He's spot on. The ignorant, moronic, lack or respect Rupp gets on here and social media is shameful. Actually watch the games. Watch him. Farke has laid out why he's picked on a plate now. Even the most ignorant fan can now see exactly why he's picked and what he does.

Ah yes, you're right, I must've imagined us signing 11 first team players this season and committing to ~Ā£70mil in transfer fees, because nothing could document the latest transfer window better than our... ***checks notes***... net spend over the past five years. So bizarre, its like you couldn't actually use the most recent window as a stick to beat the club with so you just moved the goalposts back a bit.

Brilliant rant from Farke in my book and I completely agree with him. Norwich fans have always been so negative, itā€™s the one thing about this club that I would love to change. Why canā€™t we support our players and get behind them rather than be so dismissive and pessimistic all the time? I remember my first season ticket in the City Stand as an 8 year old and getting so frustrated even then with the sheer negativity and dismissive comments of our players that I was hearing coming from those around me, I just couldnā€™t get my head around it. Every club has itā€™s fair share of wallyā€™s in their fanbase but we do seem to have more than anyone else.

A great little article here. Interesting that he could play in multiple positions as a youngster. Clearly this lad is going to have a massive future and another compliment to our scouting network. https://www.the42.ie/andrew-omobamidele-profile-5548706-Sep2021/

in a very real way, we are all a Rupp, and yet - none of us are Rupp Makes you think doesn't it?

Evening Pup's Thanks for your selection's a good variation and it seems most of you think this is the game that will see us gain our first 3 points of the season? With confidence high and a selection of possible goal scores I'm splitting the bet like this please Nutty. Any one of these bets come in and we'll show a profit - Fingers Cross Norwich Win Ā£5 Fun Bets Omobamidele to score at any time Ā£1 Norwich to win from behind Ā£1 Watford to miss a penalty Ā£1 Safety Net - (just look at our record v Watford) Both teams to Score Watford Win Ā£2 Great motivational press conference today by the Boss, I hope all of you who are going to the game listen to DF and can help our boys turn this into a celebration. Again thanks for this opportunity Nutty - lets hope this, and Grahams selections can add some money to the CSF Pot. wishing you all a great weekend and enjoy the match.

Was only two weeks ago you were saying it was a good transfer window "the best I can remember". Doesn't take long to return to type!

I started posting as I thought I would get footballing insights from some of the brightest minds out there and to feel the brotherly love of fellow City fans...after a couple of minutes I realised I was in the wrong place but carried on posting anyway to mostly kill time at work. šŸ¤£ Apples

I think Farke knows what he's doing. He has to consider the morale of the whole group after a hard start. He also has to deal with the possibility of us not winning tomorrow, our fans having a meltdown, and still picking up the team afterwards to go again. He has a hundred odd things to think about and is an intelligent individual. He will know exactly what he's doing. I remember the stick some on here gave him for not starting Emi and Cantwell last season with their heads turned. Again, he played that to perfection and made plenty on here look as daft as I thought..

You're right about not judging it all on 1 game but it's certainly more relevant than any of the games thus far. One thing we really struggled with last time around was the teams around us. For the sanity of some of our fans I think we need a result.

We'll see, but all that praise and calls for support for Hanley, Gibson, Rupp and Pukki could mean they may not be in the starting line-up tomorrow........ I'm now expecting - Krul Aarons Omobamidele Kabak Williams Gilmour Normann McLean Rashica Sargent or Idah Tzolis

I think he was being pretty genuine in trying to light a fire under the fanbase, less so the squad. If it was about the team he wouldn't have spent half of it defending them and he'd have spent more time talking about how the media and other teams' fans were viewing us. What I heard was Norwich fans don't believe they should be in the premier league so they fold as soon as they hit the smallest bump in the road. Seemed to be a bit annoyed at people that enjoy trashing players too, especially considering circumstances of pre season and the teams we've played.

If the pandemic is ā€˜ over ā€˜ what a total waste of time increasing National Insurance by 1.25% which is coincidentally the cost of the booster programme ie Ā£3.6 billion. As an NHS worker involved in the vaccination roll out we are attacked regularly, both verbally and physically by those that say vaccines kill, masks should be banned, the lockdowns were not needed, hospitals are empty, the NHS are lying, the vaccines offer no protection as you can still catch it and pass it on, and of course vaccine passports are taking away freedom. COVID may well in its own right not overwhelm the NHS but COVID combined with other winter problems will overwhelm the NHS. If somebody sitting next to me is fully jabbed and I to am fully jabbed it is 25 times less likely that I would catch COVID. If you are sitting next to somebody unvaccinated it is more likely that they have COVID and if you are not vaccinated highly likely you will catch it. As Wembley for the Euros proved LFT are a complete waste of time.

