I have supported Norwich for over 50 years, and I don’t think I have been as ashamed of some of our supporters than after the Watford game. The utter drivel I read on various social media accounts, the booing at the end of the game. And yes before you start I was there. Shouts of “”Farke doesn’t know what he is doing” even as far as “Farke out”. Lower your heads in shame, myopic, lacking in perspective garbage. 7 of those players yesterday who were on the pitch did not play for us last year, 2 were making their debuts. There was signs of promise, but yes it was a bit disappointing the result, but what you expect throw everything up in the air and expect it to fall down on the ground perfectly and gel, it won’t happen!! Blaming Farke is naive and moronic !! Some of you should just go support the shi— te down the road. Pathetic - be careful what you wish for city fans!!!

And just when I thought we had already reached the bottom of how silly posts there can be. So, you'd really want one of our best performers in the match to give public apology that he had run out of steam to cover fullback who played himself out? After his first game here? Really?

He wasn’t wrong LDC. We offer nothing at this level. We can’t defend, we’re toothless in attack, sure we can pass the ball sideways across the back line but we lack any kind of credible “threat” in this league, no team is worried about playing us, we’re a routine 3 points for anyone, even the sides we get promoted with.

I would pick a pretty much full strength team for Tues night.

Freedom of speech means people are entitled to express their opinions regardless of if you like it or not. What is truly ignorant is not realising people can have a different opinion to you and trying to force your opinion on others. if you are as old as you claim then you should be ashamed by such childish behaviour

What appears to be being wished for is - A rich owner like Derby Lampard - great job at Derby breaking the bank, then spending millions at Chelsea and being sacked. Howe - who gets homesick when he gets north of London, wins when he has a financial advantage , and ended up taking Bournemouth down. Big Sam and Chris Wilder - relegated or sacked when bottom last season. The who’s fault is it list for yesterday appears to vary but so far we have, Delia, the Board, Weber, Farke, Hanley, Kabak, Williams, Gilmour, McLean, and the fans.

Yes how dare fans who’ve seen their team lose 15 premier league games in a row and who are fast becoming a laughing stock express any dissatisfaction.

You accuse Farke of coming out with drivel................................ I guess you don't understand irony.
  9. 5 points
Whether we've heard of them is irrelevant. Kabak and Normann have played one game, Sargent has one start, Tzolis similar. Rashica has looked a threat but not on the same wavelength as his teammates. Williams really struggled yesterday though I agree. I know we can't give them all a season to get going but we can give them more than one game before making a judgement...

These aggressive broadsides are impressing nobody. Whilst I largely agree with your overall points about both the booing of the team and the criticism of the substitutions, there's simply no need to talk to one of our most respected posters like that. Ricardo takes the trouble to write us a match report every week, and is an excellent barometer of where the club and team is at; he's one of a few fans on here who has been supporting the club for a lot longer than the 50+ years of service you claim. I would respectfully suggest that you perhaps go and sling your excrement around on one of the club's Facebook fan groups if you lack the necessary decency to debate respectfully. I know it's easy to show some attitude from behind the anonymity of a username, but you're coming across as pretty lame.

