5 pointsHonestly, what is it with people imposing labels on one another? Brexiteer, remainer, boomer, millenial, snowflake, leftie, rightie etc etc. If people stopped seeing each other for what's different and trying to put them down for that with stupid nicknames and tried to actually get on with each other, the world would be a much better place.

4 pointsI''m so confused .... I just don't know who's judgement to trust? Hardhouse44 or AC Milan? Hardhouse44 or AC Milan? I'm torn. Torn I tell you! Hardhouse44 or AC Milan? God it's such a difficult decision!!

3 pointsSelling Godfrey for a decent whack will be the best bit of business we ever do. So overrated its unreal. Hope heβs one we out instead of some of the others. positonally poor, actually quite lightweight I donβt believe heβll ever make the grade.

3 pointsRecord shop blindness I used to call it. Walk in and my mind would immediately go blank. Although those who know me might say thatβs not just in record shops these days.
-
2 pointsI'm starting to do that too. It's much easier to be consistently nice than getting ever more antagonistic and embattled.
-
2 pointsBolton vs Harrogate gonna be interesting. Still seems crazy they will be in the same leauge, shows what bad management can do to a club. Two promotions in a row, not bad at all. Heres hoping Kings lynn will be the next team to follow them to league two
-
2 pointsNo real hunch whoβd not be sold. Could just be a case of whichever player gets a buyer first. Absolutely no chance of a loan back.
-
2 pointsI also think that Godfrey is over rated, and ideally we'll be signing a defender who is strong in the air. People seem to rate him as the new Rio, looks more like the new Anton. Getting Β£20m+ for this player would be fantastic business.
-
2 pointsHappy to be proven wrong....but I'll eat my hat were he to become the new Franco Baresi...
-
2 pointsTangential topic. but I'd be wondering if Farke's thinking Famewo can make the leap and is going to give him a chance in pre-season. Agree that Godfrey's suffered from not having a settled partner alongside him, but also suffered from the defensive midfield not being up to it either.

2 pointsUtterly wrong assessment of Godfrey, Heβs strong, confident on the ball, has pace and will be a superb CB, if only he had a decent CB alongside him. Zimbo has been our best of a questionable set of partners, Klose injured or always coming back from injury, same with Hanley, Tettey or Amadou standing in, its little wonder heβs been in a back four which has conceded so many when thereβs been so many changes all the time. Iβd say heβs key player to keep and shed Hanley and Klose and get a decent young CB whoβs not injury prone to build on next year. Weβve ready made replacements for Aaronβs and Lewis, much rather cash in on them Hanley and Klose and buy a couple better CB.

2 pointsHow many times does a good topic end with in-house arguments? Most of us have the club at heart. I just wish some people would just refrain from a derogatory reply just because a poster they disliked commented.
-
2 pointsSorry but there must have been two Surmans as the one I saw did a decent job for us, he played a lot in our promotion season didnβt he ?
-
2 pointsI've got two Nils Frahm albums on my shelf. Same album bought from the same shop a few months apart.π³ The worst one was hearing something on 6 and thinking "what is this dreadful music?" ,or words to that effect, and quickly finding out it was something I had just bought. π

2 pointsCome on guys, we've done the RvW situation to death. Whatever your views on him as a player here, it's great to see he's made a full recovery from such a dangerous problem and I wish him nothing but the best going forwards.

1 pointI know, itβs tiresome. I think you have to learn to skip past it and try and tune it out. The only alternative is either block those who are p*ssing you off, which makes the thread disjointed, or give up on the forum completely. I donβt think those who feel unable to avoid sniping at each other will ever stop.
-
1 pointHad a good long read through this thread. The main question that springs to mind is: Have some of you actually heard yourselves? Jesus. No wonder this forum is becoming a medium for people to just abuse each other.
-
1 pointI donβt understand some opinions on here, so we think 25 million is good value and should sell a 22 year old whoβs caught the eye of top flight teams across Europe, but we can then use some of that money to buy a far better CB for a fraction of the price! I can see who the FM users are! The real world works different to FM20. Iβm a little confused, so should we use 5 million to buy Rob Dickie from Oxford, at 24 and never played higher than league 1 must be a step up on the overrated Godfrey? Canβt wait for all the same posters to start moaning if we kick off the season with Hanley / Klose combo conceding shedload of goals!
-
1 pointYou're convinced he will go - assuming not to another championship team? So naturally you're saying you're convinced he will go to a bigger club in a higher league but he's not good? I wonder what all these well paid professional scouts are doing recommending him to their clubs (allegedly) then.

