Palace fan in peace here. Norwich going down?, not a chance in my opinion. Too much skill in that team for that, remind me a LOT of Palace and the frustrations that come with it. Sometimes the sum of the parts is weaker, and that is what I saw today, just like Palace on a lot of occasions. Palace are stretched squad wise but a good performance by Norwich still shone through. Just need a bit more belief and to gel as a team, once that happens you'll be safe. I wish you all the best of luck for the rest of the season and really hope you get out of the relegation zone soon.

Anyone that thinks Farke should be sacked is an absolute moron. He should have his contracted extended if anything.

Just not quite strong enough at the back and midfield clever but a bit light weight. We have been relegated before playing rubbish football but in spite of the results I don't want us to stop playing this way. A shame we won't survive and lose a few players but I have faith in Farke and Webber long term.

I have noticed over the years that when it starts to go against you it seems to continue for some time. Conversely when it goes for you it seems to continue that way too. Last season it just seemed to go right, this season is a complete turnabout. It's a bit like life, you have to take the ups with the downs and try to enjoy the ride.

Nope. More nonsense from a nonsense poster. Hating the club's dealings for the sake of something to b**ch about once again. Shock. He was a Championship player who had a cracking full season. Nobody is paying more than the circa 20-24m Leicester paid. You are looking at it in hindsight, which cannot be done in transfer situations like this. The price was fair all round. Leicester took a gamble, it paid off. We got a rather nice price for what he was. Playing Devil's advocate, what Championship player (ever, from history, take your pick) would you be happy with us spending in excess of that sort of money on, even today, with prices inflating by the day? None. Exactly.

I watched a couple of Premier games on BT today and the results all seemed to go the wrong way for supporters of the yellow and green. What was needed was a very large slice of luck and I thought that had been supplied when Palace won the toss and set us kicking the "right" way and even more so when City jumped into a very early lead. Buendia had tricked his way into the area but weight of numbers blocked his shot but lady luck played a hand as the ball fell nicely for Cantwell who tucked the ball past Guaita from about eight yards. It was another great start and City began to play the ball about with increased confidence. Once again Buendia appeared to have the ball stuck to his boots as Palace defenders lunged in but could not seem to put the little man off balance, as he constantly woove his magic through the middle. The visitors looked neat but quite strong and physical in midfield and Zaha, proved to be a constant handful, although Max stuck to his task very well whenever danger threatened. The game was full of midfield endeavour but goalmouth incidents were very few during the opening twenty minutes. By the midway stage Palace were dominating possession without being able to create much other than from set pieces. Ayew, almost got in with an on target header from about twelve yards but Krul caught it comfortably on the bounce. Action then flew to the other end where Buendia brought the ball down on his chest and volleyed a goalbound shot that unfortunately arrowed straight to the keeper. City were by no means comfortable in the middle of the park and often dallied too long before losing possession. Just before the half hour Palace had a great chance to level when Zimmerman couldn't stop a through ball to his right. Riedewald was on his own and might easily have had a go from a reasonable angle but instead tried to cut the ball inside. From here it seemed to ricochet between attackers and defenders before being hoofed clear. City still looked dangerous on the break and Cantwell had a couple of chances within a short space of time. First cutting in from the left after a good link up with McLean, he let fly with a shot beyond the far post then he got on the end of a low ball from the right only for his first time effort to not have enough on it to beat Guaita's right hand. Just before the break it was Aarons cutting in from the right who shot low across goal. From the big screen replay at halftime it looked to have taken a coat of paint off Guaita's right hand post. All things considered it was a satisfactory half although I have to say that Palace had looked strong and purposeful and were certainly not out of it. This soon became apparent as we were pushed deeper and deeper from the second half kick off. Annoyingly there were chances to clear but often the ball was lost cheaply due to players trying to be too clever. Thankfully Krul was equal to anything that came in from long range. They were nearly caught out when expecting a free kick into the box, the ball was played short and somehow a low cross evaded everybody. A series of corners and free kicks had to be defended strongly as it became a case of mostly trying to hang on to what we had. City breakaways were rare but a couple of times might have easily resulted in a goal had the luck been on our side. A Buendia free kick, after Vrancic had been felled, looked destined for the top corner only for Guaita to pull off a fine one handed save high to his right. Then McLean got through a couple of tackles almost on the corner of the six yard box before rifling the ball past the keeper. We were on our feet in anticipation but the ball struck the woodwork before bouncing clear. Hernandez came on for the tiring Cantwell on seventy-eight minutes and then Stiepermann was swapped for Pukki as the the City strker began to look a bit puffed. With the sand running through the egg timer I went from feeling certain Palace would equalise to starting to believe we would hang on as we moved into the final five minutes. Palace attacked again down the right and City couldn't get possession as the ball was swiftly recycled to Zaha on the left. His cross was bundled into the net from close range by Wickham but thankfully the flag was raised. As the ref signalled a VAR check I think every City supporter in the ground knew that somehow we would get done again and after wgat seemed an age our fears were realised. The VAR shot was flashed up for a few seconds and Wickham looked half a yard in front of everybody except apparently Zimmerman's outstretched boot. In any other season that would have been a clear offside from the linesman's point of view and coupled with Pukki's "goal" on Sunday, we would now have been four points better off. Unfortunately the God's seem to have been against us from day one and no matter how hard we try we are not getting an even crack of the whip. Having said that I have to admit that while we have looked good in parts, we have generally looked second best in the last fifteen minutes of most games this season. I've enjoyed a lot of our football this year but relegation is never fun and that has looked to be fairly likely for quite a while now. Miracles can sometimes happen but even my lucky scarf, gloves, hat and underpants can't seem to summon up three points this season.