I've made my feelings clear about wanting to play the 4-2-3-1, but let's take a look at why the 4-3-3 is failing. They're pretty similar systems - both effectively 4-5-1 so what's the big deal and why does it matter? It all comes down to the roles in midfield both when we have the ball and when we defend, and in particular how we deal with the transitions between the two. Our offensive transitions have been the source of many of our goals in our two Championship successes and our defensive transitions have proved our downfall on countless occasions in the Premier League. Our defenders are the ones who look exposed when the final ball comes in, but they have to be protected by the midfield. Right now (as well as looking pretty toothless in attack) the midfield are simply not providing the cover for the defence. That means covering the wide areas when the opposition double up on one fullback, and tracking the runs from midfield into the box. Two jobs that they're failing to do. In the 4-3-3 the two wide AMs are the focal point of our attacks. They pick up the ball in wide areas, drive into the channels and whip the ball into the box for the striker and anyone who bursts forward from midfield to attack. Crosses from wide areas are not Pukki's strength and we don't have a great deal of aerial ability in the midfield so it's a baffling strategy in this team. For the system to work to our strengths, the AMs would need to work narrower and look to play more intricate football on the floor. This doesn't seem to be Rashica's strength although, to his credit, Sargent seems to have some versatility in this regard. Defensively, the 4-3-3 is deficient in wide areas. Because the AMs are the attacking outlet, they are often far too high up the pitch when we lose the ball to be able to provide defensive cover to the fullbacks. That means the CMs need to be very disciplined and read the danger in those wide areas. They obviously have a hugely important role in the central areas to stop us getting overrun and they need to read the game exceptionally well to figure out where the overloads are and close them off. They aren't doing this consistently enough. When we build up from the back, we need our CMs to be the creative part of our team. They have to receive the ball in tight areas under pressure and quickly move it on to the attacking players so that they can use their movement to cut through the opposition. With the AMs already high, there is an emphasis in the 4-3-3 on pinging the ball out into the channels, often where the fullbacks will be overlapping and in space. Again this tends to result in crosses into the box rather than keeping the ball on the floor which has been so much more effective for us. This brings us on to Gilmour. As far as I can tell, he's supposed to be highly creative, have excellent vision and be able to pick out passes to open up the opposition. He's actually not terrible at this although he seems a little hesitant to turn if he's facing his own goal and he isn't quite finding the pockets of space from which to create openings, but at least he's trying. However, he is failing to show the positional discipline when we lose the ball. Whether it's a lack of pace or a lack of awareness is unclear but he is not providing cover and he's not tracking runners from midfield. He doesn't seem to understand the concept of a tactical foul where it would stop a breakaway. I just don't think we can carry a player like this while he learns his job. Not that McLean or Normann were particularly effective defensively either. Normann inexplicably failed at either pressing the ball or tracking the runner from midfield who, ultimately, ran in behind him unchallenged and cut the ball back for the goal. And Kenny gave the ball away horribly for the third. The three of them as a group left the defence exposed. So, why would a 4-2-3-1 be any different, isn't there one less defensive player? Well, yes there is one less CM for the addition of a number 10, but that's only part of the story. The two CMs in the system we played last season were both much more tactically disciplined, acting as a double pivot of two CDMs. Their defensive discipline gave license to the number 10 to stay further forward and create a problem for the opposition midfield: if they left him then he would draw the defenders creating space for Pukki - a tactic we exploited countless times - and if they track him then it creates space for the CMs to move into. It also allows the fullbacks to get forward while one CDM drops between the CBs and the other covers any gaps left by the marauding Aarons. And, in the 4-2-3-1, the wide AMs play a little deeper and have a greater responsibility to track back and defend. That's ok though, because the number 10 is the outlet in central areas so the wide players can look to play throughballs from deep rather than having to attack the channels; the former being our biggest strength.

This is a very good question. But first a few observations. 1. Watford’s goals yesterday came from first Kabak and then Hanley allowing their man to come across and in front of them. The third from an horrendous miscue. No midfield formation or combination is going to stop that, save for a midfielder not skying a clearance! 2. Last year we considered ourselves more solid defensively, largely because we conceded less goals than two years before. But we still did concede, actually quite regularly, but this was disguised by scoring more than the opposition. There is no way that we are going to suddenly become that team that is impossible to break down and churns out clean sheet after clean sheet. We need to balance up the likelihood that we will concede at least one, by having more attacking threat. 3. We have sold a diamond in Buendía and bought semi precious stones. No critiscism of that it reflects where the club is financially. It also means we are not suddenly going to be severely weakened by injuries. However we are not going remain in this division with semi precious stones. So do we have any potential diamonds that can be polished? I would suggest Cantrell and although early days Tzolis, with judgment reserved on Normann. So a way needs to be found of playing these as starters, much like Lambert found a system to get the best out of Wes. 4. 4-3-3 has yet to work and more worrying has shown no indication that it may work. As suggested above a formation needs to be found to allow our best players to start. Stubbornly sticking to a preconceived system that is not working is not going to cut it, even if your recruitment has been with this in mind. So to answer the question posed: For me 4-2-3-1 is a better system for getting our best players on the pitch and providing a greater attacking threat. So a top 4 ( the 3-1) from Pukki, Sargent, Cantwell, Tzolis, Raschica with Idah and Dowell as back up. The 2. Well Normann although I accept too early to really know and then one off Lees-Melou, McClean, Gilmour, Rupp. Possibly also Sorensen, although he is one of those players whose ability and reputation seem to have improved by not playing.