It's not really on here. Whilst I have my moans about some posters, it's generally fairly balanced. It's the other social media platforms he's likely referring too. Of course, Farke has dealt in facts in all of the above and i'm already seeing some fans getting all butt-hurt about Farke daring to ask fans to support.
  26. 2 points
Really pleased Farke's come out all guns blazing at some of the ridiculous OTT criticism of his team so far, considering the fixtures played. For the most part that's not really been on here, but on social media it's been pathetic in places.

Total b*llocks. Libertarianism is mostly a posh way of justifying an 'I'm all right, Jack' selfishness (as with Boris Johnson), but even when genuine there is nothing in its philosophy that says people have the freedom to knowingly risk passing on a killer disease to others.

The main problem is the kids on Twitter who have turned Rupp into a kind of LR7 meme just because he's unfashionable. Teaches supporters the wrong lesson about why you should back the players who play for your team....because you're a SUPPORTER, not because it's funny to pretend you think someone is good when actually you think they are sh1t For what it is worth I agree with DF. Support your team, back whoever is playing. Lukas Rupp is a very intelligent footballer who constantly works to plug holes left by our more instinctively attacking players and ensuring that we don't get caught out in transition as often. Sure, you can argue that we haven't done well at all so far. But those fixtures have been horrendous. This hilarious 'Arsenal are woeful' gimmick i've seen from a load of our fans is hilarious. They were 2nd in the form table in the second half of last season. Played Chelsea and Man City with loads of first team injuries in their opening four games. They have underperformed, but they are not woeful and will be in the Europa League positions at least. We really expected to go to the Emirates and show Arsenal what's what in a 'relegation six pointer'? Lol. We will be fine, and Lukas will play a role in it. ...so stop crying yer heart out

Thats aged well. I met Leeds Canary well before I had the worst time. I did, as I said, resort to using the report button - but only when things had gone too far for my own sanity.

What is the point of that article? It's not even comparing like for like, we haven't been in the PL every year for 5 years, neither have Villa, Watford, Brentford, Leeds etc. Pointless nonsense. Is the argument that we should have spent more in our promotion seasons, despite getting promoted as champions twice? Or that if we had spent more money this summer we would have beaten Liverpool, Man City, Leicester and Arsenal? Or, perhaps if we'd spent more money, whingebags would not have anything else to whinge about? Whingers gotta whinge, thank the good Lord for their existence and the fact that they post on here and give the reasonable-minded something to shoot down. Thanks DCB, that's me another 10 minutes closer to the weekend.

  36. 2 points
He used our refusal to do that as a means to question the club's ambition. There is an argument in favour of claiming that our approach to player recruitment is, perhaps, amongst the most ambitious of all. There is almost always an eye on the future, as well as the present.

I don't quite get the OP's point. Is he suggesting that the club borrows in order to finance player purchases or does he think it should seek new investment for that purpose? All complaining, nothing concrete by way of solution. He's probably never been in business. I'm one of the few who thinks that the club may have missed a trick by not embarking upon the stadium expansion during the lockout on the basis that all businesses, whilst enjoying success, should expand their infrastructure in order to progress. 'Speculate to accumulate,' as they say. The work needs doing sooner rather than later in any case. A loan, when interest rates are low might well turn out cheaper, or at least not much more expensive, than the cost of the upheaval (and inflation with delay) when the work is eventually undertaken, and it inevitably overlaps into a season. Sell-outs of that extra five thousand seats or more would also be assured, for the foreseeable at least. Anyhow, that's all another matter, but if the club is to be accused of lack of ambition then failing to "strike whilst the iron is hot" with regards expansion is the only valid criticism as I see it. Then again, as with the OP, I'm not in charge of the purse strings or have access to the complete picture.** My thinking therefore perhaps becomes as impractical as the OP's. I can see with my eyes though and cannot fail to have noticed the array of modern, fancy structures that bedeck many football grounds these days, even at some lower league, minnow clubs, and compare these with our own embarrassment of a tiny main stand, with the cathedral in the background being more prominent than the director's box and wonder why that decaying edifice has yet to be nominated as 'a place of historical interest' whilst grounds like White Hart Lane win the 2021 RIBA National Award. ** Webber has previously said that the matter is "always on his desk," so we probably need to accept stagnation for now, although an up-date would be appreciated.

Spot on. Rupp is being scapegoated and is nowhere as bad as some want to make out. He's a good Championship level midfielder, and a squad option for us at this level. I don't see him starting many games from hereon in, but I do see us using him as and when we are defending a lead, and in the event of a couple of injuries.
  39. 2 points
lol, I could do a better job using transfermarkt data and rough wage estimations. None of us know what risks are being taken, and what money is being held in case we need it in January. For starters, Our player wage bill is far greater cost than the signings made - yet it's not even mentioned - Hardly what I'd class as making it clear that we lack desire to put the finances at risk. These were last Nov figures:- It's going to be a while till we get an idea of how well this season was managed, but one things for sure if we uncover a few gems with this seasons signings credit to Webber and his team for bringing in higher value targets at sensible prices. If you're a calculated professional who strives to be best in class, you don't go taking risks to appease forum users.