Farke getting grief but a paper thin squad with no adequate back up for Pukki and all of Webber's summer loans / additions bar Sam not working are the reason. Had a leaky defence last year but did very little bar Sam, to amend this...100% not backing a great coach in the summer has meant we will go down with a whimper.. utterly predictable unfortunately.

At 1am this morning it all came to me: Jonathan Rhodes returns in January, so that song we sing with him still in it makes some sense, but unfortunately Lietner leaves for German club, so the song unfortunately still makes no sense. Norwich fight valiantly for the rest of the season , but go down by 1 point based on a VAR offside decision We sell Max, Godfrey, Toddy all sold for £40 million plus We buy 3 unheard of Turkish league division 3 , German league 2 and Vauxhall Conference players for £28.60, who turn out to be world beaters . We win championship by record margin Top 6 premier league finish follows Followed by European cup win By Jove I think I have got it, happy new year city fans - here’s to positivity! Now back to bed

I recall only too clearly them waving their fivers at us as we went down to league one. They'd hit the jackpot.... or so they thought

A lot of princesses on here crying over a harmless tweet. Surprisingly coming from the older gents too. Maybe some players use the type of negative comments Todd has received as a catalyst for pushing on in their professional careers. Social media gives players and in this case Todd, a platform to say STFU to all the naysayers and doubters. If you are one, or have taken offence to Todd's tweet then I suggest taking his advice! Back to the original posts title, I see nothing in his tweet to suggest he's off anytime soon.

Here was his follow up as well.

Rather than going on one Tweet it makes far more sense to judge Todd on the actual words that he speaks. Here's his interview after today's game. Strikes me as being pretty considered, level headed and insightful.

When the ball went in the net, my first thought wasn't "yes! we've scored" it was "oh, what will var make of this". Once it was confirmed a goal, then there was a satisfaction, but the moment of thrill in scoring a goal was gone.

Is it "progressive" to raise minimum wage to a lower level than was promised 5 years ago? Sounds regressive to me if we're more than 5 years behind where we were promised. Speaking of which, how's the deficit? You know, the one that was meant to have evaporated by 2015 - Just asking since the last 10 years of Tories have borrowed more than every Labour government in history combined, I fear it may be another broken promise? But all that austerity and pain poured onto the poorest in society did have some benefit right? It wasn't all for nothing? The gullible still not seeing through this guff it seems.

Just a reminder - the only decent season they've had in Evans illustrious tenure so far is when they made the playoffs and ended when we dicked them at Carrow Road. What a day that was.
  18. 3 points
They have made a rod for their own backs but you can't change the rule halfway through the season.

We’ll be safe, be lucky and the best of health to everyone who posts on here. Regardless of different ways of thinking no one wastes time on here if they don’t support Norwich City.