Five games in and I'm already tired of this revisionistic claptrap. A few weeks ago everyone was happy with our signings. Yes, we were all gutted about seeing Emi going, but he wanted to leave and his sale funded a large chunk of a new team. We got the types of players everyone was calling for and I didn't see anyone complaining. Even DCB, the most misery laden horses **** of the lot, wrote a well done note. Now it is unproven cheap gambles. Get lost.
  14. 4 points
Ridiculous. No reason to sack him whatsoever, not even a question that should be asked, but if anything, he needs time to get the best out of the new players.
  15. 3 points
Was going to add to that title, but it sums it up for me. Booing a team when they are struggling, booing a manager when he is trying to get the best out of his team and new players at the start of a campaign....just tin pot.

If you watched a game and we lost when you were expecting us to win. Do you : A) Swear, get annoyed but then, ultimately get over it, get on with your life and hope for better next game. B) Cry about it and try to get rid of one of our best managers C) Take to a message board and make a stupid thread, asking a stupid question. Nevermind, I know the answer. For the record, I'd do A.

I've stayed away from the forum for a good 24 hours though tempted to like some posts. Your common sense though has brought me here. I still support the project which you've more than hinted at: * Signings that I have been intrigued about and bought at good prices (for us). Never thought we could attract a player like Tzolis for example. Farke has been a factor * I like the fact that there is harmony between board/management and we are not seeing the kind of upheaval we have seen at other clubs (Sheff Wed, Derby...many others) * I didn't expect many points from those first 4 games. Then we lost yesterday (Farke has yet to win a point against a Watford team I heard). Am I panicking? No, bollux I'm not. Am I resigned? No. It's still early and it feels to me like we have a brand new team. Nothing like 20/21 in the Championship. And...though we won the league, we HAD to bring in new faces. Everyone (well, most) were pleased with the window. Jeez, two played their FIRST ever game yesterday. The moaning on here is justified for a poor performance....but talking of sacking the manager now is beyond stupidity for our club. * I will wait til 12/13 games are played before giving up on my club for the season and resigning myself and my expectations to relegation if we don't get many points by then (feel we need a minimum of 11 by the time game 13 is played). I watched Chelsea blow Spurs away today. They have the England captain and a whole load of experienced players and a very experienced boss. It happens. Last year Southampton lost a match 9-0. Hell knows what this place would have been like if it was us. Hasselhuttl is still there. I say this to make a point about perspective. Is it Farke's fault that Ozan missed his marker yesterday? That Kenny McLean made an horric attempt at a clearance gifting Watford the chance? Too often folk cannot wait to jump on the manager blame wagon. I don't expect there are many managers as motivated than Daniel Farke in being a successful manager in the PL right now. He has said as much. What is needed now is real support not trial by keyboard warriors on social media. When times get hard you have to support in my view. A few weeks ago DF couldn't do much wrong. Then we lose 4 games we knew were difficult and played crap for 60% of the fifth game..... We are seeing more like 2 strikers up the field and a virtually new midfield and 50% new defenders. I realise this is an unpopular post for maybe 60% of posters on this board right now but (and I will leave my usual temperate persona here) I couldn't give a f*ck. I would ask for a bit more patience to see if we can turn this around in the coming weeks. Sorry. Long rant.

