Just be a bit careful. It's not the regulars but all kinds of nutters view these posts. I've had to put personal information on here for Rays Funds and been trolled with emails and phone calls. You don't really want posters like that poster on my case the other night trolling you.

I would sell .... though expect the club wouldn't let me keep the money (they can be like that at times)

ebay keep sending me reminders to say how happy I am with things I've bought. I seldom bother, because I'm happy with them. People generally happy with the status quo tend to keep shtum. The rest complain, these days on social media. It's why Carrow Road gets (used to get) sold out. And why the Tories win General Elections.

I know our club isn't doing too well but 2 positives: 1 - We're not Villa. 2 - We're not Ipswich. Being relegated having spent hardly anything is far less embarrassing than being relegated having spent £144.5m !!

I've thought about this and I think I don't feel important enough even to myself. And I'm being serious. "Who the f*** cares" is what I think about myself. I'm a fairly quiet type generally and keep myself to myself most times. Indeed I was shocked the other day to see my post count because I logged on using a laptop (it doesn't show on a mobile which is what I use virtually all the time)....I had posted nearly 5000 times!.....yet over 16 years plus that is still less than one a day. Most of my posts have been me talking sh*t too 🙂 because I looked back on some. It's best not to look at what you've written I think! As for others sharing, it's fine by me (indeed interesting). People can say and do what they like. I'm not sure about other posters but you get to 'know' folks well after a while from what they say and especially from how they say it. I think overall I'm happy not to know who people really are because I just don't mind. Plus, I would forget their names in a week anyway! I understand some posters' worries though because they've received inflammatory and threatening comments. Thankfully, these happen very rarely. Once or twice in the past I've tried to join in as a peacemaker but I've found I got ignored as the argument was too 'hot'. I used to hate the Morty/Lakey duels. I was so pleased both met up subsequently and made peace. It was good to read and restored my faith in people. I like this forum most of the time. Some amusing folk post here. Fair play to Feedthewolf's post, it's good to be open and honest. I felt it was dishonest to just ignore it as that felt disingenuous. Yet, to respond and say something just what do you say?! So these are some of my thoughts above. I guess I may change my mind in time.

Name: Lakey Age: 64 Location: Nirvana Job: Footballing advisor for left footed players Started supporting City: around 1965 Season ticket: Main Car Park in Keswick since 2015 Favourite Canary moment: Too many to choose from but one that always sticks in my mind is a Kevin Keelan save against Chelsea in the replay after the fogged off match in 73 - a save that was simply breathtaking. Top 5 players you've seen in a Norwich shirt: Any left footed player who has ever played on the left at some time in their career 🙂 Favourite current player: Vrancic (also co-incidentally left footed) Hobbies/pastimes outside of football: Wearing daft hats and looking morose Random fact: I once had a dog called Elvis fall on me from the roof of a house, I managed to catch him and break his fall and ended up talking about it on Radio 5 with the headline "Elvis fell on me from a great height". True. Every word. Sorry if some of that is a bit fecetious, but don't want to much personal stuff out there. Those that know me already is quite sufficient.

For years we’ve been using Leeds as our feeder club, it’s about time they had their day. As us last year they’ve deservedly gained promotion, played some good football from what I’ve seen. I’ve no beef with Leeds or their fans always been good when I’ve been there so good luck in the premiership, don’t think it’s so easy though, just ask Villa and Fulham, spending 150 million doesn’t guarantee anything.
  14. 2 points
As it stands they have spent £1m on defenders per goal conceded, compared with our £ 10,000.

Right then! Seeing as some users seem to think it's fine to share personal information about other posters that they've gleaned from scouring the internet, how about a bit of openness and honesty on here? Obviously some people would rather keep their information private, which is totally cool, but I figured if I shared the information myself it's better than having other people post things about me out of context. I'm not doing this in a passive-aggressive way. I know I've slagged off other posters along the way, and I probably will do again in future, but life's too short for all the bickering, so here's a little exercise to try to bring us a bit closer together. I've put together this natty little questionnaire about myself, so you can find out a little bit about me from the horse's mouth. Name: Matt Age: 40 Location: Norwich Job: editor/writer/marketer (and yes, I did take voluntary redundancy from a role with Archant in 2019!) How does a Defensive midfielder look like a replacement for a winger/number 10? More likely to be Trybull's replacement, with Sitti being developed for a year to replace Tettey.

Two will be Bali Mumba and Matthew Dennis I assume. Dennis has left Arsenal and Sunderland have finished in League One. The last one could be foreign. Most leagues are still ongoing so I doubt it's a high quality signing.

