i'm so bored of this... If you want to support a "club" that is an investment enterprise for the sovereign wealth of fubar middle eastern country - feel free to f**k off. We don't have 100m to invest in one player - f**king get used it.. We can't compete on/off the pitch with Liverpool and Man City - what a surprise. If you can't deal with reality then stick to computer games.

Never saw this one coming, flew under the radar somewhat

Talk Sport = Daily Mail Ignore it. It serves a single purpose. To make money from advertising by making people angry by pedalling deliberately inaccurate nonesense.

Considering we are one of the only self supporting clubs in the higher footballing pyramid, given our two title wins in the last 3 seasons shows we must be doing something right. Don’t talk to us about footballing integrity, we have plenty of it, how about introducing cost caps to level the playing field from spoilt rich owners who are killing football as a competitive sport!

It is to quality journalism/punditry what masturbation is to sex. Sorta related to the matter in hand, yet somehow completely different.

I've said it in other threads, but having signed Sargent for £8m plus, he's not been bought here to warm the bench. He's a younger, hungrier Pukki, and offers aerial threat Pukki doesn't. Don't get me wrong, I'm a Pukki fan and think he must rank as one of the most successful transfers ever, even more so because he was free. What I'd like to see is Sargent starting, with Rash, Tzolis on wings and Cantwell behind him. Let him run riot, and bring on Pukki as a super sub when defensive legs are tiring, and this could suit Pukki down to the ground

Any chance we can create an official “ handbags at dawn” thread, so all the bickering can be done there. I’ve just wasted half an hour trawling through drivel which I’ll never get back. Debate is healthy but in the right place. This thread is about TRANSFER RUMOURS.

Taking a player on loan? For me that goes against sporting integrity.

Why are we mocking one of our own? They do a lot of good work in those podcasts for the profile of the club and charities.

As much as I feel our owners hold us back, he is taking utter, ill informed sh*t. They hold us back because we are the only ones doing it as it should be done in an ideal world so to claim we are the ones not respecting sporting integrity is bizarre to say the least. The problem in the prem is player wages and clubs like Man City and Chelsea, not clubs like Norwich.

Along come Norwich. Hope I am wrong

The way we have been playing last two games as a team would've made Lukaku seem like Drmic, so perhaps a bit hasty judgement. Lets spare that for time when he starts to receive any service.

In all honesty I do think you avoid certain questions when you can’t put a reasonable case forward, have witnessed this several times and having seen others say similar. For instance, what was your idea about putting pressure on the board again because we’d still not signed the midfielder you wanted there and then? How would you have done this to get that signing over the line there and then? Don’t get me wrong, Jimbo, just like yourself, I would have loved to see us get another midfielder in the Tettey or Skipp mould in from day one, so I am totally not disagreeing on that point - I don’t think anyone would. But you don’t seem to be able to grasp how things work, your ideas take out all the complexities and you make it sound like it’s as straightforward as buying a bag of chips. I do get the impression that you don’t particularly care for Webber and what he does here, and that’s really the crux of the matter isn’t it? There’s clear cynicism for anything he says, and if anyone trusts him on his word, then you call them ‘blindly accepting’. Trusting in someone is very different to enforced ‘acceptance’ nor is it blind, if a choice is made after past experiences to trust him to be a man of his word. His brutal deliveries are not for everyone, granted, but personally I like the no nonsense and honest approach we get from him, he’s straight down the line with no b0llox. It’s very refreshing, even if he says things that certain sections don’t always like to hear. So we’re obviously on polar opposites of that because as far as I’m concerned I’m quite happy to give us right to the last minute of the window, just as every other club deserves also before being judged so incessantly. And let’s be real here - a CDM in place for the Liverpool and Man City games was never going to stop them, not in a million years. Watching the games it was clear the bigger issue is that we lacked all round cohesion and team telepathy to play the intricate style of football that we do and make more of a game out of it - in fact it’s no different to 2018 when we were bedding in new players at the start and people were totally kicking off then. We went on to win the league! Not having much pre season for the main group to work together due to Covid has 100% played it’s part there. It’s not a CDM that’s the real issue here at all IMHO, it’s getting the team gelled and settled as quickly as possible, and then you’ll see the real NCFC (if you have the patience 😉).

67 goals in 128 games is a hell of a strike rate to discard after just 2 games against Liverpool and Man City

Will forever be a club icon and legend for us but I do agree that he might need a little rest.. Not looked the same since last time in the Prem when he broke his foot and was rushed back in not fully fit. That was two seasons ago and yet sadly seems he still has not recovered.

Listening to Talksport is as futile as listening to Big Vince. Let's get on with our Mondays, folks... have a good day!

Stopped listening to this nonsense years ago. When listeners are getting lectured on football by Darren Gough it sums up just how bad a radio station it actually is. One of the most pointless stations ever created.

We beat Leicester last time round. There are absolutely no excuses for not having a good go at them.

I'm not accusing you, and I'm not being specific about just this thread. Chris in particular has had some pretty nasty things said about him on here in the past which is unwarranted. And without going into it its typically been the older guys on here. Again, I get hes not to some peoples taste. Because they're not to me. Its just some comments about them are so unnecessary on here.

