8 pointsIf we didn’t sign youngsters, you’d be saying the players we were buying were too old. If we paid a lot of money for a player, you’d be saying we’ve wasted cash and overpaid. If we hadn’t brought anyone in yet, you’d be saying we were too slow. If you had half a pint you’d be saying your glass was half empty and you didn’t want beer anyway.

5 pointsCheck the Wiki page! 😂 On 30 July 2020, Dowell joined Championship big boys Norwich City on a three-year deal. Maddison v2 said he is "ready to score 70 yarders for fun" on his first day with the club and reportedly nutmegged everyone he walked past whilst being given a tour of the facilities including Head Coach Daniel Farke and Sporting Director, Stuart Webber. Alex Tettey recalls a time where he was making cups of tea for the entire squad and when he would pour the milk in, Dowell would hit volleys low and hard just above the mug and let the air of the ball mix the milk and tea together. {[29]

5 pointsVrancic was instrumental in our promotion last season. He didn't quite step up to the prem (although he was arguably not given a fair crack) but he is great at Championship level. I'd be disappointed if he went.

4 pointsNever seen this particular shot of Carrow Road before. It is 1955 apparently.

4 pointsI expect Webber knows we have a far shorter break than usual, and so we need to get the players bedded in as early as possible. This doesn't smack of assembling a squad to male a challenge for promotion only, but one with an eye to the future well beyond that And for my part I am far more looking forward to next season in the Championship, than ever I would be running up a huge debt trying to cling on to a PL place. As what we are seeing is the reality of what the club said their aim was, over the long term. Yes, we will lose some of the promising youngsters, but good luck to them. Most of those coming in are in the same position - stepping up to further their development. And it we can turn relative unknowns like the four youth players and Buendia and Onel into what they are now, then there is a fair certainty that we can do the same again, And great to be part of a club who once again are building for the future, not spending their time trying to cover their huge debts run up chasing a false dream.

4 pointsThis is the knock on effect of having such a good PROJECT in place - encouraging youth and giving them a pathway to the first team. Yes the PROJECT. As much as we had a pretty good reputation as a club anyway, it wasn't until Farke and Webber arrived with the new PROJECT that Maddison was given the path to the first team - and the others that followed on pretty quick. The more we are seen as a club that gives youth their chance to shine, the more likely we are to attract the better young prospects as the word gets round about our set up, especially with players like Maddison, who can pass on their views about us to other players. The PROJECT in action and in full effect, ongoing, developmental and totally seen in action today with the arrival of Dowell. Oh, did I mention we have a PROJECT in place?? Just wanted to be clear about it, so as there is no doubt 😛

3 points£15m no way. Ben Gibson cost £15m. £25m would be a minimum for Godfrey.

3 pointsThe sun is still out. I've got news for you Vinny and you other miserabilists - the sun is still shining. New exciting young players coming in - the latest one stating what a brilliant club this is to come to - and things to look forward to. A new challenge, a further development and improvement of what we are trying to do as a club on and off the field and if we get up again to the PL then we will be better equipped to stay there. I know I might as well be talking to a brick wall than trying to get through to the likes of you, Vinny, but your "I told you so" is about as limp as it can get. 🌞

3 pointsI promised myself 3 weeks ago I’d stop posting on here, and you’ll be delighted to know this is my last post. Norwich City supporters? Josip came into a side that weren’t delivering the attacking football that we’d been accustomed to even as recently as earlier in the same season. We could’ve put Marco Van Basten up top for us in those last lockdown games & he’d have been lucky to score. Wake up, that’s the reality, he’s had nothing to work with whatsoever! And you’re delighting in making him feel as crap as possible! Love Norwich City but **** me do we have some right Worzel Gummidge bellends following us. I’m not buying every club has their fair share of such ‘supporter’. We are without doubt the complete Man City of entitled supporter knobheads. I watched every last game and thought Josip was on a hiding to nothing. Every striker needs chances. Especially one who’s hardly played. It’s **** and it’s no surprise given the vitriol aimed at him that he’s considering moving back to Europe so don’t be **** and knocking him for it, I don’t blame him.

2 pointsThere's a lesson for you. Never get in the way of a cycling bee, especially not one with a season ticket. Took the bike out for a test spin tonight... just a gentle 8.5 miles. It's riding well enough, but I think the sore bum is going to be the biggest problem! Also, any tips for how to make your helmet fit more comfortably? Don't really have the money for a new one, so any advice would be gratefully received. Finally, I made it onto the EDP website today, with something to come in the print edition too I hope!

2 pointsSpent his last 6 months here taking random pot shots from impossible angles. It was was of the strangest things I've ever seen, and poor Farke had no choice but to play him because we didn't have anybody else. Didn't care about the team, would be happy to have 10 shots in a game even if 5 of them would have been better as a lay off to a teammate, just in persuit of an impressive goal of the month contender. We need players that can play as part of a team, Nelson plays for Nelson. I get angry when people suggest we in any way miss that idiot. Yes he has got talent, shame he was wasted it messing around in the second tier of English football or in a weak second rate league like Greece, but that's what happens if you don't have the attitude and application to match.