Not until there is a vaccine or the virus just fizzles out by itself. Who goes and who doesn't ? That's a toughie but they might do something alphabetically to start with but it's got every chance of being a very different experience and soulless atmosphere so I can't think that too many people would be keen. I would be a bit disappointed if they brought in a loyalty scheme though. Every season ticket holder deserves a fair chance.

Also.... It's the whining about the "corrupt" EU when, as Bill points out, the government are clearly handing out lucrative contracts to their mates. It's the whining about the "undemocratic" EU when Cummings is driving around literally like he owns the place. These people better wake up soon before they completely trash the country. Apathy and stupidity have left the country a wreck.

You'd hope that it would never come to that between genuine NCFC fans, but there are some strange eggs out there. Anyway, it's good, solid advice, and I'm glad to see lots of other people following suit and sharing their stories/details in such a way that they're not opening themselves up to lunatics! Hoorah for the brexiteers - good news., at last Originally goods going from mainland Britain to NI after Jan 1st would pay tariffs but would be refunded if those goods did not move in Ireland, as they would simply be moving from one part of the UK to the other It now appears the pln is not to apply tariffs.... ....as there is not the mechanism,. staff or infrastructure to deal with those tariffs/checks As it appears to be the case with every other port ! This is likely to fall foul of WTO rules, which will be quite constraining as it is with...... 'most favoured nation' rule So to get round this the UK are now saying they might not have any customs checks on goods coming into the UK from the EU for the time being...... no smuggling there then ! Lies and delusion collide massively with reality Well done fatboy

The honest answer to this Rob, is we didn’t have the money to give it a go, we did well to hold onto the young players who got us here. Unfortunately our midfield was so weak whatever the combination that we didn’t control any games. Arguably our front line was certainly good enough as the games show but post Christmas as inevitable teams start targeting points and forget to play their own game just focusing on gaining points. Our focus was alway to try to get enough points but as shown we don’t have the quality, we budgeted on relegation to ensure we don’t need to have afire sale this year, we build again. But as I said, it’s not going to be easy, three teams will go down next year and the three coming up are always the favourite, but good luck and enjoy the top flight.

The only project as I understand it is to achieve self-sufficiency in order to enable Tom Smith, man of little means, to own the club. Succession planning, Delia and Michel are old. This will have to be achieved by achieving a steady stream of academy products to sell. That's why we have a Cat1 academy and have heavily invested on youth recruitment and revamped the coaching set up Only, I can't get excited by that as the fans have bailed out the club 4 times under Delia and it would only take a baron spell / a year with no Lewis/Cantwell breakthrough to cause a cash crisis and require a bail out again. This is nonsense. It assumes we'll cash in on all our assets every season, that shouldn't be necessary. In terms of progress on the pitch, they were pretty much happy with where we were at... 28th we were. Top 26 the target. We essentially accept our existing average level. Again, nonsense. Later in this post you'll confirm your clamour for a richer owner. I'm going to make an assumption that you'd prefer our target to be an "established" Premier League side. They'd like that too. They also realise that the term established is mythical for anyone but the elite. The only sides that have managed to add themselves to that list are Chelsea and Manchester City; you might argue Leicester but we'd have to disagree on that at this point. For everyone else in the division, relegation is a distinct possibility - see Villa's relegation. What Top 26 says is that we accept that relegation is a possibility and that should we suffer that, we're immediately in a position to challenge for promotion. I don't think it's particularly unambitious to target always being in the Premier League or challenging to be so; Top 26 is the bare minimum. If that's the project then it doesn't excite me, and other than refunding an academy that Delia defunded.... I don't see what's special or unusual about it. I note that it isn't particular ambitious. See above. Delia defunding the academy; hasn't done too bad in the interim. I mean, it's good that our academy will be more productive. Would prefer a wealthier owner being able to underwrite difficult periods to ensure we don't have to constantly tear sides apart and never progress on the footballing side rather than have to cash in on those assets or pass the begging bowl whenever we have a cashflow crisis. Of course it is good that the Academy is more productive, it needs to be because the cash-rich owner you want doesn't yet exist. So it needs to be. We need to produce valuable assets that can benefit us on the pitch, sustain our existence and fund the next generation too. As for passing the begging bowl, it always amuses me that folk feel somebody else should fund things to their satisfaction. The only reason that they have the shareholding that they do is because nobody else, the likes of us, bought the shares and so they had to. If we'd all dipped our hands in our pockets they might not seem like an immovable monolith and we'd have been able to sell our club to the first of these people that Delia is systematically slamming the door closed on. The project feels very much just feels like leaving Tom Smith with a decent footballing structure to give him a fighting chance after the handover. Isn't that sensible? As I've said, the cash-rich owner you want doesn't exist (yet), what they're doing is ensuring that when (if) they do materialise and rock up with their billions to fund our assault on the Champions League, that there is a club there for them to buy. Surely you can get behind that?