Jesus Cambridge, who the hell is mocking them??? We are allowed the opinion they're acting pathetically over this 🙄

I do have to fully agree here. Pukki looks a million miles off the pace. You need pace and power in this league and with Cantwell and Pukki we look to light weight. I think we will have a decent attack if Farke stops being loyal to Pukki and get Cantwell off the wing. Cantwell does not have the pace or power to play there, much prefer to see him as the CAM. Tzolis and Rashica either side. Sargent up top. 3 out of the 4 there have genuine pace to burn with Cantwell to pick the passes so do think that could work well.

Asking Botham to negotiate a trade deal is like asking Michael Gove to open the batting for England.

No, not at all. Aarons is a very good player. I just haven't seen much improvement with Aarons in the last 12-18 months. Possibly that's due to the high level he burst on the scene at.

I know it’s not “friendly Friday” (are we doing that?) but if your considered response to a poster replying to you is to tell them to **** off, maybe this isn’t the place for you.

All I have heard is he's quite the ****houser, somewhat like Andrew Robertson is. A walking yellow card, never backs down and loves a good hanbags at dawn. ... Which sounds like what we need to be fair

I’m trying to remember, without checking all the results on google, how many games it took back in the 2018/19 title winning season before we really started gelling and the new and old players all started getting the necessary telepathy together to play the way we do. Because to me that’s *really* what is missing at the moment, that cohesion to play quick one touch football - and not a CDM who would have very likely got sh@t on against Man City anyway. Don’t think it was just 3 games in before so we might still have it a little rough just yet, but personally I’m not worried as am very confident it will come 👍. But yep, Leicester are getting down to the bare bones in that particular area so can’t see it doing us any harm, Flecky! 🙏

Strange response, no-one is saying the don't do good for the club (I've no idea if they do or don't to be fair), but on THIS ISSUE, his reaction is ridiculous.

See he's that irrelevant that I couldn't get his name right 😂

By getting to half time, it would have given Daniel a chance to speak to himself and Lukas beforehand and explain his decision, rather than just hook him and Rupp off the pitch without warning. Think that was the smart thing to do and handled well to be honest.

I know people are jumping off the deep end with how we're doomed again but I wanted to point out that in each of Farke's four seasons we've had a slightly ropey start. Two of those we went on to win the league! Season one we won one in the first five. Season two, the same, one win in five. Season three, two wins in five. Season four, two wins in five. Give the players and manager time and judge the season in April/May. Nothing is won or lost in August. Long way to go.

The case rates are worryingly high for the "summer" period and the number of infections will undoubtedly rise considerabley as we move into Autumn/Winter. We are relying very heavily on the efficacy of the vaccine program to prevent serious ill health, as long as it continues to do that then I'm not too concerned. It's a shame that virus transmission isn't reduced as hoped by having the vaccine. Israel is demonstrating that the vaccines can show reduced effectiveness and if we move into a similar situation then it will be a hard winter. Hopefully the third dose will help.

They are literally instructed to air controversial statements/views (even if they actually themselves believe the complete opposite) in order to get attention, calls into the show, and space on social media. All of which ultimately brings in finance. Just ignore.

Pretty much the whole model relies on this kind of transfer. Hate to break it to some of you, but Tzolis and Rashica didn't grow up dreaming of Carrow Road. We got 3 (?) years out of Emi, witnessed some fantastic moments, and turned a huge profit. Hopefully, that profit helps us to the next level..
  39. 2 points
You say some of the right things but kinda miss the point. We needed to upgrade on players across the pitch as some signings have got to a point where they aren’t keeping up with the general level of the squad (Stiepermann, Placheta being replaced with Lees-Mous and Tzolis for example). the simple fact is Buendia WANTED to go, so it didn’t really matter what Webber wanted. Instead he got a decent amount of money as early in the window as possible so we could get our own business done and although we still need to replace Skipp I think we’ve signed some decent talent at decent prices with the raised funds.
  40. 2 points
Two seasons ago they may have at least had a point although it would still have been stupid. If other teams in the championship want to better us all they need to do is get promoted instead of us, right?
  41. 2 points
Emi would have made no difference to the results of the opening 2 games had he stayed.
  42. 2 points
... and a few years before that, it was Middlesborough, Portsmouth and Sunderland. Oh and lets not forget about Hull, Wigan, QPR, Blackburn, Huddersfield, Reading, Blackpool and Bolton!

When the premier league money bubble pops. We may be one of the only clubs left. We've already seen the collapse of the Italian top tier. Spanish league is currently struggling too where massive clubs like Barcelona are having to "off load" to survive. We'll soon see teams like Reading signing Barcelona "stars".

Come on Purple, when you've been in business as long as we have, there are enough "leaders" out there that interchange revenue for profits to suit their agenda.

Again, its totally irrelevant where anybody grew up to the wider point. The fact is, refusing to sell their best player did not put off potential new signings from joining. I'm not comparing keeping Zaha to keeping Emi- I just think the idea that if we refused to sell Emi it would have put off potential targets doesn't stack up with reality. By your logic if we refused to sell Cantwell then new targets wouldn't care as he's local? That doesn't make a lick of sense.
  48. 1 point
Probably. This discussion has been done to death but Palace not letting Zaha go despite transfer requests didn't seem to put Eze or Olise or similar signing for them. So I can't see why it would destroy our chances of signing anyone.