Oh, youā€™re back quick!! As Lakey says, it wasnā€™t his actions that got Morty banned. And Iā€™m bothered little that he considers being a snakey grass as childish. What is childish is charging round the message board being a **** to people, talking rubbish about them and then playing innocent. Thereā€™s a little clique on here that think theyā€™re untouchable. And Greavsy, old son, posting MASSIVE RESPECT as a reply drawing attention to peopleā€™s mental healthā€¦? I see you little fella. I see you šŸ˜‰
  42. 2 points
I've kept out of this so far, but need to say this. I had email contact with Pete and reported Morty once or twice, not to get him banned but to get him to stop targeting every single thing I wrote, whether it was good or bad. I had to do something as it had got to the point where I couldn't write a single post, however ordinary, without being discredited within minutes by him - sometimes within seconds, making it almost impossible to carry on normal dialogue. It is the nearest thing I have ever had to feeling helpless about something - wanting to contribute to talking about the club I support, but being hounded every time I wrote something - and I am certain that he was trying to get me to stop posting at the time. I could have stopped altogether because it was affecting me mentally, but I thought why should I be the one that has to stop posting just because of one person? I took a lot of flak from various people, but mostly held my own in that regard, but with Morty it got out of hand - and I think he would accept that too. I contacted him on I think two occasions privately to try and make peace, but he didn't want to know at the time - but I hold no grudges against him and didn't want him banned, I just wanted him to moderate his behaviour and basically leave me alone - it had become a real problem to me - but I decided I wasn't going to let him hound me off the board. Ironically it was his spats with other people that got him banned in the end, because as difficult as it was, I had finally started to ignore his posts for quite a while before he fell out with others. A lot is said nowadays about mental health and I think we are all a bit more aware of that, which is a good thing and there is no doubt this board is a better place than it used to be. It was not a period of time I am proud of, as I did my fair share of laying into the one or two people who were trying to control the board - and I wouldn't let it go, but the message about cyber bullying and mental health has got through to a lot more people nowadays and hopefully we can all post on here without problems of that kind. I would also say, if anyone does at any time feel they are being targeted over a period of time, bullied or hounded, then I would say to them, use the report button, or contact admin - that is what they are there for. The idea of it being like "going to teacher" or "grassing up" someone is slightly childish imo. We are all Norwich supporters and we all have something to say and should feel we can say it in whatever way we wish......as long as it isn't abusive, of course.

What good is a point. If we canā€™t pick up 3 points at home to Watford when are we going to get 3 points. What easier games are there. Iā€™d say that itā€™s imperative we get 3 points or we really are looking at another hopeless campaign. if we only get a point at home to Watford that leave 16 more home games. If we won half of those. Which we wont. That would give us 25 points. The last time we were in the Premier league 35 points were needed to survive that means we need 10 points away from home. Where will that come from. Do you see 3 wins and a draw away from home. Or 10 draws or 2 wins and 4 draws you get the gist. The Season canā€™t start next game or next. It has to start Now! Thatā€™s not Cowardice or fatalism itā€™s REALISM!

Given that it's been proven time and again that on field success is directly related to the level of wages paid, I think the Superleague is already in action within the PL. In reality, Man Utd, Man City and Chelsea are now some way ahead of anyone else in terms of the wages they pay. Then come Liverpool, clinging on by their fingertips to those 3, with Spurs and Leicester some way behind. Arsenal have fallen off the pace and are now back in the middle pack with Everton, Wolves, Villa, Leeds and West Ham with Newcastle, Palace, Southampton and Brighton behind them. At the very bottom come Burnley, Brentford, Watford and Norwich, the last 3 replaced by whoever is promoted. All of these figures are in the public domain in the published accounts. The likelihood is that the Champions will be one of City, United or Chelsea every season; and most seasons the relegated teams will be 3 of those bottom 4. Beyond that, there isn't much movement. It's actually pretty similar in every other country - unfortunately England has lost what was once the unique nature of our domestic football, namely the ability to comfortably move up the leagues. The wage gap between the Championship and League One is increasing every year too, making even that transition almost impossible. If a genuine ESL was to take away the top 2 or 3 teams in every country it would allow the rest to go back to having competitive leagues - unfortunately all the TV money would go with them and they would all be running 60 man first team squads. The only real answer is to limit total wageroll, not to a percentage of turnover but to an agreed flat amount per club, and severely punish clubs who cheat, just like rugby has done and Spain are doing. If we could also limit squad and academy numbers that would help maintain a more level playing field.

Purple, I think the key word in your post is knowingly. Even vaccinated folk can pass the virus, that said I'm with you, if someone knew they were carrying it and didn't stay away then there should be retributions, however to the best of my knowledge I don't know anyone who would knowingly pass it on, unlike the old chicken pox parties, etc. showing my age now I guess.
