Logged on for the first time in weeks, read this thread, logging off again. Stay safe, everyone. Lots of love, The Wolf x

Every thread is turning into a Scousers sketch. "Stay safe." " Who the bloody hell are you telling to stay safe?"

I’ve never seen “You’ve chosen to ignore content by Bill” pop up so often in one thread. I’m assuming it’s the usual foam-spitting vitriol that should have earned him a ban months ago?

BBC saying Boris on standard Oxygen assistance but not requiring a ventilator so cautious optimism is in order.👍

I'm not celebrating Boris being in the hospital, but I'm also not going to get involved in the ridiculous love in either. Boris is a racist, who has almost certainly (in my opinion) caused the deaths of several NHS workers and hundreds of others due to sheer incompetence (cynics may argue more ideology than incompetence) over PPE and ventilators, and doing everything a month too late. You are talking about a man who walked out on his wife of 15 years who had just been diagnosed with cancer, for his latest mistress. A bloke who says black people have lower IQs than white people. Sorry, I just don't seem to feel the overwhelming emotion that others seem to. Not to say, I wish him dead, I of course don't. Like I said, I don't agree with the celebrating that is going on in some quarters, and I feel for his partner etc, but equally I won't be shedding any tears if the worst happens. There are far more deserving people who don't get anything like the amount of attention.... where is the national love in for the nurses and doctors that have died because Boris failed to equip them properly?

Only City1st/Bill could turn a thread about our Prime Minister in intensive care into an attention seeking thread about himself.

Most of you on this thread are much better than this. I was starting to post angry stuff on Facebook last week and my 30 year old daughter phoned me and made me feel a bit stupid. Can I change the direction of this discussion and say that I think Duda hasn't lived up to expectations. I would rather Stiepermann and/or Vrancic for the fight that may lay ahead

I sincerely hope that not one person on this message board is touched by this terrible virus. It is like a biblical plague passing over our houses. I hope you all come out the other side and you and your families stay safe and well.

How about you just show some class? You may not like Boris Johnson or his politics (I don’t either), but he is a human life with family and friends. Politics is irrelevant, as is your tiresome virtue signalling.

If any of these reasons were true it would have been simpler for the government to have come out with it. Instead, the government came out with several reasons that have been proven to be untrue. You are right that we don't know the answer but the logical assumptions are either the government is being economical with the truth or it is down to incompetence. Neither is a good look. Neither encourages the taking of what the government says on face value.

I totally agree with KG. 🤝 The post was actually highlighting that we should re look at furloughing our non playing staff. Yes, I understand the reasons and arguments for using this scheme. But, fundamentally, I believe that we shouldn’t. So much so, that I have cancelled my season ticket for next season. I wish that the Stowmarket Two ‘did a Liverpool’ and admit this wrong, and reverse the decision. Continuing to take taxpayers money, that we will all need to repay, is a little bit smelly and I would have thought we would have done this as a last resort rather than as a first port of call. (If NCFC did this I would not have been so disappointed and disgusted by them!) It is my opinion and others have a different take on life. But anyone agreeing with this teally can not grumble at Amazon etc not paying ‘enough tax’. After all they haven’t broken the law, they have just interpreted it a different way to most in order to keep more money and payout less. In principle, NCFC have down this. We are not a little grubby and most fair minded folk, without rose tinted biased glasses, think this way. Hence the outrage. But to those who disagree, stay happy and healthy... and have a little think about the other side of the argument rather than calling names to those that disagree with you. The main enemy is Coronavirus, just ask Boris. Our thoughts, prayers and money should be focused here not with some people chasing a ball around. Have a good day.

Open a bank account for 'Norwich City NHS support'. Invite anyone with NCFC at heart to make an anonymous online contribution. This includes players and all supporters. Run it until the Covid-19 crisis has run its course. Commit the proceeds to the local NHS Trust. Don't seek publicity - let publicity find us. It is so simple and easy to administer, it puts no pressure on anyone, and it shows compassion and understanding of the current health crisis.

Can I ask why you are dragging me into this? It may surprise you, but I quite frequently read the message board without always replying, so I am not sure what evidence your nonsense claim that I "appeared 'out of nowhere'" is based on?

I think that was me. It was about people burning 5g masts, on the grounds they're spreading coronavirus. Yes, I know. It's widely available. The BBC covered it. Ms. Holden was involved with a petition calling for said mast burning. I said we'd be burning witches next, & perhaps we could start with her. For the record I don't believe in witches, I don't believe that 5g masts are spreading the virus, & I certainly don't believe in burning Ms. Holden, however stupid she may be.

