Well I disagree with the majority here. I think this kit is a great effort and something a little bit different. Lets face it, most of you already disliked it before it was released.

Just seen this, SJS. I don’t blame Celtic for trying to get as much as they can for him, but there has to be a sense of realism given his contractual situation. I mean £20mil squid - on what planet? 😂. I’ll p155 myself if they price themselves out so much that they lose him for absolutely nothing in a few short months on a pre contract agreement. Just goes to show by Brentford’s offer that even the reported £12mil fee they were asking for plus the expected add ons wasn’t even enough. Leave him there and let someone else sign him up in January, I’m sure we have plenty of irons in the fire 👍

A sober piece in the Financial Times today. * Brexit has not enabled the UK to gain control over its economic choices because it has to persuade other countries. Crucially, the UK no longer has a platform inside the EU to be influential. It has lost a lot of international respect * It asks whether citizens have taken back control over their lives and concludes that for businesses trading with the EU or for people wanting to work and study there...a great deal of control has been lost. * It states that public unhappiness was manipulated into a kind of hostility towards the EU. We can see that in the right wing tabloid press even today and folk buy into these messages. The EU too was mostly innocent of what some Brexit supporters disliked most, migration. * Ironically, inflows of migrants from the rest of the world have now jumped (generally we have seen a big rise in net migration) as those from EU states have considerably declined. Has this been an unintended outcome therefore? The overall judgement over the medium and long term is that Brexit constitutes a considerable loss to the UK and in the immediate context it is considered a rather sad Pyrrhic victory.

Only a handful of senior players in it, Branston - Rupp, Todd, Andy O, Angus, Giannoulis - but here you go 👍 https://youtu.be/DZyLu1vyEoE

If there is one Norwich City manager who has had to prove himself then Daniel Farke is not one of them for me. He has nothing to prove. He has brought a great football style and philosophy these last 3 years and even Webber stated that he had been thrown into a battle with no weapons last time. It feels clear that DF wants to prove something for himself however and this bloke is one hell of a competitor. It augurs well for the season ahead. Let's enjoy him and his teams. The PL is such a small market manager wise. Also you need to remember that DF is very professional and we don't hear stories about who he may have been linked with, only the faintest of stories perhaps a year later.

I like it. And let's be honest, @cambridgeshire canary had his reaction pre-written before he even saw the kit given his oft-mentioned bizarre hatred of Joma. Running a kids football team, I've seen plenty of different brands for football kit and Joma is always up there. To be honest, I'd say it's second only to Hummel in the feel of the quality. Nike, Adidas, Puma and the big brands are all awful. Errea is ok but often has loose threads coming out of the seams and that sort of thing. I don't love it, and it doesn't beat that fake photoshop one that did the rounds the other week, but I like it. And kits tend to grow on me in that one's I initially hate when I see them I end up liking. So only liking it at this stage probably means I will grow to love it.

Oh dear god, that looks like one of those cheap kits you buy at the market, where the badge is screen printed! It’s horrendous!

You know, I actually prefer it if the racists don't watch and enjoy the success. It sure beats the alternative which is to embolden their sense of extreme nationalism.

I find the best thing to do when the forum plays up like this is to open it up in two windows. Then when you think you've posted on one of them you can check whether it turns up in the other. You will still need to refresh both to be sure.

I'd say that means yes then. So you and Browno both beat him, he just doesnt like to admit it.

I echo everything you've said, he's a brilliant manager or head coach. He can do no wrong in my eyes, we should enjoy him while he's with us. I've been going since 1981 & I've never seen such beautiful football played at Carrow Rd on a consistent basis.

Yep, cheers Cambridge - but not sure how people are managing to like or react to others posts, have given up trying now!

Admittedly the Lotus and JD logos are rather boring daubs, but that's not the clubs fault. Having said that, how much nicer to have the Lotus logo than a betting company.

I found this analysis to be interesting as he models various scenarios (forecasts about 12,000 in hospital at peak) but he offers of qualifications too. He is watching closely for trends over the next few days. A thread of about 14/15 points if you read through. John Burns Murdoch retweeted this as a recommended read. https://twitter.com/JamesWard73/status/1412182736572399623?s=19 (No idea why this site is acting up again today...so adding link again!)

Finally, someone is saying what we're all thinking. Did you get your GB News slot sorted? I heard they're short after the founder did a runner.
  19. 1 point
No, not really. We get relegated this season however and I do feel he will be off. This is his last big chance with us to prove himself. We have spent money, brought in players and it's fair to say the squad is now 'his' and plays with his style.

They also sing the national Anthem - is that virtue signalling too? I buy and wear a poppy near Remembrance Day - virtue signalling? Bow my head in prayer - virtue signalling? Give up my seat to old people on the bus - virtue signalling? What a horrible world you inhabit! 🥴

Agree, nothing but over-privileged Marxist man babies. Particularly, when our impoverished PM doesn't know who is going to pay for his next Caribbean holiday and interior decoration or a £200 million yacht no one wants. Boo their virtue signalling, boo the Eyetie's national anthem, deport their immigrant grand parents and stand up for British decency.

Don't like the arms, the black lotus logo (should be the green and yellow one) or the shade of green. Do like the shade of yellow, how wound up Cambridge is, and the recycled plastic element. Will I be buying one? Probably not

Pretty much my thought - not mad on the collarbone bit but the rest is fine and I like the ‘weave’ pattern, you could clearly see the fabric had that from the taster vid. Fact is, some people were going to dislike it regardless, just because, so their views can be largely ignored.
  25. 1 point
Pretty good effort, all in all. Probably better without the green on the collarbone area, but it's better than our recent Premier League kit efforts.