It's protocol on this thread for me to post up a picture every time young Todd scores. 😉 Great to see him given a well deserved standing ovation from all corners of the ground as he left the field.
  22. 2 points
I would genuinely stop supporting the club if Farke were sacked.
  23. 2 points
That's another goal for Todd. What a return from one of our own!
  24. 2 points
Oh yes there has been a fair bit of poor luck on the way in the last few weeks - pukki’s goal - the mayor on the bar - Tettey shot - today’s VAR etc etc etc we certainly haven’t had the rub we deserve
  25. 2 points
Over the last week, we have conceded after a throw in given to Villa utterly bizarrely despite it being clear the Villa player dribbled it out of play. They go up the other end and score. Where is VAR for the clear and obvious error there? Spurs - VAR called Pukki offside despite him clearly being onside because they used a frame that happened 5 years after Vrancic played the ball (and even then he was still onside) Today VAR has played Wickham onside by using a frame that appeared to be a frame or two early and on the correct frame he would probably have been off. I'm ****ing ecstatic to be going down and get away from this nonsense, but to say it's had marginal impact is dubious - Every time it goes to review it goes against us. Even so far as to reverse the red card against Sheff Utd which was fully deserved as it clearly was dangerous play. It has cost us at least 4 points (Villa and Spurs) and possibly another today. PS Your post is stupid. Webber got us up by spending almost nothing. Why on earth would we get rid?
  26. 2 points
Roll on the days without VAR - if it means being back in the Championship that is fine by me. VAR was meant to vastly reduce mistakes but is making different ones. That is the long and short of it. There’s no ‘conspiracy’ but we have been the victims of a not fit-for-purpose system yet again.
  27. 2 points
Mentally weak players , little point in keeping this squad together, sell what we can and rebuild again
  28. 2 points
He clearly wasn't, the lino and ref called it right. Once again it took an embarassingly long time for them to find a frame and jiggle the lines to justify the decision they wanted to make. All this despite the Premier League being told in no uncertain terms again the other day that VAR is only to be used for clear and obvious errors and not to make forensic offside decisions. This is corruption pure and simple.
  29. 2 points
So was Pukki. Whats your problem? Stop being a condescending ****
  30. 2 points
Can’t buy a win. We had to take 3 today- this is yet another nail in the coffin. Just not getting the rub of the green at all this season- should have been 2 or 3 up
  31. 2 points
Buendia is great but I just want to shout at him to 'get up' about 5 times a game. Great little bit of trickery, but if he actually gets back up instead of being on his knees and complaining then maybe he gives Aarons an option rather than him blazing over.

What a hideous game of football. A few potted thoughts from TWTD: "Why couldn't I have liked a different sport like synchronised swimming" "Its shambolic....I can not process what I am seeing....the passing is beyond tragic. People PAY to watch this!" "I'm quitting as an Ipswich supporter. What in all fvck was that." And my personal favourite: "All of the players are utterly terrible. All of them. They were terrible last year, they're even more terrible this year. Luckily our terrible manager has got another 4 years to make us even more.... oh, you get the idea."

VW - Normally, you're capable of being sensible... not sure where you're going with this but that's clearly what nobody has said. I'm in favour of higher taxation, I just believe those who earn the most can afford to pay the most. I'm in favour of increasing the minimum wage further, I just don't see the point when you're taking back everything you give as an extra tax. It's commonly known as a sham.

I dont think it really matters we need to start winning and picking up 3 points and not 1 and nil from now on in regardless what other teams do. If we manage that then the rest should look after itself
  37. 2 points
At this rate we'll be hiring a 'posture coach' to work with our defenders. They'll all also all have to have buzz cuts and wear a kit two sizes to small for them. Marginal gains and all that.

I’ll decide if we’ve turned the corner once the full time whistle has gone later. We’ve had plenty of opportunities to build on positive results/performances and so far have failed to do so. The performances have been superb for the last 4 matches but with only 2 points to show for it. Time now to turn great performances into points

Talk about total over reaction.. young kid saying he doesn't care what people say about him, he thinks he will make it to the top and everybody gets their knickers in a twist.. so much for backing the players.. Webber won't be happy with you...naughty

Maddison, Holt just two players who we loved and have enormous egos. It is part of the makeup and whatever Todd thinks, he is entitled to say what he thinks. If it rebounds on him then it will be his problem. But don't make it a problem for him.

If she let someone else have a go with her train set it could be £250m. Anyway, the amount is irrelevant 'cos they'll just waste it on 4th tier forreigners who'll have to be sent back after Brexit as they won't qualify to stay here uner the Australian points based system.

Fair play. Not to dissimilar to other posts hes done about being knocked back, told hes not good enough etc. And to be fair last season he got waaaaayyy too much stick for not being Emi - and even this season some refuse to recognise his contribution Whilst not written eloquently the message is a positive one. I would hope though that within the club he is taught to ignore the voices of trolls and a subsection of our fanbase - you'll always have those who make an early call on a player and refuse to accept any different regardless. He could score 25 goals this season and some fans would say hes too lightweight and he wears gloves...

The vast, and I mean VAST, majority of City supporters absolutely love Todd and recognise his worth, I just hope he understands this. I will never understand those idiots that counter productively do their best to push our best talent away. It’s just ****ing utterly bizarre and weird. I hope they’re happy now because it sounds like they’re beginning to get their way. Proud to have him at City, and I hope somehow we can match the likes of Todd’s ambitions, nothing worse than seeing us start doing something really special only to see it disband because we can’t get those 4 or 5 additional quality players that could push us towards Europe (again) eventually.

Maybe a change of Manager would do the trick. It appears to be working very well for several other Clubs Just saying though, as nobody else has dared to mention it (so far). I mean, even the irreplaceable have to be replaced eventually, don't they??
