I thought David Webb had a very good game in charge today. He kept the game flowing as much as possible and didn't see the need to wave cards around. Barely noticed him there for much of the time which in my book is a sign of a good official.

Why the hell are people surprised Rupp is playing well? Before he was injured his midfield displays were fantastic. He was unfairly attacked at the end of last season by the pinkun morons. Quality player.

Well the triple lock can go. Tax from big tech will need to be properly enforced. Reverse brexit. Offshore tax avoidance will need to be stopped. Re-evaluation of the council tax codes. Excessive pay for heads of companies needs to be looked at with progressive tax hikes. And if people don't want to pay a decent livable wage then how about looking at things like proper rent control or affordable public transport. More progressive ways of making people's lives a bit easier rather than simply stagnating workers wages like the last ten years of austerity have done.

In case you had not realised we are in the middle of a pandemic and such gatherings are forbidden in an effort to curb further infections and deaths.

If you combine current and young Pukki you get iron fist (or more like iron foot!)

I also put the S*um in, expecting a new manager bounce... 1-0 down after 6 minutes 😂

What does this even mean? The only thing Delia ACTUALLY SAID was that she was sure that Aarons would go on to bigger and better things 'at some point'. That maybe this summer - it may not.

Any team playing Swansea will have to aim to be 2 goals ahead by the 90th to get a win.
  14. 2 points
Absolutely this. Not just in the middle of the park, but the way the wide roles have developed and the cover provided by the CDMs. I don't think it's just personnel (although I think Skipp is a massive improvement over previous incumbents), but also a significant tactical shift as well as a general improvement in discipline and positioning. But let's also not underplay the improvement from Hanley, having finally had a decent run of fitness, and the way in which Gibson has fitted into our system so well.

Do we care? If Swansea and Barnsley came up with us, I’d be much happier than say Watford and Brentford. Two of the three relegated teams right there, we want the weaker teams coming up.
  17. 2 points
Oh, and I almost forgot. New list of teams who can no longer mathematically finish above us: Wycombe, Sheffield Wednesday, Rotherham, Birmingham, Coventry, Derby, Huddersfield, Forest.

Have the fans considered that the manager isn't the problem? Bold i know, but they may just actually be sh!t.

I think some are underestimating Rupp a bit. He's an energetic presence in the middle of the park, good at accelerating away from a press, defensively diligent when not in possession and likes to keep play moving when he is. Against a very solid, hardworking side like Luton it makes sense that you've got a fairly aggressive ball-retriever in the number 10 role who can move at pace. Vrancic isn't that player. Vrancic is better in the deep, and against this sort of team, he's far better off in there. Can't break McLean and Skipp up at the moment though, they're playing too well together.

Exactly the same people, every bloody time: We shouldn't have an elected head of state because it will be too costly etc.etc.etc. We need to leave the EU because we can't elect the head of state, it's too undemocratic etc.etc.etc. Do any of you have firm beliefs or do you just make them up to suit whatever argument you're having at the time?? 🤨🤨🤨
  26. 2 points
This is commonly wheeled out but actually holds little relevance. I would wager it would generate a whole heap more if Buckingham Palace etc were open to tourists everyday. Costs also need to be added for security for the "royal" family, etc - the actual estimated cost of the parasites is around £340 million per year. Nobody visits Versailles given the French don't have a monarchy? (Hint - 10 million tourists per year pay 20 Euros each minimum. That's a minimum of 200 million Euros (probably closer to 600million + with higher price tickets for fountains etc retail, food etc), and I would imagine Buckingham Palace would generate more interest than Versailles). It's an argument that sounds great on the surface but actually doesn't really stand up very well. In fact, it's fair to say if the monarchy didn't exist, they would generate far more revenue. The fact their finances are shrouded in a veil of legal secrecy should tell you all you need to know about the "net contributors" argument. It's nonsense.

Hi CK, I'm an NHS responder and we have had an email saying they expect to ramp up the vaccine effort from the 15th March. Hopefully that is true as we will surely have to be doing a lot of 2nd dose jabs soon.