Not sure, looks cheap though. Surprised how well it's gone down on the FB page though.

Oh thank god I'm not alone. How we have gone from last years kt, one of the best home kits in a deacade to this monstrosity is beyond me

Perhaps you would like to provide us with a list of those egregious acts footballers are allowed to protest against, and those for which their freedom of speech should be taken away. Clearly you believe that the hideous racist abuse suffered by their fellow players of colour is not something for which they should be allowed to exercise their normal democratic rights to protest against, so I assume you must have some criteria that explains why. While you're at it, perhaps you can also explain in what sense these footballers are "privileged" as opposed to being incredibly talented athletes who have earned their position in the team on individual merit. Let's not stop there. Do feel free to explain how it is insulting to English "society" for members of the England football team to demonstrate to the fans of other countries that they expect all the players of the England football team to be treated with equal respect irrespective of their ethnicity or colour. Finally, do feel to explain what is supposed to be the relevance of the facts that they don't take the knee in Kenya, or Zimbabwe, or India, or Russia. I'm sure you have some evidence to show that what you yourself describe as the, " Hatred against fellow countrymen of different ethnicities [that] runs deep there" should be our guiding principle in stopping the practice of taking the knee to protest against such hatred. I wouldn't want people to think that you are just spouting bone-headed irrelevant "whataboutery".

Remember so much Banter aimed at him in the derbies in the 70's. And he usually returned it with extras! That horrible 5-0 loss at Poorman Road comes to mind, he destroyed us! And all we had in return is a 40 minute rendition of "Mariner's a ****!" ad infinitum. RIP Paul.

I, for one, can't stand those over-privileged Marxist babies giving money to the NHS. It's a disgrace. They should let the Conservative government starve it of funding like real patriots.

I've told you before Tilly, your facts and ability to research accurate information and talk sense (most of the time) only baffle folks around these parts. How on earth are folks meant to run around as if their hair is on fire when you cut through the chaos like that? 😂😂😂

December 2020 - "Very please and Proud" July 2021 - Which idiot negotiated this deal? Lord Frost. The only way he'll be able to redeem himself is if he becomes the next Dr Who then he can go back in time and do the job properly.

And Davitt again today, in his considered overview of where the club is at in terms of transfers: ‘But with those fresh fitness concerns [about Pukki], allied to the gruelling workload he has carried in recent seasons, Farke will know he needs alternatives to ease the pressure and cope with any absences to the main man. Adam Idah is expected to step up and start to justify the faith Farke has in the Republic of Ireland international. But there is also the possibility of enticing fresh firepower in what remains of this transfer window.’ That said, I take the points Bethnal has made about finance in particular, and how it seems hard to bankroll big-money transfers for the key targets of a CDM and a central defender, and also then a central striker. The trouble is there are so many imponderables. Was the kitty (post Gibson and Giannoulis and pre-Buendia sale) the EDP’s £15m or Bailey’s £20m-£30m? How much of the Buendia money do we get to spend? Could we get one of these targets on loan and so afford all three. And what if we sell Aarons? Does that make big-money transfer moves for all three financially feasible? The other question is whether we have enough cover in Idah and Rashica anyway. That certainly seemed to be the steer Davitt and Freezer were getting, until recently. But there has been a bit of a shift there. Both in terms of how much (or how much longer) Pukki can be relied upon and the linked question of how adequate might the replacements be. I don’t take Hugill’s possible departure very seriously either way (apart from it freeing up a wage). He never seemed to be included in the list of stand-ins or replacements for Pukki. But Idah and Rashica (the latter not mentioned by Davitt there) were definitely name-checked, and in a positive way. For Idah it would be a significant step up from OK Championship striker to the same level or better in the Premier League. What if that faith from Farke that Davitt mentions is misplaced? As to Rashica, I take Bethnal’s point that he has played as a central striker, albeit one who moves wide a great deal, but there is a big difference between that in a frontline of one or two others, and the extremely demanding multi-task role of a lone central striker that Pukki has fulfilled. I don’t know, but my suspicion is that Rashica would struggle with that in the Premier League. Of course, we could alter the system, not least, for example, if we signed Billing and used him as an advanced midfielder providing a central goal threat, with Rashica and Cantwell or Dowell or whoever flitting around. But if our default system is the one we have been using then the cover for Pukki looks problematic. Of course it will all come down to money. But one possible scenario, if Webber and Farke are starting to think they need better Pukki cover, that would potentially provide better balance to the squad and be affordable, would be to sell Aarons, find a reasonably cheap replacement, and use at least some of what is left over on a striker for the longer term.

BBC obviously with the added bonus that you can have the 5Live commentary via the red button. There is a very good game if Roy Keane is on. He regularly starts a sentence with the word "listen" as if he's going to say something profound. It amuses me to turn the sound off at that point and take a few seconds to wonder why someone who nearly destroyed Sunderland and Ipswich is considered to be an expert.

Privileged athletes taking a knee is empty virtue signalling. It's also insulting to the society that welcomed in millions of migrants from Africa, Asia, eastern Europe and the Caribbean. Do they take a knee in Kenya or Zimbabwe? Hatred against fellow countrymen of different ethnicities runs deep there. How about in India? Or Russia? That would take real balls. Doing it in safe Western arenas isn't brave.
