doubt Ajer or his club thought they could do better than Brentford. Otherwise if he'd any ambition he'd have waited for better clubs to bid. I also don't get how all the new players seem to be included in 15 straight prem losses and yet Emi is seen as our only chance of winning. I love Emi and wish he was still here but he has many more of those losses than our new players that are being written off.

Buendia didn't want to play for Norwich anymore. Which rather ruins the whole "he would have kept us up this season" argument.

I know we have other defensive issues and are capable of conceding goals but it was pretty pivotal and once again we have been completely and utterly screwed over by the VAR system. I didn’t watch the game but saw a clip of the penalty. I had assumed the ref gave it and VAR backed him up. To find out that wasn’t the case is gutting. For anyone watching that replay the guy is clearly and indisputably diving and falling to the ground before there is any contact (which in itself is not enough to bring him down anyway). How the f**k is that a clear and obvious error? It’s a disgrace and basically corrupt.

I think we will stay in teh premier league. We had a decent preformance today. 5-3-2 will do wonders for our defense. We will start keeping clean sheets. Mathias Normann says he is 100% sure we will turn it around. He said he believes in teh project, the club and the coach. I also believe in it all We did look defensively solid. Mathias Normann isn't Oliver Skipp, but he is very good for us there. With him down at the base of the midfield and three players at the centreback the fullbacks can bomb forward like they did in the second half. I think we will beat Burnley to go past them in the table. So lets not **** our pants every body 🙂

I'm failing to understand how losing 2~0 makes us defensively solid 🤔

FYI otherwise engaged today. All I would say is stick with it, another away game next and still only 3 points off the team in 17th place. OTBC

So what practically are you suggesting? Moaning endlessly on the Pink Un message board doesn't seem to be having any impact - you need to up your game and do something about it. You can't keep on doing the same thing week after week and expect things to change - you need a plan B; a change of tactics; to try something new. I don't want to be impolite but your current efforts just aren't working. So here's your chance - what are you going to do about it in the next week?

I agree with half of this, he will be given more time.

Sorry but if Howe and Lampard are out there, that has to be a consideration. Failure to get points out of Burnley and Brighton it's game over for Farke, if not before. We can't defend, midfield is spineless and toothless upfront. Plus it's dreadful to watch right now.

Fortunately I was panic buying beer this morning so I’ll be fine this evening.

That's us relegated. 32 games left, and to stay up, we need to pick up points in half of them. It just ain't gonna happen.

VAR was demanded by most managers. All it has done is cause more controversy than existed in the first place. Ref didn't give it. He was right. The player had lost control of the ball and Aarons would have got it. But because someone in a dark room tells the ref to look he is telling the ref he has made a mistake. And the replays show us something contentious and not necessarily a clear and obvious error.

Rubbish absolutely shocking decision , thankgod i watched most of my football in the 70s and 80s and didnt have to put up with this ****e VAR crap

He’s played the most games but I’m personally not buying the Hanley scapegoating, as a defensive unit the team has been garbage. You can look at most of our goals and they are a catalogue of examples of defensive inadequacy from all through the team.

A quick explainer on how the EU logistics model worked and how Brexit barriers have crippled us. A Romanian registered truck would pick up stuff from Italy, bound for the UK. It would then pick up stuff in the UK, bound for another drop in the UK or back to Europe. Their profit relied on quick turnaround and especially little to no border checks. Freedom of movement so to speak. This way freed up domestic drivers to do local, domestic deliveries, which we had just enough to do this job. Now there are border checks these logistic companies will not take on jobs bound for the UK. Which also means no more extra pick ups. So our own drivers have to pick up the slack. This has stretched our domestic logistic firms to breaking point. It's all in the details and the RHA and logistic firms have been shouting and warning about this for a long time. The fact you failed to heed the warnings, or pooh-poohed them as project fear are your own fault. Listen next time.

Thought the British workers would be queueing up every day for the jobs, pay increases were never mentioned, just the Europeans are taking our jobs. Do you propose there should be visas for farm workers as well ? We told the European workers to f*** off out of our country, why do you think they would want to come back, it has just been lie after lie. Why does Boris not tell us about how the Europeans are behind in the vaccine race anymore ? Why does he not tell us how many vaccines we produce compared to the EU and why the f*** did he have to lie in the first place. We were told there would be 350 million a week for the NHS, we weren’t told there would be a 1.25% NI increase to pay for it and even that is a lie as the 1.25 % is clearly the same amount raised as the booster programme will cost.

Now hold on a minute. You can't post what you did at the end of the window and then claim you still hold the previous criticisms you posted beforehand. You yourself said, "my bad for doubting". I'm afraid, that rules out all the previous stuff you posted. So, no less than 23 days ago you credited the board for one of the best windows we've ever had and Webber for plugging all the gaps. Skip back to present time, only a mere 23 days later, and you've gone full circle and basically agreeing that Webber should be sacked. That is the literal definition of petty, pant-wetting and flippant rubbish.
  49. 2 points
But, you didn't question the window all summer, did you DCB? What you actually said, once we'd made all our signings, was: I've put the key bit in bold, just in case you didn't want to read through everything you posted.

Christ, they're all out now aren't they... We sold Maddison (our best player at the time) and signed Emi (a complete unknown at the time). The very thing you are blaming is the very thing that supports your apparent argument. Your post lost all credibility after that for me.