1 pointYeah, got the notice of termination and got dumped on the same day- felt I deserved a pizza and a beer π€£ Just another nasty side-effect of this pandemic and I consider myself very lucky to have found something suitable so quickly, as there are a great many left less fortunate at the moment. At the same time as well, I've met several people I haven't seen since before quarantine that seem to have found that weight I lost and then some! So like you I'm grateful to myself for my past decisions that have undoubtedly led to a much better, healthier place.

1 pointHe's 22 and played about 70 top class games. He's nowhere near the finished article clearly but to write him off as overrated is a bit premature.
-
1 pointBrilliant to hear that you're still going strong π π Unfortunate about the job but glad you have it under control.
-
1 pointCurrently, under FIFA and FA transfer rules, if a club wants to procure the services of a player registered with another club, they must speak directly with that club and not to the player or his representatives. The player and his representatives will only be brought in for discussions with the potential purchasing club once the two clubs have agreed a fee.

1 pointDon't forget that players coming in will be replacing others and our saleable players are going to be on good salaries. The only additional amount to be found is the difference between incoming and outgoing players

1 pointThanks everyone! Day 2 today, managed 18.8 miles but it was a LOT harder. Had a bit of a headwind on the outward leg, and honestly felt like stopping before the halfway mark. Managed to keep myself going, though, and got a second wind around the 10-mile mark. Popped into Evans Cycles in the city afterwards to get some chamois cream, and the manager there (Rob) recognised me from this forum and offered me a free bike check/service during the ride. Rob said that he 'lurks' rather than posts on here, but if you're reading this, buddy, thanks a million! Remember to follow me on Instagram at instagram.com/matcolo1980, and please share my fundraising page with your friends: tiny.cc/colo500. CURRENT TOTAL: Β£1,475

1 pointReally glad to hear you've set-in your progress mate. They say it's 30% exercise, 70% diet but you can't start without 100% mentality in the first place. I've continued to stall around the 14.5 mark but if I'm honest my commitment hasn't been anywhere near as strong the past month as I was let go and lost furlough. Priorities had to change a bit! Now that's sorted out, and I started & scored in a friendly yesterday (feeling it today though). Plan to knuckle down and get that 14st now before joining and gym and finally doing some building work instead of demo.

1 point' That our rate will be lower than ALL the EU countries that I listed ' So the UKs percentage of change will be lower than all of those (as listed above) for the 2nd quarter of 2020
-
1 pointThere are lots of interesting players there. If you're looking at realistic targets, I wouldn't be surprised to see us target someone like Knoche given the tendency to use the German market. I wouldn't be disappointed to see us take a punt on Baston as a value-for-money backup/alternative to Pukki.

1 pointThere was rumours on Twitter mate. Said we were in talks. No idea if true

1 pointMore brexit stupidity No doubt it has escaped what limited thought the average brexiteer has, but the Eurotunnel is a joint venture between the UK and France. Therefore there has to be joint agreement on it's running. Which means an agreed method for resolving any disagreements, Up to now it has had such a method, It works, keeps the tunnel running smoothly and without disruption Sadly that is now threatened by brexiteer stupidity "βIt would mean train drivers would have to have two sets of qualifications to drive on the British and French side of the tunnel. It would affect how you operate the tunnel with potential for divergence in the future on everything from signalling, voltage, the radio systems, the signalling system, ventilation, hydraulics. It would be like driving on the left- and right-hand side of the road at the same time,β said a source." https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2020/jul/30/brexit-european-court-row-puts-eurotunnel-operations-at-risk

1 pointThere are tourists here now, can you reschedule? Failing that, Iceland will still be here next year π

1 pointThanks for these recommendations Nuff Said. I have just listened to The Mage and it's got a nice soul to it. Working through your others. I've included a few tracks below from my small collection jazz-wise. Yousef Lateef....just sweet! 1962. Very accessible even for jazz doubters. Michel Herr 1978 with Bill Frisell (Do check out "Sans Blues Thank You" on the same album...I couldn't find it as a link tonight) Oliver Nelson (may have posted before but so good it's worth a second one) ...1961
-
1 pointPleased for him. I know a lot on here never rated him,but I feel he was simply unlucky here. May be not a premier league level striker but was never going to stand a chance under Hughtons tactics. Glad he's recovered and is kicking on.
-
1 pointWho remembers the era when we had nobody to cash in, just a team of journeymen and loanees? From the dark days of Doomcaster through to now, yes, last season was disappointing, but wow look how far we've come in terms of assets and growth.