2 pointsFirst time I went into a pub over here I thought a fella was trying to sell me a pig fence, he kept saying ' swine meshin, swine meshin ' I kept repeating that I had no pigs and had no Intention of getting any.once I'd had a couple of pints I realised he was trying to sell me a sewing machine!! Still have no idea why he thought I might want one of those. Friendly folks alright , just don't agree to anything unless you are 100 % sure what you are agreeing to.

2 pointsYep, same reason to perhaps part with Vrancic who is a good player but not the future.

2 pointsI think he's a cracking player. He had a nightmare first half of the season at Derby County with many fans describing him as appalling. However, he was good at Forest, helped The Blades to promotion and was prominent in Wigan's near survival. He's an exciting signing.
-
2 pointsA bit weird to be signing an attacking midfielder to play at CB but I trust the project 😂
-
2 pointsThought it was worth mentioning either way, for those of us that would be pleased to see we've reached the part of the window you can sign defenders in.
-
2 pointsGo have a browse of Leeds forums or similar and come back to me on that. There are very few other groups of fans who would have taken a season like this with such minimal push back. Most fans would be baying for the managers head at this point, we've had the odd bit of 'Farke out' sentiment but actually not very much.
-
2 pointsHe's made 25 appearances across 2 years, scoring 3 goals. I suspect you heard them talking about the Brentford striker Ollie Watkins, who has indeed got 25 goals this season

2 pointsCan’t say I see anything wrong with the interview personally. Player at relegated club is considering his future shocker! Didn’t Tettey do an interview after one of the other relegations flat out saying he wanted to leave? I think this is just more honesty in an interview than we are used to from UK media - players are generally much more guarded here and give it all the platitudes.

1 pointDon’t stop him for Christ’s sake, he may be about to say they’re good and that would be the first positive thing I’ve seen him say this year.

1 pointI think George is getting at Oxford might bring in Raggert to replace Rob Dickie, because Raggert looks like Rob Dickie. This link in the Oxford Press has some interesting quotes though -- https://www.oxfordmail.co.uk/sport/18618024.oxford-united-boss-in-demand-rob-dickies-price-gone/https://www.oxfordmail.co.uk/sport/18618024.oxford-united-boss-in-demand-rob-dickies-price-gone/

1 pointRupp started his career as a right winger, and has played there throughout his time in German. I suspect the injuries he has sustained have meant he has lost the pace that is needed to figure there anymore. I think he can be a decent-to-good backwards/forwards midfielder in the Championship. A bit of a workhorse in the midfield to help other, more creative players to flourish. One of his biggest strengths has always been his good character and attitude in the dressing room and helping younger players integrate into teams. The fee to sign him was suppose to be around €500k and he won't be on massive wages. I hope he is more of a squad player next season who comes of the bench to clog up midfield when Norwich need to manage games a little better (this was a weakness in the Championship winning season).

1 pointA player we've heard of. Saints be praised. You have to wonder though. With all this activity. Most very speculative I might add as far as ability at the level required. It doesn't half feel like we're being softened up before the mass exodus. Were now spending £5m all in before draging in £50m selling off all our assets! Type of thing. (SPIN)

1 pointHe would do as he came through Chelsea's youth team. Home grown means you played in this country for three seasons between the ages of 16-21 (I think). Nationality doesn't come into it. So hence Krul counts as homegrown for us as he was playing for Newcastle in those years.
-
1 pointYep, my mistake, lived here over 30 years and I still cant get what they're saying some of the time. Apologies.

1 pointWhere has he committed these solecisms? I'm not sure you 'construct' English grammar (no capital required) either, although you might use English grammar or construct a sentence . Perhaps you're a bit confused?

1 pointA few charts for interest from Burn-Murdoch (FT). Lots of outliers. He also shows excess mortality graphs if people want to look at (click for the link)

1 pointThere's no escaping the fact that the guy isn't good enough. One thing we did well last season, and in fleeting glimpses this season, (i.e. against Man City) was put short passes together in triangles, one touch stuff within our own half and shifting the ball quickly out of defence to catch the opposition out in the transition. That is not technically difficult stuff and is the least you should expect of a professional, it's just getting people in the right place and making sure your short passes are accurate. Rupp cannot play like that, I've watched a number of moves like that break down when he gets involved, he holds onto it too long or misplaces easy short balls. If he gets near the goal he panics like he's just heard Carole Baskin won't call off the engagement. Drmic also suffers from the same syndrome, he misplaces so many short balls it's unbelievable. So if he's not a Tettey type player and cannot make a pass stick, what the hell do we actually need him for? We've got plenty of weak midfielders who are possibly more reliable. The Championship isn't full of trash, he won't be good enough there either - total myth that the standard is low enough to carry poor individuals. Not a fan!
