2 pointsBeing straight was never illegal. Being straight has never lead to verbal or physical abuse. The PM wouldn't call straight people "bumboys". And The S*n would never cover their front pages in someone coming out as being straight. There are good reasons why people are still scared of coming out, even in this day and age sadly.

2 pointsI was busy organising the We Need To Warn Kathy When She Picks A Game From The Next Century rota for the rest of the season, because as you know there is a 'woke' feminist plot🕵️♀️ to ensure she wins the PUPs title,🏆 and lacked the time to find a pick of my own...🤓

1 pointTo offer a counterbalance to the thread of gripes... I'll start. When the ball hits the side-netting and the away fans think it's gone in... a distant cheer, followed by a massive "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!" from the home fans as they realise what's happened. When some form of animal gets onto the pitch. When the ref falls on his árse. A good old-fashioned 22-man brawl, with bonus points if the commentator says "Nobody wants to see that". FA Cup First Round Proper day, when big League One clubs go to tiny little sheds in the middle of nowhere to play on a ploughed field.

1 pointWell watching two of the top 26 teams in England playing tonight at Forest, I don't think there is much risk of us not retaining at least equal status. It's not exactly dire, but it is light years behind the quality of football that we have been playing.

1 pointMeanwhile, back on the football - as it stands Ipswich despite dominating the first half have just lost 1-0 at Sunderland and dropped out of the top six. Oh dear. In addition all the teams around them have at least one game in handl. I'm sure this impressive run of form must be sitting well with the Messiah's fans here and with the real Ipswich fans down the road. Maybe we won't be having an Old Farm derby next year after all 😞

1 pointYou will get money unless the seat isn't sold on, and given this is Liverpool it will probably get snapped up. The money gets noted and then if you want it can be taken off the price of your next season ticket.

1 pointThese are good. I like the New Orleans style marching bands. Young Blood Brass Band are also good. The Broken Brass Ensemble from Holland were a lot of fun at the Arts Centre when I first saw them.

1 pointBecause he’s in the public eye, and if he didn’t announce it and someone else did he’d get loads of abuse for trying to hide it. That’s how society works these days unfortunately.

1 pointWBA are yet another example of a club "going for it" and failing. After years of being financially prudent and relatively successful on the pitch, they got a new owner who did the fan-pleasing thing - in an attempt to take them to the "next level" they went on a spending spree. They didn't only sign Burke as you identified, but also Jay Rodriguez, Gareth Barry, Oli Burke, Kieran Gibbs, Kyle Jameson and Ahmed Hegazi. They spent “more on its playing squad than in any previous season with player additions totalling £46million.” Moreover, the club’s wage bill rose by more than £13.2million to £92.2million. Result - they were relegated - hardly a good example? After this, WBA have returned to more prudent ways. The Chief Executive, who had prudently led them to success returned and declared himself shocked by the state of the clubs finances! WBA are fortunate that they had been so prudently run in the past and only had one year of going for it, leading to their relegation. They have, after the return of Mark Jenkins returned to sensible financial management. They have sold over 50 million pounds worth of players over the last two summers summer, of them cheaply just to get them off the wage bill. Result - they are enjoying a much more successful season this year, with a much lower wage bill. BTW, they couldn't sell Burke, so sent him out on loan. WBA are a good example of the benefits of financial prudence. They had one year of "taking a gamble" which saw them relegated. Fortunately, previous years of prudence meant that they had not accumulated too much debt and by selling a lot of players of quickly and cheaply they have managed to restore a financial balance. I'm sure that they have learnt their lesson about "taking a gamble" even if some fans on here still think that it is the right way forwards. I have also noticed your response about not understanding what Hull's problems have to do with "margin of error." The link is that Hull have a rich owner and a bigger margin of error. This led to their debts and the fact that the rich owner has charged them over £20 million in interest and charges them to use their ground! Sorry KC - it just doesn't work - you can't defy financial gravity. https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/west-broms-accounts-scrutinised-backfiring-16070782 https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/grim-financial-reality-facing-west-16332777

1 pointLet’s get back on track, the Co-op claims to be ‘good with food’ but do people really rate them or find their fayre a little on the pricey side ?

1 pointI think he is trying to make a "point". He won't accept that the vast majority of brexiters and Trumpists are right wing so he is trying to equate all remainers as far left even though they come from the whole spectrum of political thought. Having been on a few of the marches I can guarantee that all the political parties were there.

1 pointSo you are equating all, or at least the active, remain supporters with being 'far left' in their politics??? That, if I may say so, is beyond ridiculous.

1 pointI know you don't see what it has to do with anything, and that's the problem. For all of far left's talk of inclusion they don't seem to be very inclusive. Far left politics is centered on stating that everyone has to think the same way they do, and if you don't you're a bigot. It's irony at Orwellian levels.

1 pointI do admire him and his courage for coming out . It must be incredibly difficult for his wife and daughters though . And yes , why now ? And apparently he’s not ready for a gay relationship ? But presumably he’s had a few ? I am out of my depth here I admit . It’s not like the love I have for Emi Buendia and Darren Huckerby then ? Can’t help thinking people in the entertainment industry live in gilded cages in such situations, so much gushing support and tears from twitter etc . I’ll save my real admiration for a friend of mine’s teenage son and his family , old school Norfolk farming community , who came out as a transsexual last year . That was proper brave. A few ribald jokes ( well more than a few) , but it’s been completely accepted and life goes on . Well done Norfolk .

1 pointHaving only just read through the thread, it's obviously resorted back to how much we spent (or didn't, for that matter) in the summer. I still don't think we done much wrong in that window and other than people complaining about the 'amount' spent, very few complained about our actual dealings. Personally, i'd have liked to have seen another striker / number 10 in the summer. I'd have liked Che Adams actually, yet I think i'm right in saying he's yet to score a Premier League goal and cost £15m. Back to the original point, the joys of discussing football on a forum and theoretically spend other people's money makes it really easy to always say you want better. Had we spent more and stayed up this season, then next season people would be complaining if we weren't midtable. Then there'd be a complaint we don't have the owners to spend £50m on a midfielder. It will go on and on. Whatever we have, some will always want more. Unfortunately you need to support a top 4 club for that really. My hope is that we spend some more money on infrastructure, continue scouting other leagues for young players to sign and maybe next season sign one or two top Championship players (homegrown would be ideal). But I don't think we should sign them 'at any cost', which some people seem to disagree with.

1 pointI reckon those who are unhappy with being Norwich now will also then be unhappy with our becoming a Burnley- if that could somehow happen - ie temporary mid-table PL residence , modest stadium, low profile, uninspiring play, big backers. if we somehow became a Newcastle - big profile , huge stadium, big support, (relatively) huge backing, unsuccessful football - then they would be unhappy we’re not Liverpool etc etc

1 pointBlimey i have seen a lot of threads taken entirely off topic but this one is right up there. Not looked but is the TWTD meltdown still taking place ?