Honestly, I'd get the team together and have an open debate on where everyone feels it's been going wrong. I'd also speak with the board about bringing in a more experienced defensive coach who's played at this level and knows the tricks of the trade - As it feels that we have a strong theoretical coaching team, but no grit of realism of what's needed on the field of battle. Also, someone to bring the hairdryer treatment those players into not making stupid mistakes. Farke needs a Nigel Pearson style assistant to back him up, someone who genuinely will not settle for slackness and send out the team for second half with a rocket up their ****. Sure these are young players and you need to be more delicate, but they'll feel hell of a lot worse if this carries on then someone telling them the home truths midway in matches to be able to correct it.

It can sometimes remind the powers that be that things are not well and will not be tolerated much longer. I considered my booing of Hughton an act of support for my club insofar that it helped encourage the directors to sack him.
  20. 3 points
I have not voted because of the make up of the title, specifically the "We" part. I have no power to either sack Daniel or keep him installed. If the question was should the board sack Farke i would say no. Relegation is irrelevant to me, as a City fan im used to it happening. If in the next four years (yes, not just right at this moment) City at least retain their top 21 status, continue to blood new young players who can be sold on at a big profit to keep the club good and solid, carry on being Championship top dogs playing sweet football, then the Board i would hope would allow DF his full contract time. I of course would adore to see City somehow stay in the Prem more than one season but the above is far more important and is what is our reality right now. A good chunk of the new signings were swayed to join City based on talking to, and what, Daniel said to them...a heck of a lot of work was involved getting them here..they need time to gel, get used to the Prem etc etc...no length of losses will change my mind that what we have right now is the best we could ever hope for compared to 4 years ago pre SW / DF.

There comes a time when booing is justified and I can think of several of those during the Chase era and if you haven't got a cushion to throw its probably the best option. The last time I can remember booing was the game before Chris Hughton got the push. That was enough to make my cat boo and it was clearly the correct response. Personally I can't see anything to boo about this season, the effort is plainly there, we just happen to be in a league where it is now more difficult for a club like us to succeed. I am disappointed that we aren't better but not entirely surprised and if I wanted Farke out I might be tempted to boo but I don't and I don't believe there is anyone out there who could do better. The last 15 years have seen some of the most exciting seasons in my supporting lifetime and I'm grateful for that. Establishment in the Premier League may now be beyond a club of our financial standing. It is what it is but it isn't yet time to boo.

Villa Fan in Peace... I have commented on this forum a few times and just popped in to see what the view is after yesterday's result. As a supporter on a club other than Norwich I can confidently say and I know this is the feeling of other non Norwich fans but we do not see you as a joke of a club. The view is that the club is reasonably well run but is happy to be a yoyo club and take the PL money every second year. The view would also be that Norwich should be a relatively easy 3 points. My own personal view is that Farke is not up to the job in the PL. I appreciate he has new players etc and is adapting to the PL but so too do every other club in the division including the clubs that Norwich are competing with for 17th or above. I wouldn't write off Farke yet if he hadn't had the experience of promotion 2 years ago. But he has been here and it appears he hasn't learned from it. And it is no much use saying it will come in time etc, you don't have the time. If you fall too far behind then there will be no way to come back. A few thoughts on some of the comments on this thread - I really do not like the reference to fans that complain about the situation being referred to as not real fans. It happens on all forums and I think it is about the biggest insult that could be dished out - Someone said that managers of Leeds, Brentford and Villa were better at adapting. There is probably something to this but equally none of Leeds, Brentford or Villa sold their best player on promotion. I appreciate this may be a sore point as it was Villa that bought Emi but cashing in on your best player at promotion is, imo, the wrong thing to do. Club's need to improve on quality and not reduce quality. Sarr for Watford showed first hand exactly why so yesterday - I can't understand why Farke doesn't get a defensive coach in. You look so fragile at the back and he needs help. All managers need specialist help and that is not a negative reflection on Farke. However, the fact hat he hasn't got the help he needs is a huge part of the reason why I think he needs to be replaced if Norwich want to spend more than 1 consecutive season in the PL Everton up next. Some of their fans are a little worried about this game. DCL and Richarlison are both confirmed to be out injured and Pickford is a major doubt. The are hurting after losing yesterday and the fans hate Rafa and could turn on him very quickly. There is hope for a decent result against them. Anyway, best of luck for the season and hopefully u will take 3 points against the Toffees

Emi is the reason we are in the Premier League and his sale is the reason we will be relegated. It really is that simple.

