Indeed buddy, and when they said that, I don’t think even they realised how right they would be 😂

I don't see why they can't build a massive campanile on the Garden Bridge and have the bells ring out joyfully from there across the celebrating metropolis...🤓

That would be a rather slim middle ground, about 8 clubs out of 91 (rip bury) I don’t think our current regime is growth prohibitive at all. If anything I think the decisions made by our club will perfectly enable future growth.

Thanks, qualification really has been such a huge thing for all of us football fans in here. It was live award show, so he was actually let to fly to Finland to receive the award. But his walking looked all good, no limping 😉 He was actually just 3rd footballer ever to win that award. Ones before have been Jari Litmanen and Sami Hyypiä, so he is in good company.

I don't think any should hang their heads in shame. As with other parts of life the strong can help the weak cope. Is there anything I can do for you?

My attitude which I think is way more realistic than some give me credit for, is that - The battle is not lost, we are up against the odds, but we have the means to win, we have proved we can beat/match the best and nearly all our warriors are back fit again. We've lost no arms, we haven't even been scratched - we're still in the fight with all forces at our disposal up and running - and there is time and place to vanquish the opposition! All we need is the desire and belief it can be done - and it can be done! So rise, take your swords from your scabbards and raise arms against all opposition and believe victory is within our grasp! Let the mighty Carrow army go forth and sing for their football club. The mighty Bournemouth are not so mighty, so raise your spirits and make the voice of their away following seem like the voices of whimpering children! Beat them and we then look forward to the greater challenges ahead. Victory is ours if we want it! It can be done! Long live Farke and his captains on the pitch, the magnificent Tettey, the warrior Zimbo and the mighty Krul! Long live the Canaries and onward to victory! There, what could be more reasonable?

Teemu was just awarded as Finnish Athlete of Year 2019. A trophy which includes athletes from all the sports. He was actually participating the gala in person and had very visible Norwich City pin on his chest. More merch sales brewing here in Finland.. 😉

Given the financial s**t that Sheffield Wednesday are in I can't help wondering if that's just a desperate attempt to get some short term cash flow going.

Man U wasn’t typical of our recent performances.

Great news. Not for the fans though. Its not their fault. Certainly paints our model and financial situation in a good way.

I'm sure we all have a lot of time for him. He clearly wasn't the most gifted footballer, but he made the most out of what he had with hard work, determination and fight.

Is six points in the next two games impossible? This is the last chance hotel imo so let’s see how we react. What’s different about us is we are young, the manager hasn’t “lost the dressing room”, we have some class players and a striker that will score. Long shot from here but we are pretty unique so past records from other clubs don’t mean that much. Top four here we come ( or maybe just staying up) OTBC

The worst thing about this for me is the two people I am most likely to travel to away games with will be in different groups so the only chance we have of getting seats together is to wait to see if there are any still available for season ticket holders (as one of my pals didn't take up the away membership option this season).

I must be one of the mob banging on about defenders and strikers. 1. Our defence aren't good enough 2. If Farke thinks we have ample striking options he's wrong. Drmic is injured more than he is fit and Idah isnt a good enough starting striker for the Premiership (currently). These are facts and I believe if we had strengthened in these 2 departments we wouldnt be in the position we now find ourselves in.

Spot on. You only have to look at the Man U game to see how much we miss him when he's not there, even if he doesn't score. Plus as the news today shows, we've helped him become a Finnish national hero - would that continue if he moved somewhere else?

Exactly, at least the latter part. If one club goes there could be a chain reaction. It would be dreadful for the EFL and it would only serve to make the Premier League more distant. The real cancer within the game is the financial disparity between top and bottom (as in society) and it would do nothing to change that.

Yeah I have to say, I'm usually pretty positive, but this is one of those games set up completely for an ACN moment. I hope I'm wrong... I really do! We should be able to beat these guys, but we have also struggled a fair bit with teams around us. It's an anomaly. I don't get it! The issue with this one is that Howe is fighting for his job to some extent, Wilson hasn't scored for ages, blah de blah... I was speaking to a Bournemouth supporter on the phone yesterday and he said "Put a tenner on for Norwich to win!" When the fans of the opposing teams aren't expecting anything it makes me worry a bit more! Ha! It just seems one of those games where the opponent might well be more motivated than us. As I said, I hope I'm wrong.

On paper bringing in Drmic instead looked a good idea, but he's never clicked with the other players on the pitch in the few chances he's had, and his injury record was always a risk. Having Rhodes to bring on as a sub who can fit straight in with the other players and our style of play, and will get you goals would have been even more valuable this season than last season, because we've needed it so regularly and that was completely predictable. Realistically he'll have no resale value but it would have been worth it if we'd bargained sensibly with Wednesday. It would still be worth it now at a sensible price.

Exactly. He didn't make the grade in the Premier League a few years back when he was at his peak, following four excellent seasons in the Championship (91 in 179). His Championship goalscoring record has been on the decline in the past three years (17 goals in 98 games) so I can't see how he'd make the step up all of a sudden. He's the new Dani Pacheco or Harrison Reed: a half-decent loan spell and he's the solution to every problem for the next two years.

Like, say newly promoted Cardiff last season - didn't go mad and spend a £100 million like Fulham - instead spent £32 million (the kind of figure many on here have said we should have spent - promptly relegated and currently sit 12th in the Championship. (£32 million figure does not include any fee they may have to pay in the tragic case of Emiliano Sala).

Unless we establish ourselves in the PL he'll be a NCFC player again at some point, didn't he buy a house here?. If we're in the Championship when his one year option runs out would be most likely. He could play at that level until he's 34/35 given the type of player he is so I'd definitely take him on a free. I'd be surprised if it isn't his plan to let his lucrative contract run down then sign for us.

Let not get to carried away with the Idah game time thing. Yes he scored a hattrick against Preston reserves but he has mile to go before he’s a first team regular capable of leading the front line in a team pushing for promotion back to the premiership. This is a big part of our problem we put to much faith in people at this club too early and on very little evidence. We’re a professional “Top 26” team who will need a proven goal scorer at a level equal to that which we are in.

Properly humbled to be given the task of picking this week - especially given that this week is the anniversary of us loosing Ray. Hopefully I'll do the lovely old boy proud! Look forward to seeing all your suggestions - I'll be looking to select the final six late Friday evening. Also wishing the best of luck to my good friend Gary with the City bet picks.

I'd be in favour of a special ' seventies section ' of the ground, terraces,,standing, drinking , smoking and swearing compulsory. Streams of slash flowing out the door of the trough toilet. Floor to roof fencing to keep the animals in like back in the good old days. Silk scarves tied around wrist gets 20% discounted entry.