A level of empathy that Boris himself would be proud of... if he understood the word... shame he didn’t show the same level of care and attention for the nhs workers in need of PPE really.... My sympathies are far stronger for the good people suffering with or having passed away from this virus.... again, no ill wishes towards Boris but I find the level of response to him totally disproportionate - would be a far better display of humanity to care about the poor, the care workers etc... actually think it’s quite embarrassing to call this a show of humanity because people express sympathy towards one posh, Eton educated racist whilst largely ignoring the thousands of other victims.

Irish ( interim) PM, Leo Varadkar , is a qualified GP, he has re enlisted with the health service here and will be doing one shift a week , on telephone assessment and referral work. Although not entirely essential, very heartwarming to see a guy in power actually doing something that is not a photo opportunity. Wish Boris the Buffoon a speedy recovery, not because I support him , but because I am human, with a soupçon of empathy for nearly all other humans. Though struggling with anything but contempt for Trumpo. Billo, you'd do well to dilute your bile under the current circumstances. Sometimes a A measure of restraint is THE measure of a man.

Probably. The US and UK trends are now the outliers on this chart, but the US is a blend of two opposing trends. States like Washington, Oregan and California, plus in the last few days New York - which has been the epicenter of the virus - have started to follow the other country curves, but other States like Michigan, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana are going straight up. What’s the difference? Primarily when they implemented social distancing. So give the UK 30 days and you should see that show up in the analysis. But IMO the stats that are most relevant are hospital admissions, hospital discharges, and deaths. Number of cases is too often driven by non-availability of tests so it’s almost irrelevant to report that once you know where the virus is geographically, and what % of the population will need to be hospitalized. Where testing will need to shift to is “proving” that workers are no longer “at risk” or “infected / infectious” That’s an economic recovery issue more than anything else so can wait a little while, but this testing will have to be on a massive scale unless society will accept randomized testing in the same way we accept randomized voter polling.

This kind of thread is exactly what stopped me signing in here. Posts and discussion railroaded by personalising and infighting. Can't folk just either forgive and move on....or just take a 24 hour break.

Each days reported deaths though aren’t a days worth of deaths Eg you could get a few days deaths reported on on day from retain authorities as we have seen. How you count and define a covid 19 death also matters. Probably a 7 day rolling average would be more meaningful. The obsession with a day to day figure when they are not comparable And subject to normal fluctuations is meaningless as they are not underlying trends based on comparable numbers

Have you any links to Spain fudging figures Chumino. I clumsily used the word fudge a week or two back when i was writing about Germany graphs and stats, so we need to really be more explisite with links, me included. You talk about tipping point and a disconnect between authority and populace..any particular nation in mind or just generaly? I should think most populations of most nations in lockdown understand why it is a lockdown and that we are dealing with an invisible deadly killer that spreads bu human contact. But to understand your point needs a bit more clear explanation.

I really think that many people of this and other threads are completely missing the point of the furlough scheme. It is to protect peoples' jobs and to prevent the economy from going into a massive downwards spiral. It is firms that do not use the scheme that are being massively socially irresponsible.

Blimey Ron, you need to post with a bit more clarity if you don’t mind me saying so. I like Bill thought that you literally meant erecting a stake and setting fire to her! Must do better Ron or you will continue to be used to distract from some genuinely unpleasant posts.

Of course. But I've never used the other one so I have no idea what they're like. French's does excellent haddock and chips. There are a couple in Norwich that are as good but fish and chips always tastes better at the coast to me.

Gosh, I'd never asked myself that question and you know what? I've changed my mind! We should ask the tax payer to fund as much of the club as possible, there is nothing more important for the state to fund right now and it is entirely right that the highly paid staff continue to earn their full whack. It took me a while but I got there!

If there is one club in the top two divisions who consistently adopt as honest as can be approach to financial matters, never had filthy rich owners, cut its cloth according to which division it lays in, so every penny is important and integral to be used wisely, its our club. Ive no idea how one levels a playing field in a sport so unevenly matched, financially, as the 92 clubs in England, but maybe Coronavirus is giving a nudge to at least give the oppurtunity for it to happen...but then greed is greed, in good times and bad.

If we are going to use this scheme, our players/coaching/management staff should ALL be taking a hefty pay cut to go with it. If not, then morally, it looks bl00dy awful. OTBC