I think it’s important we play the team we expect to play in the league against Everton. with all the issues pre season and the late signings we need to gain some consistency and understanding amongst the players. They need to learn to play together as a unit (especially the defence). I know Farke is searching for his best 11 but all the shifting of players in last coupe of games isn’t helping. Start with the planned first 11 and the whatever the score switch it after 60 mins to give a rest to those who need it ahead of Everton

I love that booing a poor performance and result is considered “tinpot”, what Earth do you think happens at Anfield, Old Trafford etc when those teams lose winnable fixtures at home? The fans pay good money to see their team, we’re on a dire run of form in this league, this was a game against relegation rivals, the manager deserved to hear our displeasure. We’re too bloody nice and that’s part of the reason we roll over so easy in this league.
  27. 3 points
If he was going to take Sargent off then Idah was clearly the replacement and if Normann was flagging then a straight swap for Rupp was the obvious move. Taking off the two most physical players and replacing them with powder puffs killed the contest stone dead.

How dare they slag us off after 5 straight defeats.

"Shambles" really? Clearly must have had my yellow tinted glasses on because I saw a team who definitely competed equally during the game but got punished for one dreadful error from McClean, and one example of tiring players failing to get back with the necessary speed and energy. Do you honestly think this "proves" Farke is out of his depth (The same manager that masterminded a 3-2 victory against Man City). Are you really suggesting the players didn't give their all yesterday? If not, why would you not condemn booing them? As the Rhino 1 said, this is very much a new team with two players making their debuts. I too felt ashamed that their welcome to the club was to be on the receiving end of such an insult.
  30. 3 points
Farke has an 11% win ratio at this level after 43 games. Fans are completely fine to air their grievances with him.
  31. 3 points
Our two most important signings of the window have only just made their debuts and some of you people want to sack the manager? Seriously? A manager change right now would cause total chaos, IMO it’s the last thing this group of mostly unfamiliar players need in this moment. They need stability, they need to build that understanding of their place in the squad as well as those around them. Farke clearly provides that platform, and these are the players Webber acquired to supplement Farke specifically. Webber did great with the transfers this window, on paper at least we can agree, but waiting until the very end of it for our ‘Plan A’ targets has clearly impacted our early season performances and will probably continue to do so. But it is hardly a surprise when you combine that buying strategy with losing your best two players at the other end. Because of this, Farke deserves more time and to be honest he deserves much better than this kind of response from some of our fans. Another thing - continually bashing him for our post lockdown form 2 seasons is nonsensical when it ignores the fantastic season inbetween. I know the statisticians and pundits like it but we should be able to recognise the wider context and give the guy a bit more respect. I will freely admit there’s some rather stark similarities to 19/20 at the minute, but it’s a new group of players; and the time they and Farke need to find form should not be hindered because we finished poorly two years ago, that simply isn’t fair. Yes we were absolutely **** today and deserved to be boo’d off, Farke must shoulder some of the blame and things will become untenable if he cannot get us up from these performance levels in the coming games, but I simply cannot fathom those advocating to sack him already off the back of effectively one terrible performance? With the debuts of Normann and Kabak now out of the way, I personally think that today will mark our worst performance / result of the season and the beginning of the end our post transfer window ‘teething’ issues. It’s going to be a messy period but let’s see if we can start to turn things around.