He does do lots of accies yes but no big wins. Yet its not an addiction but his way of shooting for the stars. You're right about it being potentially life changing as he works in one of those large 'value' hotel chains, loads of hours and barely above minimum wage!

well....maybe some perspective here....with a friend of my son who had a ridiculous 18 team accumulator today and 17 came in with Millwall losing at home to ruin it! (and that was a risky bet to make wasn't it knowing how unpredictable Blackburn are). His win would have been £30,000! Good luck with the £2.29 anyway

It may be related to the temporary appeal panel, with the rationale being that high value players would meet the appeal criteria? I believe we had to use various expert views, including the current USA coach, in arguing for Soto's to go through. You can imagine a high transfer fee and wages adding to the body of evidence, but that panel was only for the window just gone.

Have to say Nutty I was very nervous and feeling some pressure but those two early goals haven't half helped. Then, they have both their top scorers playing and Jay has scored one of them. The 5-0 start of the day was a great start too.

The HT/FT – Norwich/Norwich on bet365 is also covered by "bore draw" so if it's 0:0 the stake gets refunded. Unsure if that happens on bill hill.

Vrancic has neither the speed or stamina to play Sat / Wed / Sat / Wed. I thought he looked knackered after ten minutes against Brentford. Better to bring him on after 60 minutes when the opposition are tiring. He is clearly not an ‘80minutes’ player. His shooting has been woeful, but some of his passing has been exquisite. His minutes just need managing.

Give Onel another run out. He needs it and we need him back to his best. Then again, I'm one of those in the 'Vrancic for supersub' camp.

The cost-benefit analysis of the Royal family's contribution to the economy is really a complete distraction from the fundamental issue regarding its constitutional role in providing the head of state through the mechanism of inheritance. It is clearly an absurdity and a contradiction that a mature democracy has an unelected monarch as head of state and not an elected representative. At this current time I think there are more important issues to concern ourselves with, given the Monarchy's recognition that it shouldn't interfere in political decision making (although Johnson seems to have been determined to draw them into constitutional difficulties for God knows what reason). However, the trajectory of the Monarchy is surely toward one very obvious direction and the whole Harry and Megan affair is just another signpost as to where that leads. At some point we will become citizens of the UK and not subjects of his/her Majesty. Personally I would prioritise reform of the House of Lords well before reform of the Monarchy. The former has a far more corrupting influence on our politics and society than the latter. However, both these unelected bastions of class privilege and inheritance need to disappear before we can truly proclaim ourselves to be a grown-up democracy.

If he's fit enough then he starts for me, in place of Onel. I imagine though it's more likely we'll see him from the bench. I don't want to sound like a broken record because I've said it a few times in recent weeks, but I think Mario is quietly doing a really good job for the team. He will need to be upgraded if/when we go up, but at the moment I don't see any reason to mess with the status quo. Onel has done fine in the two games he's played. If he had more of a run he might build on those performances. But Todd was fantastic in the few games before he got injured, and that pre-injury form earns him a place ahead of Hernandez if he's fit enough.

Sarah beginning to get awards for her astonishing work, well done Sarah. Prof Gilbert was speaking after receiving the Royal Society for Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (RSA) Albert Medal. She said it was a "great honour". Previous winners include Winston Churchill, Marie Curie, Alexander Graham Bell, Stephen Hawking and Tim Berners-Lee.

Cracking video that, shows what he can add on his comeback - and certainly what we've missed from a number 10 at times this season. Weighed in with some very crucial goals and assists last time, and his passing, especially through balls to Pukki are sublime. Looking forward to him coming back into contention

"Britain’s Covid-19 vaccines may stop people passing on the virus“almost completely”, the head of immunisation at Public Health England has revealed. Dr Mary Ramsay said grounds for hope that vaccination may achieve the holy grail of halting community transmission were emerging from new studies. “What we don’t yet know is how long that might last and whether or not that will be enough to stop the infection spreading more widely in the population over time,” she told Radio 4’s Today on Tuesday “But there’s really very good signs that this is going to at least reduce infection rates across the population, and hopefully ... prevent people passing it on almost completely if they’ve been vaccinated fully.”