We arrived well before time and with our CR codes at the ready but nobody asked to see them and there were still long queues to get in. Once seated I had a look at the team selection and could only surmise that the manager had thrown all the names into the Tombola machine again. It was a pleasant Autumn afternoon as City kicked off towards the River End but from the early moments it was plain that Watford were not there to just make up the numbers. A couple of dangerous corners were weathered but I was instantly struck by the amount of room the visitors were allowed on both wings. Sarr especially was a real handful down the right and you could see that Williams was in for a busy afternoon. City threatened when a low free kick skipped right through the Watford defence without Pukki or Sargent being able to make contact and a minute later Raschica's cross skidded off Sargents boot as the big striker stretced to make contact. The visitors were certainly very physical and had little compunction in stepping outside the laws of the game whenever City tried to build from midfield. Just before the quarter hour Normann had a long range free kick comfortably saved by Foster which in truth was overly ambitious. I was hoping to see City exert a measure of control now that we were playing the lesser lights but if anything it was Watford that had the edge and proved it in the 18th minute with a fine headed goal by Dennis. The ball was neatly passed about on the right before Cleverley picked out his man with a fine cross. It was deflating for the crowd who had begun in good voice and it was a while before City regained some composure. There was some neat play at times with Gilmour pushing the ball about nicely but a complete lack of any goalmouth action down our end was very worrying. Sargent was putting a lot of effort into the game and showed perhaps a spark of getting on the same wavelength as Pukki at times but it was Normann who made the telling contribution when the equaliser came. On 35 minutes a wonderful ball was lifted over a defender for the City Talisman to race clear on the right of the area and slot the ball past the advancing Foster for 1-1. It was fairly even from here to the interval although Tim Krul had to make a good save to deflect the ball for a corner as City were almost undone by a late counter attack. At the interval I had to agree with my son that on balance we were a little fortunate to be level and what we had seen was a little less than we had hoped for. If Watford are one of the poorer teams then this was indeed a bad sign that we were in for a very long season. From the whistle the home side came forward with much more purpose and the visitors defence was all hands to the pump for several minutes. A couple of corners were won and a shot charged down in a bit of a scramble but it couldn't be sustained as Watford began to look lively again. Just after the hour King, found himself in acres of space twenty yards from goal, a run and a quick cut back and there was Sarr to net from close range. Deeply depressing to be caught so wide open again. Approaching 70 minutes it was clear that changes were imminent as Cantwell and Tzolis waited to come on. You could have knocked me down with a feather when the changes were announced with Sargent and Norman coming off.. A highly physical game against a very physical opponent and we take off the two players who appeared best placed to stand up to it. I couldn't have been more surprised if Tim Krul had been hauled off. My son remarked "well thats it, game over", while I just shook my head. City huffed and puffed with some neat passing that might have broken down a Championship side but never looked like causing Watford any concern. All that remained was for Watford to break swiftly again and Sarr to net his second. I thought there was an offside in the build up and the lino did raise his flag but the longer the check went on the more obvious the decision. It looked a lot like men against boys the last time we were in this league and on todays performance it is very difficult to dress it up as anything better this time round. Its been a hard start but this surely was a game where we would be able to judge the quality of our recent additons and get some idea of our chances in this league. To be brutally honest I don't have much confidence in either at present. Gilmour decent, put himself about, Norman, some gorgeous long passes, Sargent, very industrious and will certainly become a favourite. There was plenty of effort, shame about the boo's at the end. While there's life there's hope.

These are my sentiments. Criticism is absolutely justified, but booing is just ridiculous in the fifth game of the season when you are trying to get a team sorted, with a disrupted pre-season, the nature of the first four fixtures and new players who have had just one week's training with the squad. Anger, frustration, disappointment, I accept that is going to happen, but booing is in my book a last resort......but it seems these days as if it is the first resort. Shame, really.

Anyone under the illusion that these were ready made players are smoking the good stuff. I remember only a few weeks back people claiming that Farke had no excuses now he has the players - it was just crazy talk. It's all on Farke's team to turn this into diamonds and he's had so little time to do it. As i see it, we either write them off and give up the season, or we put some trust in the system and give them time to gel - we're nowhere near seeing the best of them yet, *Tzolis hasn't even started a prem game, Kabak and Normann first game in the yellow shirt. Still a long long way to go before i start crapping the bed. Can't lie, i can feel the bad stomach and wind filling the duvet... But holding it in for a few weeks yet. 😉 * Sorry, got that wrong duh. Perhaps should've said Tzolis hasn't had a full game yet.

What I liked most about Kabak was his strength and determination to step out with the ball to get us up the pitch. It's a different approach for us. Somewhere between passing around our own box and hoofing. Yes he was partly at fault for the goal but if you only remember that you'd be better off watching a highlights reel 🙃 Normann hade a decent debut and I'm confident will improve. It was a great ball to Pukki for the goal. Yes he didn't track the run that led to the second but the promise outweighs the mistake for me. Sargent I enjoyed, think he will become a fans favourite. Not like Emi or Wes, but in many ways he reminded me of Keith Bertschin from days of old.

How many of you had heard of Teemu or Emi when they signed?

The nation gained a new sporting hero last weekend in young Emma and lost a legend this weekend. RIP Jimmy.

The midfield is the biggest area of concern to me. We have plenty of options in there, but I agree with other comments about us never seeming to win the midfield battle. What concerns me the most is the lack of an outright destructive DM. If you're going to sign a lightweight playmaker such as Gilmour, it's imperative that he has a bodyguard in there to protect him and help him play his game. We were trying to find the right guy for that role right up until the end of the window, and ended up with Normann who doesn't really seem to tick those boxes at all (although it is early days, of course). We have Gilmour, Sorensen, Rupp, McLean, Lees-Melou and Normann to play in the midfield three (or two, if we revert to 4-2-3-1), but none of them are the physical, disciplined defensive screen we needed to replace (and upgrade) Tettey. Gilmour in a midfield two in a 4-2-3-1 wouldn't be likely to work as we'd get overrun, but the 4-3-3 really doesn't seem to be working either. One suspects that if DF felt Sorensen was good enough to start as a DM in the top flight we'd have seen him there already, although maybe he'll get a chance in the coming games as we seek to find a decent balance in the centre of the park.

Yeh, ignore the championship season, that doesn’t matter. Ignore the disrupted pre season and numerous new signings that need time (as well as the opposition that we’ve faced), that’s not at all important. Ignore the fact both Webber in his role 2 years ago and Farkes in his were new to it and learning on the job, and who have admitted the mistakes and already shown improvement (albeit in the championship). Ignore the fact the new signings (that as you say are not suggesting it’ll be any better this time) have played less than a handful of games, and 2 made debuts yesterday. Ignore the fact we still have a club to support because of the owners, and that we have a club to support that will continue to exist and at the top levels of the English league because of them. You can ignore all that, overreact and be inpatient if you want. I don’t consider any of the team, coach’s, staff or owners to be consistently failing.

“Competed equally during the game and punished for one dreadful error” …. Are you sure you were at the game? Farke still has my full support and I love the man but to make the claim above is absurd!

We can do this lads! Our goal this season is to finish 17th. Despite the pointless start, its not like all is lost. Perspective. If we're 3 points from safety with 10 games left then I'd take that at this stage. I think for now thats how we should see things - make sure we dont allow 17th to get out of reach. And currently it isnt. We're only 5 games in, we shouldnt be pantwetting just yet.

I like the way you've tried to pick a physical team and it still doesn't feel all that physical.

You weren't at Carrow Road so didn't see a fanbase give their team the great atmosphere they were asked to provide. You didn't hear them get on their feet to rouse them after a team that hadn't scored in 270 minutes managed to get one after just 20. If those fans then decide to boo after at utterly dreadful second half performance that featured defending that I'd be embarrassed to see from my Under 9s, then who the flying **** is anyone to question their support?

Was going to say, the project has enabled us to spend the most in one window in our entire history, completely redevelop our training complex and create solid foundations for developing young players moving forwards. The fact we've had a crap start to the season doesn't detract from any of that for me.
